I realize, that tonics are not necessary, but I love this type of skin care products and keep trying different ones. I'm afraid it's true. What seems just a toner really is worth £100. This is a slightly heavier tonic akin to, say, Guerlain's super aqua lotion or Sensai's lotions. I can use it either with a cotton pad in the evening to remove any traces of spf, tint, etc., or as a splash lotion in the morning.It noticeably calms and hydrates and really does allow subsequent products to sink in better.I am a guy and used to suffer from shaving rash. I read another review that mentioned how effective it is at eliminating this. And it really does.It has a faint and glorious scent. Actually it reminds me of the scent of Sisley Black Rose.Wonderful.

I love, love, love La Mer's Le Tonic. It has been my favorite for years! I was afraid when I saw that they had reformulated it because usually, then the good products are ruined. I'm glad to report that the only thing that has changed is the consistency (now it's more gel-like; it is not runny like before). It works the same for my skin—it calms it down and gently hydrates and nourishes it while preparing it for the next steps in my skincare routine. I love it, and this has been my holy grail product for years!
It’s still early days as I’ve just started using this along with the soft cream, from what I can see so far it has made some pleasant improvements. You can tell it’s lovely quality and a little bit goes a long way. I’m hoping for good things! really happy that I’ve started to use this range as it’s so luxurious and I’ve had many good things for years. Having to invest more in my skincare now I’m in my 40s! So far so good.
So good! I had tried the tonic for my dry and it made my skin look beautiful for about ten minutes till it became a grease trap. I tried this because it has pretty much the same ingredients but this is alcohol free and WOW. The first couple of days I feel like my skin did get a little oilier but after a couple of weeks my skin feels a lot more balanced. Not oily at all, but moisturized and glowing. Nothing I have tried has faded my acne scars as quickly as this did, either. Definitely an amazing product!
Have never been interested in this brand as it seems to good to be true. But I saw another review and it just seemed exactly what I needed. I'm so pleased with this product although I prefer two tap a couple of drops into my hands and press onto my skin rather than applying with cotton wool pad. It's so hydrating and really brightens and refreshes my skin after cleansing. Definitely worth a try.
Was very disappointed in this reformulated and rebranded tonic. It’s thicker and causes pilling with other products. The list of ingredients are similar but different, they added more ingredients near the end of the list including alcohol denat., which was not present in their previous formulation. My face was breaking out and itching.It’s not the same tonic that people use to rave about anymore. As someone who has used it for the past 4 years I’m disappointed. And the price hike, $30 more for something that is a of lower quality? Ridiculous. Do not recommend.
I was looking for a toner to use as a quick wipe without the drying that I have experienced with other products. This was the answer to my problem. I found this to be what I wanted in a toner. It didn’t dry my skin and yet it also did not feel like it left a film or an oiliness that I have noticed in other products. I use it not only during my usual routine but also when I am not wearing makeup and I want to refresh.
This appears to be the same formula, just in an updated bottle and a price increase. Really, was that necessary? I had hoped at least the bottle might be glass, like a luxe special edition or something. Nope. Of course not. But (unfortunately?) this is still my favorite, always reliable, basic toner and the new design does look nice on the vanity. Maybe this is a harbinger for things to come and we can look forward to more needless repackaging hikes. Delightful.
