The brand La Mer is synonymous with luxury. The first time I went to a high end department store I remember going to the La Mer counter and being shocked at the price of the products. It wasn't until many years later that I was able to try my first La Mer product (the classic moisturizer) and I learned that the high price tag was there for a reason. It completely refined the texture of my skin! The hydrating emulsion has had similar effects on my skin, but stronger perhaps, because it is meant to be used under moisturizer. It also has a slight sunscreen odor, which is odd because as far as I can tell it doesn't contain any sunscreen, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Lastly, I know it always says "keep out of eyes" but this one really burns if you get it too close to your eyes. However, I have sensitive skin and it did not irritate the rest of my face in the slightest. In fact, it seemed to calm irritation. In conclusion, La Mer is synonymous with luxury for a reason and this emulsion proves to me that the company has not rested on their laurels but continue to make excellent and innovative products.

In just one use I could already tell I was going to love this product, and I was right! I applied a few drops and massaged into my face and neck and my skin literally just drank this product up! And I was blown away by how soft it made my skin feel too. After about 4 days, I really started to see a huge improvement in my overall complexion as well. This product seemed to calm and sooth my stressed out skin and completely alleviated any redness I had. This product also did wonders for my pores. They diminished to the point that my complexion looked almost like porcelain! And on top of that, I absolutely loved how much firmer and more radiant this emulsion made my skin. The only issue I had with this product was with the smell but it is something I could easily overlook seeing how well the product performed. It has a very perfumey scent and I personally just don't like my facial products to be scented. But other than that, I can see why this hydrating emulsion is being raved about! And although the price point is way out of my budget, this product is so good that I will be saving up in order to be able to purchase more! Highly recommended!!

La Mer products are what I refer to as my 'Holy Grail'. They deliver real results. This didn't happen at all with The Hydrating Infused Emulsion. It feels weightless was but somehow manages to hydrate your skin AND reduce thevisibility of fine lines & wrinkles and pores! I've also seen a slight improvement in the discoloration I have, especially around the nose, lips and chin. I took a picture before and another 10 days after to compare.I have already recommended this product and will continue to do so. The ingredients are safe for my sensitive skin and the results are evident! You can also use La Mer's Hydrating Infused Emulsion with your existing routine and customize it too. In the cooler months or when your skin needs extra care you can seal it with their moisturizer to leave your skin looking and feeling it's best.

Hydrating and Plump

I received this La Mer infused emulsion for free in exchange for an honest review. I was jumping up and down when I received this sample. I used to use the moisturizer and fell in love, but being that it is on the pricier side, I have not re-purchased in quite a while. Although I only received a small sample and can't speak on long term benefits, I can speak of the short term benefits of this product. It has a pleasant citrus scent. The cream itself seems a bit on the liquid-y side, but once applied, it literally felt like it was a balm. It thickened up somehow and felt like an amazing protective layer on my skin. My skin feels so smooth and supple, and plump. There is literally no dryness on my face when I have this applied. My skin feels so smooth and supple, and plump. There is literally no dryness on my face when I have this applied. It feels 100% softer and smoother with just 2 pumps. I could visibly see my skin looked much more hydrated and nourished. I have some dry patches on my forehead and nose, but those completely went away when I used this. It goes great under make up and actually in my case, I felt it improved the look. Although I have oily combination skin, it didn't create a shine even though it felt thick once applied. I felt this helped me maintain my skins moisture throughout the day, which is really important for me as I wear make up daily and hate when dry patches form. This is also really important so that my skin looks plumper. I felt my fine lines were less visible as my skin received the appropriate amount of moisture and hydration from this. I also have textured skin, and felt that the layer of product helped smooth out that texture. The ingredients are also very beneficial, such as kelp, soy, and lime tea concentrate, which aid in making your skin look healthier and help prevent aging. I would say it definitely is a great product with obvious skin benefits and visible improvements, but it is pricier! You get what you pay for, this definitely is a luxurious product and brand. I would recommend this if you can afford it, or want to splurge a bit!

La Mer Lives Up to the Hype

I was excited to try La Mer Hydrating Infused Emulsion free for BzzAgent because, honestly, I had heard La Mer was an expensive brand and I wanted to see if this serum lived up to the price tag. After using it for about a month I can say that the serum really does make a noticeable difference in the texture and appearance of my skin.I started out using the serum each morning and night, as online directions suggested. However, using it during the summer months, I felt like it was a little too hydrating to use that often. My skin felt more oily and not as clean as I am used to - almost like I was a teenager again, I guess. I backed off to using it once a day instead of twice, and that was a sufficient amount for me. I would be interested to try this serum in the winter months when my skin needs more hydration; that might be a good time to step it up to twice a day.Now that I've regulated the amount of serum I use daily, my skin does feel healthier and more youthful than it has in a long while. My face is soft and smooth, not flaky or thin feeling (like my aging skin can sometimes get). In fact, my skin looks brighter and less dull- I might even dare to say I have a bit of a glow. One thing I have noticed compared with other serums is that this emulsion does not necessarily keep my skin clear - I have had a few blemishes while using it, while others cleared my skin better. That said, I don't think the La Mer serum necessarily promises clear skin; it aims to hydrate skin, which it does very well.I would recommend this serum to anyone who needs intense hydration for their skin. However, being used to drugstore skincare prices, I'm not sure I would pay the premium price to get more La Mer Hydrating Infused Emulsion. I would tell my friends that if they ever find it on sale, they should snap it up because it really does work.

Promising but not sure if it's the holy grail

I received a sample of this, and while I like to be as fair as possible, I can't rate this as 5 stars if I haven't tried it for enough weeks to see if it truly makes a difference as a full review (for skincare products that promise as much as this one does). I'm still trying it on, and for what I have, this is a pretty good product so I'll upload a review on Influenster once I'm done with my sample. It definitely softens and conditions the skin and a little goes a long way. It has a pleasant, inoffensive smell (if you're sensitive to smells). It doesn't smell like baby powder but it's not floral or strong. My skin did appear less dull and had more bounce than before applying the product. My skin did appear less dull and had more bounce than before applying the product. Before I applied makeup, I could tell this definitely was refreshing my skin enough that I wouldn't have to worry about my foundation or eyelid area or my makeup creasing/drying as much. This does about a comparable job to other skin creams I've had with natural ingredients, but I'd say unless I'm wow'd by the results of my run, I'd say stick to a good serum with natural ingredients and a good natural cream if you're not in the budget for La Mer. This does not have a retinol or any ingredients that really are proven to work besides the obvious like vitamins (to justify the cost; seaweed is not proven to work like Retinol). If you have the money, this is good and getting this might be a way to simplify your skin routine, but there are many comparable creams in the market and if you're purely interested in organic makeup and skin care products, look elsewhere. If this was organic or something I could use for a dermaroll routine, I could justify this for your average shopper, but if you are looking to incorporate something pricier in your routine, I'd say spend the money on serums.

Additionally the Hydrating Emulsion promises to provide deep hydrating with a feather-light feel. The product itself is dispensed in a pump and is a thin cream. It is strongly perfumed with a powdery scent (think traditional creams for "women of a certain age" lol). It's actually a bit too heavily perfumed in my opinion as it's all I can smell with it right on my face. Now this cream is very hydrating for my normal to dry skin! It actually is a little too hydrating for these summer months but come winter time when my skin is parched I will definitely appreciate the moisture.I haven't seen any improvement in my skin's appearance, but I also haven't been using it that long either. A 1.7oz bottle (the smallest size) costs $110 and can be found at Sephora, Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Nordtrams. My thoughts? I am thrilled to have received a sample to try but I don't think I plan to purchase for myself. It's a bit too perfumey for my liking and I honestly think there are plenty of amazing face creams that cost less. La Mer obviously has a cult following so I may just be in the minority!

I have had this happen before when using products with fragrance at the same time or the day after using retinol, so i suspect the problem is the fragrance here (but could also be the niacin, which i think can react with retinol). Because i have very sensitive skin i normally stick to fragrance free face products. I thought La Mer products might be formulated in a way to be gentle even with the fragrance (because it does smell very nice!) but my skin was still too sensitive. If you dont use retinol, this emulsion might be fine for you, or you could use it just on non-retinol days... but i personally want to use products that are gentle on my face in ALL conditions so i will be sticking with my fragrance-free moisturizer for now.

hydrating but greasy & WAY overpriced

I implemented the La Mer Hydrating Infused Emulsion the same way as I would any other hydrating serum into my skincare regimen. I applied 1-1.5 pumps to freshly cleansed skin while my face was still damp (not WET) and after fully absorbed followed with a moisturizer. I found the La Mer Hydrating Infused Emulsion to be pretty hydrating and well absorbed into skin unlike other serums I've tried that just sit on the surface. However, through the day I found my face to be much more oily/greasy than usual when using this product and despite being hydrating I didn't see any other qualities from the use that I do with other similar products such as plumpness of skin, improvement in fine lines or wrinkles, etc. The consistency of the serum was more liquid and 'runny" than I ... MoreI implemented the La Mer Hydrating Infused Emulsion the same way as I would any other hydrating serum into my skincare regimen. I definitely don't think this is a bad product but in comparison to my preferred hydrating serums I'd have to say I wouldn't recommend this product for those reasons. Also, I preferred skincare products that are fragrance free (especially those that stay on the skin like serums, moisturizers, etc. rather than those that are removed quickly i.e cleanser). Although the fragrance in this product wasn't over powering and was generally a pleasant scent. Overall, this is a decent hydrating serum but has quite a bit of drawbacks. I think I'll be sticking to my preferred hyaluronic acid serum, Necessaire's The Body Serum, but I am glad I got to try this product out for sure!
