Great flavour. I normally buy the La Gina Italian Passata, which is only $1. 50 for 680g compared to the La Molisana at $3. 00 for 690g. Both of which are made in Italy, there's only a 10g difference in weight so no drama there. I made @mumma2_three Spinach and Ricotta Pasta, link below. Just checked and my link isn't working, so do a search for it. recipe/10062276/Spinach--ricotta-pastaI honestly could not tell the difference between them, the pasta bake cooked to perfection and tasted as it always does. Yummy. Also nice to eat cold with salad. I would like to try it again though in a more traditional meat sauce, one thing it wasn't strong or over powering of tomatoes. Was a nice smooth tasting passata, the empty jar I'll wash and keep in shed to use another time. ... MoreGreat flavour. Tasty pasta sauce. I had this sample sitting for a long time because I planned to make spag bol, then got busy with other cooking and didn’t make this. The sauce costs $3. 00 which I think is reasonable. I finally got myself organised to try this out. I added chopped onions and garlic paste to a fry pan with oil, and then once they softened, I added the pasta sauce. I added some water and let it simmer for about 30 minutes and reduce down and thicken. I also made lovelife’s American style sausages, and made them into meatballs and they were nice and tasty in the sauce. The passata has a good tomato taste and I’d buy it when needed. The ingredients are simple and straightforward. The sauce is made in Italy. There is a bit of tomato tang, but it’s not too prominent. ... MoreTasty pasta sauce. Passata. Added this to a chillli dish. I couldn't distinguish this from any other brand due to the dish it was with. I do like the size of the bottle and design. I will use the rest of it in some pasta or meatballs. I believe that it will be a nice addition to those meals. Compared to my usual brand... this one has slightly more sugar, less salt. ingredients are exactly the same. Both made in Italy. This one has 10ml more. I wouldn't change over to this one as it is twice as expensive as my usual brand.

How I Imagine Nonna's Make Their Sauce In Italy! Flavour; A deep intense tomato flavour which was slightly sweet. The smell when opening the lid was beautiful and showed a good quality, well made sauce. It was all about the tomatoes and not fillers, like other cheaper pasta sauces. Colour; Deep red, rich colour, that I found very appealing. Consistency; Smooth and stuck to the same brand of pasta very well. The two are a marriage in the pasta isle!Easy to find; Right there in the middle of the shelving. Price point; On special $2. It is smaller than other pasta jars, but the intense flavour you get, you only need half the amount. I would definitely recommend this product to others.
Great flavour & colour. This is one of the better passata sauce compared to the ones that I've used before. It has a thicker velvety consistency, is sweeter, less acidic and better flavour. Definitely will work well on its own as a simple pasta sauce or cold gazpacho soup with some fresh herbs and seasonings. A generous serving, I was able to cook 2 different meals from a bottle. A beef goulash, and a pork curry. Both dishes were enriched with a vibrant colour and naturally sweet. Italian tomatoes processed within hours of harvesting, very fresh indeed. Not bad price for a quality product. Hard to finish the whole bottle unless you are cooking a huge amount of food. Once opened, the contents have to be used within 3 days. Nice Passata Sauce. I actually used this Passata sauce for my chilli con carne today because I did not have canned tomatoes in the pantry, and it worked well because the ingredients in this product are simply just: Tomatoes, Salt, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid! So I'd just my own spices and a bit more water etc to make the chilli. I can't believe that there was no added sugar on this, it must be the 100% Italian tomatoes which gave this product natural sweetness. Price is great value and it's a good product overall. I'd buy this once in a while (as I also like pasta sauce with Aussie grown tomatoes such as Leggos)
Quick and easy dinner solution. I really enjoyed this passata. It was rich, smooth, with a strong natural tomato taste, tasted genuine and provided an easy dinner solution. I combined it with a touch of garlic, some Chili sauce, onion and some canned tuna to create an easy chunky and enjoyable sauce, and then cooked up some 90 second ready pasta - the whole dinner took 5 minutes from start to end - and the chef (me) and guest (me) enjoyed it. :-) Probably a touch too much of the hot sauce, but otherwise an enjoyable meal! Probably just needed some olives to finish it off!
Awesome sauce. Picked this up and kinda though yeah right !Love the fact that it is from Italy because as we all know Italy has the best tomatoes, or so the rumours go. The fact that the company sources and knows where their produce comes from was very attractive. I do love the shape of the bottle.. go Italy!! Ha hahaTasted the sauce first uncooked and seriously it left no acidic aftertaste as so many do. Used it in bolognaise and was very delighted with the outcome. I will purchase this again maybe stock up when on special but probably toss a bottle or two in the trolley evey once in a while anyway. Great imported product Woolworths.
Good base sauce (not finished sauce). Will need to try this again for a better review but giving thoughts on it so far. as a finished sauce was not ideal but great timesaver as a base ingredientunfortunately this was mistakenly used by family member as a pasta sauce as is, which was quite watery and bland as such. It appears to be a good base sauce, flavour is tomatoey without being acidic or too sweet. As i said, it seemed watery but adding to mince or other ingredients will prob lend itself to being much better and thicken up. i usually use tinned tomatoes with cut up veg and herbs to my taste but this passatas consistency would be great for those liking a less rustic and more refined, smooth texture in sauce. Will look to use in either a lasagne or perhaps even a ... MoreGood base sauce (not finished sauce). Saucy. What a tall, huge, slim and a little unusual bottle of tomato paste at 690 grams in a recyclable jar. I normally buy the 500 grams jar and I think that is too much to use on my pasta and usually freeze half of it, and again I did this with this one. A nice appealing and impressive design on the jar by the makers. It looks very professional and stands out in the shelves, very easily recognizable from the rest of the products. Very impressed with the design and logo of the product. Decision, decision, decision? What choice do I make? Oh! The pain, the pain (quote from Dr Zachary SMITH of the Lost In Space fame). Decided to make beef meatballs this time round, would have loved to try it on our homemade pizza, maybe next time around. The sauce was rich pure tomato and full of flavour. Not too runny, nice and sticked to the pasta with delight. Good high quality tomato and was very much impressed with the product than the normal brand I usually buy and it was good in value. Ingredients and product of Italy, still scratching my head as to why we cannot use our own local produce. During this pandemic, I would like to support our local farmers and produce in this uncertain times we live in and support our economy. I wonder if that is why the price of our meat is expensive as they exported overseas or we do not buy our products? Will it happen to our fruit and vegetables?Oh the pain!
