Better for heat than cold. Stays warm a long time. I used these both cold (frozen) and hot (microwave) for different reasons with different results. COLD: these frost up and get cold rather quickly; I would use them every couple hours between feedings to reduce engorgement. Fabric cover: These come with two purple washable fabric covers. You fold and insert the gel package into the cover and clasp the button to close. These covers are good for (1) cold for engorgement and (2) pre-feeding or pumping - NOT good while pumping since them often got sticky from breast milk. The fabric is softies and washes well. HOT for Pumping: I loved these for use before and during pumping as they helped increase my milk flow. Microwave (20-25 seconds), pop in my bra for a few minutes, remove and wrap around the pump flange and then start pumping. These stayed in place while pumping without having to hold them in place. Washable: I rinsed these in the sink after every use and hand dried if using frozen or air dried if using hot. Overall: Not as soft as other hot/cold breast products but easy to clean, stays warm, easy to use while pumping. Don't stay cold for long after inserting into bra.

I’ve bought this twice, once with my first baby and once with my second baby. I honestly think the only reason I bought this twice was because it was the only thing like it on the market. Overall, it is OK, but I would not buy it again for what I used it for. The positives are that its made specifically to fit inside your bra around your nipple and its soft when inside the little fabric that comes with it. I also like that you can use it for hot/cold. However, I always used it warm to help with milk ducts and have found that it does not get warm enough and if you do heat it slightly longer than supposed to, to make it warm, it smells like burnt plastic and you swear the beads will melt right out of the top plastic layer. These worked out so well! I was trying to use heat up rice packs I already had around the house but they were too bulky and popping my breast pump flanges off constantly! These were so small and fit perfectly where they needed to and I definitely noticed a difference in supply when heating while pumping vs not! The only thing with them being so small and flat, they don’t have much there to hold the heat too long. Long enough for half my pump but I’d have to send my husband to reheat often. Overall, they were small, convenient and helped a lot! Cost wasn’t bad as they are reusable too.

I literally cannot recommend these enough! They saved my breastfeeding journey completely. Amazing for blocked ducts, comfort, engorged breasts, and also not forgetting, they are FAB at getting milk out that bit quicker (perfect for those night time pumping sessions when all you want to do is crawl back into bed asap!) I've been through about 5/6 pairs in a year, but that is only because I use them so often. I happily keep paying for them because there is literally nothing else that can compare to these babies! I was gifted these and I am so glad I was. I had preemie twins and twin B had trouble with latching and I ended up with clogged milk ducts. These helped tremendously with relieving the soreness and pain. The shape is perfect for sliding in a bra and the covers are soft and have a nice snap on them to help keep the rounded shape. They came in handy with my newest baby after my milk came in after 2 days and I became engorged. I still use them a little over 2 months in to nursing to relieve mild soreness from getting too full with changing sleep habits.

I then tried using them for heat therapy for both potential clogged ducts and easier pumping - I used for 20 mins prior to a feed, and it worked out ALL of my hard spots in one use. Also took about 5-7 minutes off my pump time when using them 5 mins prior to pumping and then wrapped around the flanges during pumping. Love them, the warmth feels amazing on sore breasts! Great item for any breast feeding mumma. I do have 2 pairs so there is one always in the freezer I can use after feeding or expressing. I feel you need to have 2 pairs so one can be purely for heat treatment and cold treatment. Especially if you use it while expressing for the heat and need to use it after expressing/feeding, it needs to be in the freezer for at least 2 hours to provide you the comfort afterwards. But a must purchase!

Eased me through early breastfeeding

These are great for engorgement and general discomfort when I first started breastfeeding my daughter. They can be used hot or cold, depending on your need, and have sleeves to put them in so your skin isn't affected but the heat/cold is still there. They shape of them also means they sit well in your bra for the duration of each use, so you don't need to worry about holding them in place. Added bonus of being very useful for general first aid afterwards - particularly knees and elbows! Mine now live in the freezer ready for if engorgement comes back or if they're needed for first aid treatment.

Suggested use Use cold to reduce pain and swelling caused by engorgement. Freeze for 4 hours before placing into the soft cover. Use hot to relieve plugged ducts or mastitis. Microwave according to the instructions then simply place the compress into the soft cover. Use hot to encourage milk flow while pumping. Works with all breast pumps - simply wrap around flange

Helpful for fast letdown when pumping

This product has been helpful for stimulating a fast letdown when I pump so that I may be more efficient. It feels great and also helps when I was dealing with a vasospasm and painful latch. I have used it for almost 3 months before I noticed a slight breakdown in the composition, but they’re still working well. I don’t expect them to last forever, but I’m taking care of them to last as long as possible.
