Sigh. I got my Leatherman Micra as a gift around 1995. I lost it twice and recovered it. Then I had it engraved before losing it a 3rd time a few weeks later and now I've bought a replacement which is nice, but it is weighs less than the previous model and makes me wonder what they did. I had a great sentimental attachment to my first one which I used very often, almost daily for 22 years. I finally also found someone on YouTube cleaning theirs and perhaps also sharpening the blade. I never had any issues but wondered about how to clean and sharpen it sometime around year 15... When I engraved it, I even put it up on my website. How ironic. I got my first Micra in the early nineties as a kind of mistake. At that time, Leatherman prices in Singapore were high, and availability, a little difficult. Asked a friend who was traveling to the US to get me a Leatherman Mini, but said friend could not find a mini and instead got me the Micra. Fast forward 20 years, and I have been carying a micra with me almost everyday. This is my 3rd one, the only time I have not had one on me was when I lost it, and had not gotten around to buying the replacement. It is hard to count the things I've used it for, from cutting and filing my nails, to opening packages, to opening up electrical appliances, fixing them and putting them back together, to pulling splinters out of my hand, the list goes on and on. Have used every tool lots of times and a few times for things they probably weren't designed for. As many have said, it constantly gets used, and you get withdrawal symptoms when you don't have it in your pocket. It probably isn't perfect, and if you think hard enough you could improve it in some way, but for now, it's the best there is for my needs.

This is the perfect EDC (Every Day Carry) tool. I was always looking for scissors and these deliver with other essential multitool regulars, in a compact, satisfyingly solid, fiddle-worthy transformation process. I would heartily recommend this as an essential component of any EDC.

I bought one of these 4+ years ago and carry it along with a pocket knife with me every day. Looks the same as the day I bought it and I probably find a use for it at least 5 times a week. Love it so much I bought one for my brother-in-law for the holidays. Made in the USA and bomb proof. If something happens for whatever reason, Leatherman has wonderful customer service and will fix or replace the product. Only minor gripe are the scissors are great for certain tasks (like cutting the kids straws shorter so its convenient and they don't spill), but do not cut super well with some other materials.
The micra has slightly larger siccors than the squirt. It is also larger and heavier with less function. You could also get a victorinox manager and get more functionality in a smaller package with a better Phillips screwdriver.
My Leatherman Free T4 has gone missing and I'm hoping it will reappear. A perfect pocket tool. Bought the Micra for its tool selection and pocket size. Everything about it is a bit too small, and any kind of prying motion causes it to flex. Flex is the issue. If you want a small pair of pocket scissors and blade its useful. But when I lose this one I will replace it with another T4 or something equally hefty. I also have a full size Leatherman multi-tool that I've had for years. Great but an every-day pocket tool.
I’m a big fan of Leatherman multi tools but I think the design of Micra has a safety flaw. The knife only opens when the tool is unfolded and the scissor is in place of the knife’s handle! You’ll have to fold it back while the knife is out to use it safely. I wish I could return it.
I’ve only had my Leatherman MICRA for a month or two and have hardly used it. I haven’t used it on anything that would damage it. Right from day one the springs on the scissors don’t work right if at all and the blade on the scissors have a small chunk or flaw. I previously owned a Leatherman MICRA and was very happy with it I previously owned a Leatherman MICRA and was very happy with it. Unfortunately this time the quality isn’t there and frustrating that the scissors have to be manually opened every time as the springs don’t work. Perfect. Tiny little device. I’m a crafter and needed a multi tool with the main tool as scissors. This fits the bill. I’ve used the tweezers, scissors, nail file, screwdriver and knife already and only had it 3 weeks! Perfect on a keyring but I keep mine in my inside pocket of my handbag so I’m never without these useful tools. Superb quality from a well known brand.Lovely.I might collect the micra in all colours!
Used on every hike for last ten years - very light weight great for backpacking, great for applying friction or blister bandages and small misc repairs. Gave my old one to our daughter who was backpacking in Rockies for a week this past summer. She loved it. Treated myself to a new one to replace the one I gave her.
