Absolutely excellent. I have had a Letherman for many years and my daughter always wanted one. Purchased this from Multi-Tool with an engraved blade for her 18th Birthday. Absolutely chuffed with the engraving and the speed of delivery. Excellent service, easy and quick to buy and great options. We purchased this with the leather case which she loves.

I love this model because it’s lighter than the wave or the sidekick, but still has everything I need. Pliers, wire cutters, awl, screwdriver options, and I’ve even used the file for my axe before with great results. The can opener stays really sharp, and the mini saw is amazing for pruning small green shrub stuff on trails, or even saplings. This is my second one, and I never go anywhere without it!

I bought the knife less rebar as I typically EDC a dedicated folding blade. So getting the scissors was preferred. However 2 misses on this tool hold it back from 5 stars. 1) Because the knifes are removed the saw and file are moved to their location. These tools have sharp back edges which you can feel in the handle cutouts when using the pliers. This is not a problem on the knifed version as the back of the blades are nicely rounded. 2) You lose 2 blades and get 1 scissor. The result is a big spacing washer making up the difference in width. Another tool should have been included. Or even better the Phillips screwdriver could have been swapped for the bit exchange driver. The geometry of the can and bottle opener needs to be adjusted. It opens cans fine, but most ... MoreI bought the knife less rebar as I typically EDC a dedicated folding blade. So getting the scissors was preferred. Only the Best of the Best

I chose the Bladeless Rebar because I wanted a multi tool I could carry everywhere, and that includes my job. I’m a Warehouse Associate for Amazon and there are no blades allowed. I haven’t even had my Leatherman for a month and I’ve used it almost every day. Had 2 other multi tools over the years, but being able to have one on my belt at work is a game changer. I doubt I will ever buy another multi tool again unless it’s a Leatherman. The package came quickly and without problems. Packaging was simple, yet splendid. The free shipping was excellent also.Along with the Rebar, I purchased a Croc, Leatherman 3 & 9. All for less than $15. You can count me in as being a Leatherman customer for life. Thank you!

Perfect for My Needs
23 February 2022

I spent a lot of time and research on which multi-tool to buy for my needs. All the tools on this unit lock which is what I wanted. I was concerned that some of my family members could not access the tools as easy as other multi-tools, but they most definitely can on this one. For my own needs, I would only use this unit occasionally, so it is perfect for me. If I were to use a multi-tool daily, I would have spent a little more money for a more expensive unit. In short, if you need a multi-tool sparingly, this unit is perfect, and I would recommend no other.

Such an awesome Leatherman. The livery was at the beginning a bit dirty (got black fingers). But after a cleaning everything was alright. Also at the beginning I needed a lot of strengh to open all the tools. But with the time all was gone. Now I can open all the tools really smooth. The cleaning was also helpful. Can recommend the REBAR!

Repairman's right hand

I repair science lab equipment and also vending machines. Whipping out this Leatherman is very much more convenient than fetching out tools. I have some ADHD, so going to look for tools can derail me from a task completely. You know what else this thing really facilitates? Opening shipments and packaging.

Overall, I like the concept of this tool. I carry a knife anyway, so it made sense to skip the serrated blade in favor of the saw, knife didn't matter. I have had this for two months and find it not as robust as the Pulse I carried EDC for 14 years. The use I have gleaned from it so far has been good......except: The slots cut in the file and the saw are a poor engineering choice. Especially in the file. My Pulse has a nail nick to open the file. I had to look at it just now to even know it is there. On the Knifeless Rebar, when you use the file, the slot is omnipresent, Is grievous to have in the middle of the file. An absolute nuisance! Also, even though this file cuts well, the one on the Pulse is much better because of the diamond side. ALL Leatherman files ... MoreOverall, I like the concept of this tool. I may upgrade this review in the future.

Was OK for a while

I have had the tool for four months. My first impression was that it did not have the quality of steel that my 30 year-old original Leather has, but the tools seemed to function well enough. Then I got it wet during a motorcycle ride. I immediately took the tool home, dried it off and set it out to completely dry. By the next day, the tool had small rust spots on the housing and tools. It had been wet for only 1/2 hour. The tools seemed harder to move from the frame. My original Leatherman PST has been wet numerous times over the past 30 years, and still looks the same as it did the day I bought it. We should be able to assume that stainless can withstand some water for a while. That most likely explains it. These tools are not what what they were, at least the Rebar vs. the original PST. I recommend looking for a used PST.

Wonderfully made, but leaves a residue
26 March 2019

When I ordered this multi-tool, I thought it would be great to carry on me when I’m on photo/video shoots. There are plenty of times that I end up needing some form of pliers, knife, or screwdriver when I’m out and about so a multi-tool was the perfect idea as a companion. I was very excited to get a ‘Leatherman’ brand multi-tool because of their reputation. I have to admit that I ended up being a little let down because of two issues - the oil coating that rubbed off onto my hands and how stiff the tool is. The tool is incredible in the way it’s built. I love all the parts that are included with it and especially love the reinforced nylon carrying case, but when I started using it, I found that I started having black residue and oil on my hands after using it. This is not the case with the stainless steel Leatherman tools (I purchased one after I received this version) and so I believe it has to do with the black oxide coating. The stiffness of the tool I’m sure will end up loosening the more I use it, but I’ve had it now for about 3 months and use it fairly often and it still takes two hands to open it up. It’s still a remarkable tool and I would recommend it to others — just maybe not the black oxide version.
