Having just completed the build with my 2 Grandsons it was one of the best builds we have done, while it was at times complex for them it went together so well and the look on their faces when we put in on the stand was to me pure joy.Reading the book and looking back on the life of the shuttles made for a very rewarding time.The build itself is fantastic, and seeing it come together made us feel as if we were building something unique.A fantastic way to spend quality time with Grandkids , laughing and learning

Well they rate the Hubble as a quick and dirty build and that the shuttle build is amazing. I have done the Hubble and loved it - took my time - 2.5hrs. Put it up for display for the rest of the morning but then decided i want to do it again and rebuilt the whole thing - it was just as fun. Cant wait for the shuttle

After watching a documentary on the latest Space Telescope my granddaughter was adamant she wanted to work in the field of space. I thought this model would be a great encouragement for her in her quest for further studies. She loves it. Not rushing to build it, but taking care and her time to enjoy making it carefully. It is a solid build with some really interesting techniques being used in its internal construction. The telescope was made first and now she is working on the shuttle. It looks fabulous on her book shelf along with other LEGO models.
Made the mistake of not listening to the other reviews, and ordered this from best buy. I had it shipped to the store and picked it up there because i thought it would be in good condition. Nope. Box was open and looked like trash. Again, like eveyone else said, don’t order lego from best buy if you want a box that’s not trash

Building techniques are good. It is a solid build so no worry on it being flimsy. Has a nice stand with it too.One thing that is nice is it's like it is two sets in one. The Hubble Telescope could have easily been it's own set, due to this it feels like an added value to the whole experience.My own complaint that is with most sets with a plague is that it is a sticker plague and not printed piece. Really think Lego should have these printed on all sets. Very quick and detailed information on the whole process. Item was a 7/10 some box damage and seals were coming off from packaging but all seems to be there. I will know when I put together. I’m a buyer who thinks the box should be in great condition also. I pay for it that s what I expect. I wouldn’t buy the box in the shelf that’s damaged even if it was the last one. I would wait. But that’s the only issue I had. Great work overall.
This was one of the most detailed Lego sets I've done to date. The Hubble telescope would have easily been a kit in its own but being part of the set was a huge plus. Absolutely one of my favorites Lego sets to date. Very pleased with the finished results and surprised by the finished size. The only issue was the shipping process it went through. It looked like the package had gone through a tornado, luckily no damage to the parts themselves. Also the chrome stickers weren't the easiest thing to apply. Just take your time and don't get in a hurry while doing them.
Normally I don't write reviews but for this set I need to make an exception.This set is really a very nicely created lego set. I was surprised by all the details on the set and references to the real shuttle. The Hubbel telescope is a great addition that almost could have been a separate set. With the cargo hold open and the telescope on top of the shuttle makes a great display.The set comes with quite a few custom printed bricks. But sadly still some stickers. This is for me the only minus point for this set. I would have preferred they would have avoided this al together.But this is for sure a set I would recommend! looking forward to more space themed sets!
The Shuttle and Hubble telescope was really fun to build, not overly challenging with straightforward manual, but enough bricks to keep going for hours. It has intricate detail in cockpit and payload bay and elegant articulation of wing flaps and landing gear. It is hefty to hold and takes up a decent space but overall is a satisfying purchase. I just need a scale booster rocket set...Cons: no minifigs - even though the scale would never fit them inside, enough stickers to drive you nuts.
