For old-school Lego builders, these Architecture sets are a welcome return to the spirit of Lego design in the 1960s and 1970s: solid, simple, compact, and straightforward; they aren't the loud and frantic and over-literal building themes otherwise populating the Lego products trying to grab the over-stimulated attentions of today's children. These are thoughtful, intelligent sets (and a balm for the soul of any child that might be encouraged to choose them over, say, Ninjago.) I highly recommend and applaud this lovely set, and I greatly hope that Lego will find means to market more of these lovely skyline sets.

I purchased this model for myself, after having not built a good LEGO model since Christmas. I must say, building it brought me back to when I first went to Berlin in 2012. The miniaturised landmarks of Berlin were very well recreated in this fine diorama; perfect for the desk or for a display cabinet. The attention to detail was very nice, with the pieces representing the Berlin Wall dotted sparingly throughout the set.The only problem I had was rating this model. Its not really a play experience, so I rated it average. That does not accurately represent my views on this. I would highly recommend it. I'd also recommend the TV Tower get its own set down the line.

If like me you have just visited Berlin, and want a buildable souvenir this is great.ConsUnfortunately, the set is a little underwhelming and small. The value for money is poor, not terrible, hence the two star rating. The spaces between the objects are too small. I wish the Berlin Wall was separate and more detailed, with the death strip. Building techniques are absent, perhaps excluding the Deutsche Bahn Tower, which is disappointing. The TV tower is fragile. Personally, I think that victory tower lacks detail.ProsThe Reichstag is the best, I love the dome detail having visited it. Everything has value. It captures the architecture well, everything is recognisable. The instructions and box are very high quality. There is great information in the ... ... actually, less than 2 hours. I spent another 20 minutes reading the details in the very helpful guide. As as teacher of Social Sciences, I use these things in class.I had great fun putting it together. The diverse architectural styles kept me entertained. The finished product is a sleek, professional looking piece which I can proudly display. I think that the city skyscape series is beautiful. I can't wait to build Venice, and I hope that you (Lego Architecture creators) produce Moscow, Dubai and Barcelona soon! Just a wish....The only thing is ... this really is not for young children, unless they have a particular fascination with architecture.Well done! I look forward to moving on to Venice.
As a avid architecture collector I was almost upset when I saw the next Architecture sets where cityscapes. After being lucky and finding this on release day at Toy's R Us I picked it up. The build was interesting. This was the first Architecture set that includes color printed bricks. There use on the set came out well. You must remember the detail on the cityscape is very minimal but the execution was outstanding.
Having collected and built all of the architecture sets to date this is my least favourite. I think if the telecom tower was left out it would be better. The tower just takes away from the rest. It also doesn't help that you end up pointing out to people the sections of the Berlin Wall. I do however like the different building techniques.
Well, it's good these are less expensive than most of the other architecture series. But, after building five of the larger architecture series, for me, this new concept is not as wonderful. These are like a combination of the architecture designs and other Legos. It was so fun to build on the big, well-designed, detailed, Lego interpretations of famous architectural landmarks. When you are finished with each one, you have a better understanding of how it was constructed and what its historical meaning is. And it is usually makes a very nice piece to display. These little ones, combined with other buildings, and not as detailed, are just not as special. I hope you will not stop making the big ones, even though they are more expensive.
I enjoy seeing Berlin resting on top of my fridge while I investigate putting it up on my wall; it's definitely a display piece. Not too difficult to put together; there's a lot of fiddly bits, but if you get them organised, even a novice should manage relatively easily. The instructions are extensive to the point of being overdone. The Deutsche Bahn Tower and TV Tower are both a bit wobbly, but not the end of the world. Overall, I'm very pleased.
My daughter has been getting legos as gifts here and there and I noticed that she was breezing through the ones she got rather quickly. The ones geared towards 6-12 year olds with multiple pieces were done with almost no effort and within a very short amount of time so we went into a local lego store and asked the young man to help us find something better suited for my six year old. He was very well informed and suggested I try an architecture collection to see if my little one was ready for something a bit more challenging. My daughter opted for the Berlin one because it had "sparkles" (referring to the glass dome). I figured this should keep her occupied for at least a couple of days. My daughter opted for the Berlin one because it had "sparkles" (referring to the glass dome). I figured this should keep her occupied for at least a couple of days. Within 40 minutes of starting this piece, she showed up at my side saying this was way too easy and she was done. She was proud of her accomplishment and i gather she enjoyed building it... but it was really not challenging at all for her. I know NOTHING about legos. As far as i can tell she did everything correctly and the model she completed looks identical to the one on the picture... and i really looked! Could it be that she did something totally wrong here? She says she used all of the pieces that the instructions called for. Can someone who understands Legos take a look and tell me if she did this properly or not? I will attach a picture. Thanks! Also if anyone has any suggestions of a good next step please let me know... I don't necessarily want her spending more time on a lego puzzle but rather have it be a little more challenging (assuming she did this right). Thank you in advance.
While "Ich bin Ein Berliner!" myself, I decided to purchase this before the German Day Of Fate.I stayed on it really concentrating on it, but I enjoyed it.This symbolizes my love to my City and to my country. It is a motivation for me to work: I ALWAYS put it in front of me, on my desk when I work, just some luck over here! This set made my days and it was the first thing I touched in 2018.Really Challenging!
