I've been a fan of the Architecture sets for as long as I can remember, I mainly only get the locations where I've visited but on this set I decided to grab it now rather than over paying for it later in life. The set in all honestly is the most boring set I've ever done, I was so bored looking at the soulless buildings that I'd had enough of it. I didn't even get as far as the Burj Khalifa. When you build something like the London, Paris or Tokyo ones it's good fun, all the buildings have character, this one was sucking the life out of me! I might pick it in the coming weeks but as Architecture sets go, this is by far the worst one out there, unless you want them all, I'd say give it a miss.

I think this cityscape does well at having fewer buildings that all make a statement. I think the use of studs for construction on the Burj Khalifa is a great method, the Jumeirah Emirates Towers were fun to build, and the Burj Al Arab is one of the coolest looking structures I've ever seen. The only thing I have changed in the set is on the front-right base of the Burj Khalifa to put the anti-stud in the back, so that only smooth surfaces show in the front. Overall, I think this set has some great buildings from Dubai, and it gives off a great feel to have on my shelf.

I finally got round to buying this set and building it, and the final model does not disappoint. I went to Dubai in 2013 and went up to the viewing platform in the Burj Khalifa, which provided a spectacular view of the city and its surroundings. This Lego model has produced accurate and attractive small-brick representations of the real buildings, in my view, allowing, of course, for the limitations of such tiny skyline sets. However, the build was highly enjoyable, spending an hour or two over five days (I don't like rushing these things!), and the Burj Khalifa's height in the model struck me as conveying just how tall and striking a building the real thing is. I got this for my birthday and all in all its a really good set. I was surprised when I saw the size because I expected something a little smaller, but I'm glad it's bigger. I like the Burj Khalifa and the colors they chose for it. I like the detail of the Burj Al Arab. Jumeirah Emirates Twin Towers Hotel is nice with the colors. However some things I don't like are that The Jumeirah Towers show the back of the bricks used and it's not necessarily a pleasant sight. Also I'm not sure what the little flat building with the gold piece in front of the Jumeirah Towers is. The Dubai Fountain is kinda a small comparison to the actual thing but I'm glad they did include it. Overall an excellent set that makes a great decoration.
I have done a couple in the Architecture Series- Shanghai, Tokyo, and the Great Wall. This one was my least favorite because of the Burj Al Arab. I think the siding looks cheap and kept falling off. It also seems to not have as many features as the other skylines. Dubai is a really cool city, I don’t feel like this accurately showed it.
My 14 year old kid loves building design and structure and has built a lot of these sets, San Fran, Chicago, Empire State, Statue, Arch de, Capital Building, and countless other sets, but this one has left him as well as myself, disappointed. We loved the idea of Dubai, but the buildings just look cheap after completion. Put this next to New York or San Fran when complete, it'll leave you disappointed. Burj looks generic, window is just a window so zero skill there, the Sail (Jumeraih) was the best build of the whole set. There is so much more architecture/artwork that could have been done with this set...Also, if possible, do a scale size Burj Jumeriah or Khalifa and Sears Tower so we can display next to our Empire State Building!
As a fan of LEGO Architecture series and skylines, I have to say that I’m not impressed with several details and building aspects of this skyline set. In the order of my disappointment, below are my observation:1. Burj al Arab’s exterior truss system is Balt portrayed. Understood the small in scale but the diagonals and angles are just not right scale and depiction of the truss system. On the sides, it looks particularly awful!2. The back facade of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel looks unfinished and the buildings are wabbly3. Burj Khalifa’s building technique is a draw back from the previous two versions, I was expecting to improve upon previous as this is the third time appearing on LEGO Architecture set. I love this set. I have all the Architecture skylines and this one definitely stands out from the rest of the collection. The build was challenging enough, there's some really nice elements, and the end product is really eye-catching.My only complaint of this set is that it is so unstable, I have to handle it incredibly carefully when moving it or dusting it. All the Architecture skylines are usually pretty solid, this one feels like it's about to snap. Burj Khalifa teeters and feels like it's about to fall off and the Jumeirah Hotel halves wobble in place. Overall a very nice set, I just don't get why they greenlit this set for release being so unstable.
Bought for my 14 yr old son as a Christmas gift. He loves the architecture builds. Has them all displayed on shelves around his bedroom. He really enjoyed this set. Lego always makes a great gift and never disappoints.
