I personally love Lego location sets and Battle on Scarif did not disappoint! It was a fun build and makes for a great display set.Pros:- The Jyn Erso minifigure looks really cool- You also get Cassian Andor and two shoretroopers- Good play features, including a falling tower, exploding landing area and hidden gun cache- The finished set looks greatCons:- Should have included K-2SO- Either Jyn should have been in her regular clothes, or Cassian should have been in his disguiseRecommended for any Star Wars Lego fans!

Rogue One's most dramatic and heartbreaking scenes all take place on Scarif. Nobody expected the Empire to occupy a tropical planet. This set is a brilliant location set that is fun to build, great to display and has plenty of play features. The landing pad can be made to 'explode' by punching a mechanism and it works really well. Hidden underneath the pad are also a bunch of weapons that add playability. The addition of palm trees and tropical plants in muted colours enhances the movie accuracy whilst combining organic with the inorganic Imperial structure (which is basically the whole idea of the Empire's occupation of Scarif).Just inside the doors are the Death Star plans which isn't like the film but necessary. I like how the master switch has been incorporated into the build as it's very important to the story. The minifigures are awesome! The two Scarif Stormtroopers have detailed printing and their masks are an accurate shape. It would have been cool if one of them could have been made a captain by giving them leg pauldrons and the red rank on their arm. Cassian is in his Scarif outfit although I would have preferred him in his Imperial disguise. Jyn looks amazing in her disguise and one of her facial expressions is fierce determination which describes the character so well. Again it would have been even better if Lego could have opened the visor so you could see her eyes. This set is brilliant and one of the best Rogue One sets available, although the price is steep for what you get. However a great buy in any sale.

The Shoretroopers are identical, but differ from the one in 75154 TIE Striker for the lack of sand blue markings which denote captain. The helmet sculpt is shared with the hover-tank pilot and, although the mouth piece is less prominent than it should be, works very well. The Shoretroopers twin barrelled E-22 blaster is created using a galaxy squad blaster and a pair of binoculars.Cassian wears a less detailed attire to his appearance in 75155 U-Wing but it is not any less accurate. It reflects the attire he wears for most of the movie. He is armed with a standard gunmetal grey blaster. It is slightly disappointing he doesn't come in the Imperial officer uniform like Jyn.Jyn is wearing the uniform of the imperial ground crew, and is the same as the one in 75154 TIE Striker, other than it having Jyn's head. She is armed with the standard black blaster. The price point should warrant at least 5 minifigures so it is disappointing that K2-SO isn't included.THE BUILDThe overall set is very nice and would work well for both display and play. The landing pad could have done with being larger as none of the rogue one ships can land on it. I like the catapult function of the landing pad, and the thermal detonators in the hole makes it. The little draw seems like a waste of pieces at the cost of size, but I feel that it would be greatly appreciated by children.I like the use of angled slopes to give a forced perspective of the interior being larger, although it still feels rather small. The two interior computer panels are nice touches, particularly the one with the Death Star plans. The palm tree and other vegetation completes the set. It is amazing what a few pieces can do, as the set looks poor without them.OVERALLIt is a very nice set, and by far my favourite location-based set in the range. This type of set is few and far between so I appreciate another. My major cons are the price per piece count, the low minifigure number and the lack of interior. Other than that it is a great setOne interesting thought for the set is the two clips at the rear. Is this a hint to an expansion??

A cool set. . . a bit pricy though
2 April 2017

This is a good set. I find the door locking mechanism really neat, and I like how the comn tower tower collapses when doing so. The set looks really, very realistic, especially the foliage and stickers. The scale looks good to me, although the interior portion is far to small. The pull-out weapon rack is cool, but not necessary. The exploding floor tile function is my favorite, mainly because there are two thermal detonators to indicate why the panels exploded. It is cleverly made and well hidden, which I am grateful for. The Scarif Stormtroopers look well-molded and realistic. Captain Cassian Andor does not quite fit in with Jyn Erso, because she is in her disguise, but he isn't. I would have preferred to see Blaze Malbus, Chirrut Imwe, and some rebel troopers rather than the two rebels included. The battling is done by them, not by Cassian and Jyn. But all this put aside, this is a really cool set. The only thing that is not cool is the price. If the amount that this set was sold at in the UK was used here, it would be approximately 55.00 USD. Although it is priced at 49.99 USD, I feel that it should be no more expensive than the A-Wing. 30.00 USD sounds reasonable to me. For something that size, it really should not be priced at what it is now. Also, just one more thing. I would be much happier to buy this set if it came with an X-Wing, even if Lego made it more expensive. We haven't seen an X-Wing since 2012, and we are long overdue, seeing as it is the most iconic fighter in the Star Wars Universe. All this put aside, however, this is a good set. It is great for children, after all, the play features are fantastic. In conclusion, this is a great set!

A great set...but perhaps a little overpriced

Firstly, this IS a great set; it is a very good representation of the Landing Pad on Scarif. The build is good fun and interesting. For the kids (the target audience of course...) this will provide a good hour of fun in the build alone. The 'playset' nature of this set promises to provide many hours of additional fun afterwards. Many people have queried the characters and in some regard I agree. I think that perhaps they should have included K-2SO in this set. I think that four minifigures at this price range is a little thin on the ground.Cassian's outfit doesn't seem to tie in with Jyn's disguise HOWEVER it is a new figure and we haven't had Cassian in this outfit before so it's not entirely without merit. As a Collector, this set perhaps doesn't offer ... MoreFirstly, this IS a great set; it is a very good representation of the Landing Pad on Scarif. It's a very fun set for the kids, and looks good for the collectors as well.Positives: Fun build, GREAT play value, new figure designs, and a recreation of perhaps one of the best scenes in any Star Wars film.Negatives: Slightly, although if I am honest, only slightly overpriced. One more figure would have negated this issue immediately.Overall: A fun set, a GREAT set for kids which offers an interesting build and a bespoke playset.

This is a typical set from the recent release of Star Wars products. The style and detail represented in this kit is spot on with Star Wars, and the mini-figures look great, but as with many modern releases it lacks substance.I mean seriously, a door and some ground? How is this set worth $80+?! The set isn't interesting enough to appeal to children and is so ridiculously over priced that any discerning adult wouldn't care to pick the box up. The only reason to get this set would be for the mini-figures which could easily have been bundled in something more interesting like a ship.Lego have really dropped the ball on these mini play sets. Sets that are just "big doors", "L-shaped walls", and "some rocks" are insulting to the customer and far below the standard ... MoreThis is a typical set from the recent release of Star Wars products. This is a needed set for the Rogue One series, and it plays well with all the others, especially the hovertank, since it comes with one more of those cool orange cargo containers. It looks great and does have some interesting features such as the exploding floor panels, the falling comm tower/door lock feature and (my favorite) the storage tray under the cargo pad. The figures are good, but I think four of them is a little on the short end for a set in this price range. The size of the build itself is fine, but I think one more mini-figure would have been appropriate. That's my only bone to pick with this set. All in all, it's really good and quite important to the Rogue One lineup.

Really easy build. Set piece a fairly faithful portrayal with one or two interesting features (that might appeal to the youngsters). Pretty sturdy build but the palm tree (itself solid) can be knocked off very easily.Interesting choice of mini figures. No complaints with the Scarif Troopers, but think Cassian Andor's body print is indicative of a change of ending to the film (to match Jyn Erso, he should be dressed as an imperial officer - perhaps Lego will make just such a bagged figure available). Also, both rebel characters spent most of their time on the interior, but again I think it's likely a result of the changed ending (where they had to dash across the beach with the plans or something).A bit pricey for what it is but I managed to take advantage of a ... MoreReally easy build. Maybe including another mini figure (a K2SO makes sense, with the other two rebels) would've made the RRP seem fairer.
