The clean, sleek design of this ship would have Lando over the moon. There are a few oddities to be found with this Falcon: the cockpit interior is a little tricky to get Chewie into (who, I would argue is the most important character to have in the Falcon's cockpit) and the ramp is largely nonfunctional given its location and lack of height on the landing gear.I have seen the reviews indicting that you can't have the top closed and minifigures at all the areas of the ship, especially all the dejarik table seats. This is true, but as someone who has it for display for me, and for playability for my son, this isn't a real problem: when on display, the characters can be moved to other areas of the ship conducive to closing the lid, and when he's playing with the set, the possibilities are endless. The other point in the reviews about the gaps in the hull, again, while valid, have little impact on display, and no impact on my son's playability with the set.I have one complaint, and that is a lack of an L3 figure. Given this is "Lando's Falcon", and given L3's importance in the uprising on Kessel (Kessel Run Millennium Falcon after all) it's a surprise to not have her in this set (or, any set at this point). On the whole, I think this is a great set. There were a couple tricky parts of the build that it took me several sets to realize I had incorrect, and I was able to fix the problems easily in both areas. As someone who considers themselves a expert builder, this was a welcome surprise: to learn I can still learn something new about making a lego set after 25 years of building.

There are pretty close to 20 releases of the falcon now in various sizes and complexity. 7 of them have been figure sized sets. It doesn't stray too far from the expected Falcon build features but there are new details inside and it has a good swoosh factor for play. I'm actually quite surprised at how much I enjoyed the building process. The technic was slightly confusing if you don't usually use technic, but if you pay attention throughout this build, you shouldn't have much trouble. I am a little bit disappointed by the gaps left in the top wedges that cover the interior. The figures are wonderful and a lot of detail was put into everything. One flaw with this detail is the annoying stickers for the grill details (six circles in the back) to be put on. I feel like those could have been an exception to be printed. The landing gear doesn't retract but it is perfectly fine. There is a landing ramp but it isn't quite large or tall enough to carry a figure, however it is nice to have. I also would have liked to get L3, but that might not be LEGO's fault. Overall, this set is wonderful.

Finally, a white Millennium Falcon
6 December 2018

There have been so many Falcons over the years, and this is the third one in my own collection (original UCS and the Ep VII set). It was nice to finally have one made primarily with white bricks. I know the original falcon wasn't "gleaming" white like a new lego brick, but the gray never sat right with me. So kudos there, Lego! Now, for my beefs. $170 for 1400 pieces is just too much. It's a cool set, but the value just isn't there. There are also gaps in the shell that make it look a little unrefined. And the interior lacks some of the detail and flare of the previous models.Still, it was a fun build, displays well, the removable escape pod was a nice touch, and the Solo Movie Lando minifig is an instant classic. I'd recommend waiting for it to go on sale, but ... MoreThere have been so many Falcons over the years, and this is the third one in my own collection (original UCS and the Ep VII set). Fun set, with a fresh new look for an iconic ship
14 April 2018

I bought this item on Friday the 13th of April. This set was on my radar for awhile and I wanted to see how it compares to the Force awakens variant from 2015. This Falcon is from Solo A star wars story, hence is fresher, sleeker appearance. I felt the set had more to do in some areas and a lot of great detail was added to the set. The shuttle at the front is a unique addition. Also the gunner section inside the ship has more detail and looks accurate to the films like A new hope. While this set is a little more expensive than the 2015 version, its got more pieces, exclusive cockpit print and more unique mini figures. My only complaint is that theres gaps between the panels but nothing major. Would highly recommend for any fans young or old.

Kessel Run Millennium Falcon - Worth it?
17 July 2018

This is by far the largest set I've ever purchased, and because of that I had very high expectations, some of which were met and some fell short. I had heard the complaints and praise before, so I knew to some extent what I was getting into.First for the minifigs, I really like the exclusivity of them. Usually I like to see the main characters in cheap sets, but I think LEGO did a good job including the minifigs in this one. The droids look pretty good, Lando Calrissian looks great and I love his different colored cape. Qi'ra looks very different from her other minifig in the Solo's Landspeeder set, and Chewie and Han look about as expected, although the different mold on Chewie I didn't see coming (but still looks very good). Quay Tolsite is fine, but I still ... MoreThis is by far the largest set I've ever purchased, and because of that I had very high expectations, some of which were met and some fell short. Quay Tolsite is fine, but I still don't like the new "skirt" piece for the minifigures. Just give them legs and a cloth skirt, like Chirrut Imwe! The build was stunning, keeping me on my toes up until the 8th or 9th bag when we did the repetitious panels. The build itself looks great, and personally the gaps between the panels don't look nearly as bad as a lot of people made them out to be. I wish the landing gear was retractable and longer, so that the boarding ramp could lower enough for minifigs to actually board! The cockpit works great, and Chewie and Han both fit very well together in the cockpit. A lot of people complained about the different shade of white on the cockpit screen as compared to the rest of the ship, but I don't think it looks too bad. The ball & socket radar dish doesn't look very good in my opinion, but it works. The engines look great, and are very well tapered and the blue pipe element looks great. The interior is fine, but not as spacious as the 2011 version looks ( I don't actually have it, but I've seen pictures). The bed works well, but I think maybe a 2x3 inverted roof slope on the back of the bed would blend it better with the back wall. The drink bar looks good, the control screen looks amazingly detailed, and the cargo area is good too. The seats for the dejarik game are nice...except that the two closest to the ship's exterior walls are useless, because the panels won't close with anybody sitting there! The two arches at the front interior of the ship really take out a large section that might have been used for something else. The detachable escape pod thingy looks fine, definitely looks better in than out (the prongs look puny with it out), but I wish that they had put two of the handle pieces instead of a handle and a click hinge, because now it doesn't secure very well. The spring loaded shooters work very well, and if you are not one to use that play feature, rest assured that they are very well hidden and are not going to interfere very much with the display factor. The gunning hatch works very well as well, and I like the removable seating arrangement and the detailed controls for the gunners - works very nicely.Overall this is a good set, although the price was about 15-20 dollars too high, and I think they could have improved the interior a little bit. Either way I'm glad to finally have the Millennium Falcon - even if it is a weird, white version.

There also seems to be an attempt to add more colour to the inside of the craft, with yellow seats, red coffee mugs and green and blue transparent jugs.On the plus side I like the movable ramp, the central gun turret which can accomodate figures and also be removed. And the removable front section is also pretty cool. The piece is also very sturdy and solid, and for those who will use it for play I would say it should stand up to a degree of being pulled about. The negative? I have to echo the previous posters comments about the gaps. They are very noticable, especially at the back of the craft, but all over really. I also had an issue with fitting some of the figures inside the Falcon. Chewie will simply not fit into the main cockpit. I managed to get him into the gun turret instead, but even then had to make the figure lean back quite a way. Second, you cannot fit any figures into the removable front section and close the canopy, even though it appears to be shown in one of the illustrations in the instruction book.Another issue, which didn't really bother me too much but could be an issue for purists if it is repeated in other sets of this item...part no. 4107106, a transparent green piece designed to be used as a jug, only one of these is contained in the set when there should be two. Instead, there is an extra blue transparent piece of the same type, part 4183554. So I just used that instead.Overall I would say this is one for Star Wars completists rather than an essential purchase.

Obligatory Reissue
26 June 2018

If you have built either the 2011 or 2015 version of the Falcon, there is not much new to see. However, if you are looking for your first Falcon Lego experience, you will not be disappointed with this one. The fact that the classic split nose look can be achieved by removing the escape pod gives this set great backwards compatibility, making it perhaps the only Falcon you need to play with characters from both generations. While minifigures should not be the reason you invest this much cash into a set, the characters are well done. But honestly, I'd rather have Lando's L3 droid than the random Kessel droids. This set has great play value and I would highly recommend for anyone who truly plays with Legos. Very pretty set
17 June 2018

As an adult fan of Lego, who collects Star Wars models for display, this one was unmissable. With a mixture of white and blue pieces, the top of the ship is very pretty, even the sides are pretty and the additional escape pod on the front is well thought out, although the Minifigs do not quite fit inside it.The Minifigs provided are excellent, with Chewbacca looking better than he ever has before. Lando and his cape looks awesome and the droids are OK, although I would have preferred L3-37 as a minifig, rather than either of the droids supplied. The construction of the set is excellent, the chassis is very strong which makes it great for play (if you like that sort of thing), but be warned adult collectors, you will need a bigger than normal display case because ... MoreAs an adult fan of Lego, who collects Star Wars models for display, this one was unmissable. However, this one is clearly designed for play rather than display and as such the bottom does look a little unfinished. As a disabled adult, I find the placing of stickers difficult and would have preferred printed pieces instead, maybe this is something that Lego could consider in future sets?Overall, this is a great set. The construction is enjoyable and the time taken just seems to whizz by because it is such an absorbing build. The use of Technic elements makes the ship very strong and introduces some advanced concepts for younger builders.

kessel run millennium falcon
30 April 2018

As this is only my second millennium falcon I can say the build is very similar to the force awakens model. That being said comparing the two the kessel run model has less open room in the interior than the force awakens model. And the design in my opinion of the detachable pod in the front of the model could have been built up a little more to allow a mini figure to sit in the pod with the top closed. If you wish to put a figure in the pod and close the top the figure must be laying down which I did not like for play ablilty purposes. As well as the four seats around the game table should have been made to recline like in the TFA model to allow more than two figure to be seated there and still have the top close or the sides should have been build up a little more ... MoreAs this is only my second millennium falcon I can say the build is very similar to the force awakens model. But over all it is a nice looking model with more stability for handling in the “wooshing” motions and being able to pick it up from the back and sides without fear of dislodging pieces. It was a fun build as always and a nice addition to my collection but a little pricey. Thank you
