LEGO 75212 Star Wars Kessel Run Millennium Falcon

We bought this for my son...and me. I've wanted a Millennium Falcon Lego set since the first one came out almost 20 years ago, and finally, I've been able to add it to the collection.It's magnificent as both a displace piece and as a playset. The clean, sleek design of this ship would have Lando over the moon.There are a few oddities to be found with this Falcon: the cockpit interior is a little tricky to get Chewie into (who, I would argue is the most important character to have in the Falcon's cockpit) and the ramp is largely nonfunctional given its location and lack of height on the landing gear.I have seen the reviews indicting that you can't have the top closed and minifigures at all the areas of the ship, especially all the dejarik table seats. This is true, but as someone who has it for display for me, and for playability for my son, this isn't a real problem: when on display, the characters can be moved to other areas of the ship conducive to closing the lid, and when he's playing with the set, the possibilities are endless. The other point in the reviews about the gaps in the hull, again, while valid, have little impact on display, and no impact on my son's playability with the set.I have one complaint, and that is a lack of an L3 figure. Given this is "Lando's Falcon", and given L3's importance in the uprising on Kessel (Kessel Run Millennium Falcon after all) it's a surprise to not have her in this set (or, any set at this point).On the whole, I think this is a great set. There were a couple tricky parts of the build that it took me several sets to realize I had incorrect, and I was able to fix the problems easily in both areas. As someone who considers themselves a expert builder, this was a welcome surprise: to learn I can still learn something new about making a lego set after 25 years of building.

This ship was a solid build. The price per part is reasonable at about $.08 per part. There are a good number of figures and they are unique for the most part.The Falcon gets remade about every other year it seems. There are pretty close to 20 releases of the falcon now in various sizes and complexity. 7 of them have been figure sized sets. This version was a nice change of pace and reflects the movie version nicely. It doesn't stray too far from the expected Falcon build features but there are new details inside and it has a good swoosh factor for play. This one also makes a decent display piece as well.Pros: 7 Figures most of which are unique. There is a good part value. Lots of plate and wedge parts in something other than grey! I'm actually quite surprised at how much I enjoyed the building process. The technic was slightly confusing if you don't usually use technic, but if you pay attention throughout this build, you shouldn't have much trouble. I am a little bit disappointed by the gaps left in the top wedges that cover the interior. The figures are wonderful and a lot of detail was put into everything. One flaw with this detail is the annoying stickers for the grill details (six circles in the back) to be put on. I feel like those could have been an exception to be printed. The landing gear doesn't retract but it is perfectly fine. There is a landing ramp but it isn't quite large or tall enough to carry a figure, however it is nice to have. I also would have liked to get L3, but that might not be LEGO's fault. Overall, this set is wonderful.
