LEGO - Marvel Super Heroes PC-Software

This game is likely to be one of the best Lego video games out there today. Taking heroes and enemies from all-star cast of characters such as Fantastic Four, Avengers, Spiderman, and X-Men, this game is full of powerful characters to play with and experiment with. Each character has multiple moves/attacks which is a very nice touch. Animation is done quite well also. The mission levels are beautifully rendered with impressive amount of detail, including the Hellicarrier and local scenary in New York. I had a ton of fun playing this with my 7-year old daughter who learned the controls very quickly and laughed outloud many times at the humorous dialog. There is loads of content even after you finish the 8-hour or so campaign. I have no idea how stable the other version of this game are, but I know I've had my fair share of game crashing bugs and glitches on PS3. Loading times can vary from normal to long (like the Shield Helicarrier elevator). But did those kill my overall enjoyment of the game, of course not.The only real big issue these games seem to have since Lego Batman 2 or Lego Indiana Jones, is the camera. If you played this like how I did (with a child roughly 5 years old) it becomes a chore. It felt like I was fighting the camera more than Lego Doctor Doom or Loki. Depending on your TV, I suggest turning off the enhanced camera on all levels. Split screen will make it less of a headache.Regardless, the amount of unlockable lego characters and stuff to do in open world New York ... MoreI have no idea how stable the other version of this game are, but I know I've had my fair share of game crashing bugs and glitches on PS3. Some bonus objectives are not explained that well but if you dig or look around enough you can complete them. Even if you finished the story, you will only be 17% done, guaranteed.

I would really prefer to "love" this game instead of being forced to just "like" it, but what's to love about a game that has the worst flight control interface of any video game currently on the market? (More about this later.) Despite the incredibly awful flight controls, this game has been played with great enjoyment by myself, a handful of friends, and family members both younger and older than me. (For those of you curious as to my age, think Jack Benny.)I enjoy the Lego "stable" of games because they are built around Lego building "bricks" that I grew up with as a child (remember my "Jack Benny" reference above, when I was a kid, the "minifigures" you used with Lego bricks were either 1/72-scale Airfix plastic soldiers or 1/35-scale green Army men), they put a ... MoreI would really prefer to "love" this game instead of being forced to just "like" it, but what's to love about a game that has the worst flight control interface of any video game currently on the market? Really, Lego games have managed to successfully combine action-adventure games with elements of both arcade and third-person shooters, platformers, puzzlers, mazes, and both one-on-one and horde-type fighting games; and they do it following old-school cartoon violence rules (this means "without gore") and offer the opportunity to play cooperatively with a friend.I've played (and still play) quite a few Lego titles, starting back with the PS2 releases of "Star Wars: The Video Game", "Star Wars II: The Original Tr.

My kids and I love this game. When it works. I have to help them with frozen screens, characters getting stuck in the scenery, or some other such thing every single day. OK, fine. I don't expect games to be perfect. Then about a week ago, the game started freezing every time we try to use a Vehicle Call-in Point. EVERY. TIME. The kids are devastated, as they're not as interested in the actual gameplay as they are in reenacting stories that they make up with the superhero characters and, of course, all of the cool different vehicles--many of which we can't use anymore. Unless they happen to show up on the streets of Manhattan randomly. I've looked online and I'm not the only one with this issue. Or issues, plural. I've sent in a support ticket to the folks at Warner Bros, which is where Lego is directing people for questions with the game. If they can help me resolve the main freezing issue, I'll be happy to change my review to reflect my enjoyment of the game itself.**UPDATE** Warner Bros. couldn't fix the issue immediately, but a later update DID fix the main Call-In-Point freezing issue. My kids literally did a dance of joy. They can once again summon any vehicle they want. They're happy, I'm happy. And as promised, I'm upgrading my review. Thanks for the fix, Warner Bros!

(Note: If they ever release a patch that fixes the freezing issue, then disregard - I would give it 4 stars.)I was excited about this game because I grew up reading Marvel comics and have enjoyed playing the Lego games with my daughter. And we really loved this game... at first. We noticed it seemed to freeze a little more than most Lego games, and there were some issues where characters would get stuck on some levels and we couldn't get them unstuck without re-starting.But the main reason I am giving this game only one star is when we got to the final mission of the main storyline, the game froze. We tried it again, it froze again in the same spot. We tried it again, and again, and again. No luck.I went online to see if this was a common issue or perhaps a problem with our PS3 and I have seen that a lot of people seem to be having this same issue in the same part of the game. And reading the other reviews here on retrolio you can see that we are not alone.I plan to e-mail WB Games as well, but until this issue is fixed I cannot recommend this game to others. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME until they fix this. If they fix it I will revise my review because the game would have a lot going for it if it were able to be played all the way through.April 17 REVISION: They released a patch for this game last week and it has fixed the Galactus mission freezing issue for me. I am going to dock them a star for it happening in the first place but I now recommend this game. It is a lot of fun.

My husband and I have played many of the Lego games already, since they're some of the few co-op games you can play without fighting each other or having to get online to open the doors to temptation with others. (I know of two couples who met while playing video games online, despite the 'loving' and 'dedicated' relationships those folks were already in at the time. You've been warned!)This game is as fun as all the others, but better because you get to play as so many different Marvel characters. As you increase in levels, you are automatically equipped with new characters who have different powers, etc. It keeps it interesting.Sometimes, it takes a few minutes before you realize what you're supposed to be doing in a level, but once you do, it's fun trying to get ... MoreMy husband and I have played many of the Lego games already, since they're some of the few co-op games you can play without fighting each other or having to get online to open the doors to temptation with others. My husband and I are not experts, mind you. Savvy players might fly through this game, but we don't.I think this game is suitable for novices between the ages of 8 and 30.

It's a pretty sweet game but very much like every other Lego game so far. You run around and try to collect studs and somewhere around the billion stud mark you can start buying stuff that helps you win the game. It looks great though, and most of the Marvel super heroes are here and all are playable, though many aren't very useful. Hint: you might as well use Iron Man for just about everything, but waiting for the Mark 42 armor to roll around in the character menu is really time consuming. The character quips and cutscenes are entertaining, though for the life of me I can't skip them during free play and that's also really time consuming. I also kind of wish Deadpool wasn't the spokesman for the game, but I guess if it wasn't him it would've been Stan Lee and that ... MoreIt's a pretty sweet game but very much like every other Lego game so far. Another issue I've been having is glitches locking characters in the scenery, or the game just taxing the console and crashing the system One more minor con is load times. To be able to unlock various attributes you have to go to the helicarrier and get on the elevator, which triggers an elevator ride segment and it sometimes takes awhile or, in my case, occasionally crashes the game. Other times you wonder whether the game is loading or if it's locked up, but you know, for the graphics in this game it's worth it.All said, it's a fun inventive game. It's a bit repetitive at times, and like all Lego games, it doesn't really require skill, just time. It's all worth it, but honestly I liked Le.

We love, love the LEGO game series. We own every single one that has been released. I had extremely high hopes for this particular title as we really enjoy the Marvel franchise and playing within the world sounded fun.The game would be a five-star review if it weren't for the split-screen of the co-op play. We rarely play alone - it's always been a family game. And while the split-screen in other titles hasn't been perfect (being pulled towards the other person can be frustrating), they've been manageable. In this version, though, you can be standing right next to each other and the screen remains split, and often at a weird angle. It makes it more difficult to play as it's very distracting.I would still recommend this game, especially if you plan to play solo. But ... MoreWe love, love the LEGO game series. Purchased this game for my 6 yr old and he absolutely loves it. He found it fairly easy to play and was able to get to the end of the game within a few weeks and now enjoys playing to collect the coins to buy all of the cool Characters! There are SO many different characters and he knows and loves all of them and thinks it's soo cool that they all have different powers, some can fly, some can go invisible etc... His favorite is Iron Man Mark 42 due to his ability to shoot lasers and fly! Even my husband enjoyed playing with him and helping him open up new characters! The excitement when he gets a new guy is awesome! He's been playing it for a few months now and doesn't seem bored of it in any way. When he has a playdate it's the first game he and his friends play ... MorePurchased this game for my 6 yr old and he absolutely loves it. I'm a fan of Marvel (and D.C) super heroes and Lego and I didn't think TT Games could come up with a better game than Batman 2. I was so wrong. lego Marvel Super Heroes is as fantastic as Batman 2. It has every imaginable Marvel super hero. Ever since I've watched The Avengers, I've been wanting a game where all the Super Heroes unite and TT Games provides me with that in the form of mini Lego super heroes! I'm a few hours into the game, and so far my six-year-old nephew and I are loving it! Normally, he hates playing any game by himself and nags me to play with him. For the first time, he played it without me. I honestly gawked at him and told him to wait for me, since I also wanted to play it. He didn't wait. The graphics look absolutely gorgeous and this game has all the charm and personality like the other Lego titles. It's very child-friendly and has mild, cartoonish violence. You play a plethora of super heroes all in one game. My inner-child is over the moon! You start off with the Hulk and Iron Man and then you're later joined by Spidey. I thoroughly enjoyed making the ground shake with my massive thumps and throwing cars and massive objects into the air while playing as The Hulk. It was also fun transforming into Bruce Banner and then transforming into the Hulk (whenever you wish) while pressing the Triangle Button. My nephew had a blast flying through the air as Iron Man and checking out his powers. You're introduced to a new set of super heroes with each upcoming mi.
