Having just completed the build with my 2 Grandsons it was one of the best builds we have done, while it was at times complex for them it went together so well and the look on their faces when we put in on the stand was to me pure joy.Reading the book and looking back on the life of the shuttles made for a very rewarding time. The build itself is fantastic, and seeing it come together made us feel as if we were building something unique.A fantastic way to spend quality time with Grandkids , laughing and learning

The shipping from MyHobbies is always super fast and super well packaged and this was no exception. The only reason why this was slower this time was unrelated to an issue with MyHobbies and more with AusPost with the Sunshine (VIC) sorting plant being clogged. This was my 4th order from them and its amazing as usual and the set was bought to tie together will my Lego NASA ISS and will this being a set with practically 2 displayable sets in it, its going to look amazing. The price again is unbeatable, I have made 5 orders in the last year for Lego from online shopping and 4 of them come from here because I know that the price is unrivalled. After watching a documentary on the latest Space Telescope my granddaughter was adamant she wanted to work in the field of space. I thought this model would be a great encouragement for her in her quest for further studies. She loves it. Not rushing to build it, but taking care and her time to enjoy making it carefully. It is a solid build with some really interesting techniques being used in its internal construction. The telescope was made first and now she is working on the shuttle. It looks fabulous on her book shelf along with other LEGO models.

Made the mistake of not listening to the other reviews, and ordered this from best buy. I had it shipped to the store and picked it up there because i thought it would be in good condition. Nope. Box was open and looked like trash. Again, like eveyone else said, don’t order lego from best buy if you want a box that’s not trash
This Lego set is incredible. I love the level of detail of the shuttle as well as the Hubble Space Telescope. Brings back memories when I watch the maiden voyage of the shuttle Atlantis on TV with my classmates.I was missing a piece for the front right side of the shuttle but Lego.com made it super easy to order a new one. I basically enter the Lego set number and select which piece I was missing. Within 3 to 4 days I received the missing piece free of charge. Great Customer service from Lego. The overall sturdiness of the set is great. Overall I enjoyed putting together this set with my son.
This is a great Lego set. I had a lot of fun building it. I took my time and enjoyed it and thus it took me 14.5 hours, again that was me taking my time to really enjoy it. Building techniques are good. It is a solid build so no worry on it being flimsy. Has a nice stand with it too.One thing that is nice is it's like it is two sets in one. The Hubble Telescope could have easily been it's own set, due to this it feels like an added value to the whole experience. My own complaint that is with most sets with a plague is that it is a sticker plague and not printed piece. Really think Lego should have these printed on all sets. No idea why the plague for a set that is $100.00 is printed but for a $269.99 set it is a sticker, this goes for the Star Wars UCS sets that ... MoreThis is a great Lego set. This was one of the most detailed Lego sets I've done to date. The Hubble telescope would have easily been a kit in its own but being part of the set was a huge plus. Absolutely one of my favorites Lego sets to date. Very pleased with the finished results and surprised by the finished size. The only issue was the shipping process it went through. It looked like the package had gone through a tornado, luckily no damage to the parts themselves. Also the chrome stickers weren't the easiest thing to apply. Just take your time and don't get in a hurry while doing them.
Great set. It was a fun build that looks great in my home office. It is the perfect gift for a space nerd. The ailerons move by twisting one of the engine burners. The gear pops out when you push on a certain part of the shuttle. The bay doors open up to show the inside. The Hubble makes a good display piece on its own.
The Shuttle and Hubble telescope was really fun to build, not overly challenging with straightforward manual, but enough bricks to keep going for hours. It has intricate detail in cockpit and payload bay and elegant articulation of wing flaps and landing gear. It is hefty to hold and takes up a decent space but overall is a satisfying purchase. I just need a scale booster rocket set...Cons: no minifigs - even though the scale would never fit them inside, enough stickers to drive you nuts.
