The main body is tough enough to handle minor drops and the case that comes with it provides great protection. Switching between PC and tablet modem is a breeze and the fact that the tablet is smart enough to switch between the 2 modes when you effortlessly attach the keyboard is amazing. This tablet is hands down my go-to mobile device for entertainment due to its vibrant screen and great JBL speakers. And the cons. I know that you can not expect much at this price range but I am a tad bit disappointed with the performance of the battery and how long it takes to charge it. I understand that an amazing screen on a tab like this drains the battery but I did not expect it to drain so fast and did not expect it to take a long time to recharge when connected. As I said earlier pros of this Tab do overcome the cons and would I recommend this to my friends and family? YES, I do. We ordered one tablet a day after I got mine delivered. The whole experience of browsing Lenovo Canada website to order the tab, checking out and getting it delivered has been a breeze without any hassle. The customer service experience after purchase to get a replacement part was nothing like I have experienced before. 5 STAR RATING from me.

I've had my Tab P11 2nd gen tablet for a couple of weeks now and I can safely give it 5 stars based on what I got for the money. The Good: Online ordering was fairly easy and straight forward from Lenovo's website. The tablet was on sale and there were no hidden charges. Communication between me and Lenovo was very good. The tablet itself has a big screen with great resolution. This model comes with an e-pen that, when used, keeps fingerprints off the screen. When the pen nib comes close to the screen, it displays a small dot on the screen making precise screen taps every time. The pen can be used in a variety of ways, although I have yet to figure out all the functions. The sound on the tablet is good for a tablet. I decided to put the tablet through its paces so I installed Xbox games. I was surprised that many Xbox games play flawlessly on the tablet. Not every Xbox game is compatible mind you.The Middle: The overall battery life is not bad, but it's not the very best, long life battery. I can get a solid 6 hours out of it generally with medium to heavy usage. Again, this is not a bad battery, it's just not over the top good. The Not So Good: My first tablet was a Lenovo Tab 10 and it's biggest failing was the micro usb port which also charges the tablet. The port itself never fit the cables snuggly and after time the port stopped working. Unfortunately, the type C port on this tablet is the same, whereby the type C cable doesn't feel like it fits in the port securely. When the cable is attached, it seems like the weight of the cable puts a bit of torque on the port. I'm fearful that the same thing will happen to this tablet as my last tablet. I plan to buy a type C usb cable that the cord comes off on a 90 degree angle to reduce that torque. The pen works fine, but I've never found a tutorial on using it. It's not in the very small instruction booklet and I can't find it on my tablet. I think that such an important feature should have better representation and if there is a proper tutorial somewhere, it should stand out better considering I've looked and not found one.

I think this product is pretty good. I've never been someone to use a tablet before, so much of it has to do with me getting adjusted to a small screen and using my fingers and the pen. Sometimes, the programs run a bit slow, and it can freeze every now and then. The pen is okay, but it is a bit of an inconvenience that you have to buy new tips because they can get dull after using them a lot. I tend to accidentally press the button on the pen when I'm writing, which makes it pair or unpair with the tablet. Other than that, it's okay. I wish I could give it 5 stars, but with the keyboard that you can connect it to, I tend to type quicker than the keyboard tends to process, so I have to sometimes retype things. The keyboard might miss that I hit a specific key, and it leaves me having to take some time to respell what I typed. I tend to use this more for writing notes using OneNote and for watching/streaming shows. It does have a good sound system, since both sides of the tablet (if you hold it vertically) have speakers. I originally used this for work for reading, in case I needed a second screen to read while I would use my work laptop to type, and it works well that way.

Great 2 handed hardware, horrible Android version.
2 September 2024

Great hardware. I am not sure if if Lenovo modified Android or if Android has just got this bad. I had so much trouble copying the data from my old tablet to this one, then removing the bloatware I broke the drop down menu. I really hate the super small on screen navigation buttons, I used to use Android when there were physical buttons you could use when an app took over the whole screen, then Google decided to make them virtual buttons that an app could hide, now they are virtually unusable buttons you can make appear. I love the hardware, the size is a little bit, though I was kind of aware of that when I ordered it, though the major issue I am having is those really, really, really small navigation buttons. Sure I could research how to use the new gesture controls though it is bad enough when I "accidentally" launch the "install this stupid app" button while trying to exit out of a program that "rewards" me with a celebration advertisement. The only hardware design issue I will point out I dislike is there are no borders on this tablet, there is no edge where I can hold it with my fingers without activating the screen, this is as close to edge-edge glass as you can imagine with a tablet, which means as I can not hold the tablet in my palm with 1 hand, I no longer have the option to grab the beefy end with my fingers without activating the screen, so this is truly a 2 handed tablet.

Lenovo M9 - best technology ROI in many years
23 March 2024

I had previously purchased a Samsung tablet with an EMEA regional setting where the Android security update was a flaw so could not use it for work (VPN connection). This Lenovo tablet is exactly what I was looking for since you can upgrade to Android 13 which has the latest security update for Canada. Buying it directly from Lenovo was very easy and I appreciated the delivery option to request signature at delivery which is key due to thefts. After one month of using the tablet it's honestly the best technology ROI in many years. Very easy to set up, add cloud applications, security software and connect to VPN work cloud environment. Comments that applications can be sluggish or disconnect are honestly overrated because it often depends on the internet connection whilst in transit when roaming on your cellphone. Battery is solid for one weeks of use in the commute (10 hours) and there are many features to reduce energy consumption.I also had purchased the matching Lenovo case to protect the tablet and unfortunately returned it due to the limited robustness/quality. Tablets are like a cellphone where the case can make or break your investment, so I got something more robust elsewhere for less.Note: this item was purchased during a promotion and though there is a more recent version it's the 9 inch screen size that was key for commuting. If you are using the tablet at home or in the plane only it could be worth buying the 10 inch model. Kids don't need a larger screen since their hands are smaller!

M9 is great and really good size.
8 December 2023

The M9 is a great size to have. Really light, looks good and well made. The M9 is about the same weight as the M8. Probably use it for traveling the most.It is really good because Lenovo does not put a lot of bloatware that can bog down the device and take up memory. I bought the higher priced one with the 3gb of ram and handles everything very well what I need it for. I just use it to surf the internet, listen to music, and watch the occasional video.I have the M8 which has been excellent and use it every day, but sometimes you want a little bigger screen. I found the M10 a little too big and heavy to hold in your hand like a book, but the M10 is good if you use more like a laptop. I do wish Lenovo brought back the M8 Yoga tablet (and perhaps M9 Yoga) which was my favorite tablet of all time because it had a great handle to hold the tablet easily and comfortably for long durations. Also, the battery lasted a long time. The only issue I have found is not with Lenovo M9, but the Android 13. If you choose the standard 3-button navigation, Android 13 adds a taskbar at the bottom that you can't remove it. It also puts the 3-button navigation to the side. On top of that, you can't see the 3-buttons in light mode theme. You have to choose dark-mode theme for the buttons to appear. It is an annoyance for sure. Hopefully an Android 13 update allows removal of the taskbar in the future.

Much improved over my P11 Plus
21 November 2023

The writing experience is heavily improved compared to the P11 Plus I had. I don't have to think about "writing on a tablet" anymore, I can just "write" as I normally would and that's awesome. The pen is much more comfortable to hold (over the P11 Plus pen), and the single button is now recessed, making accidental clicks of it less likely.I would prefer the button to be customizable. You cannot set the button up to whatever you want and I found I missed having the one-click eraser that was on my P11 Plus pen.To take that ability away, and not include an "eraser" on the back of the pen is the only misstep. The screen is not only larger, but heavily improved with a higher resolution, and HDR support, which is nothing less than amazing to look at.Benchmarks: I ... MoreThe writing experience is heavily improved compared to the P11 Plus I had. The Multicore score was over 2000 (p12).The keyboard is slightly larger to match the larger display and this is good, making it even easier to type.Being a little larger does mean less room on your lap to use it.Compared to a laptop, that can support the weight of it's display with it's hinges, requiring less lap room. Also compared to the p11 plus, which was small enough to fit easily on any lap.I am a smaller person and I still can fit it on my lap, but devices that cannot hold up their own display, will always be best suited to a hard surface anyway. It's the trade-off, but given all the benefits of it, I'd say it's worth it.

Productivity In A Bundle

I chose this Lenovo tablet to replace a Samsung S7FE tablet and it has not disappointed. the ThinkPad inspired keyboard was a worthwhile edition. it instantly converts a usable tablet to an even more usable laptop- style solution. The keys and touchpad seen responsive. I was unsure about the kickstand (all my previous tablets have had cases that convert into stands, it seems s table enough and clicks back in place easily when not needed. The pen is still work in progress. any handwriting recognition applications are from third parties, whereas Samsung included this feature as part of their own screen keyboard experience. It has got a more 'productive professional or creative feel to it. The picture quality and sound are good. There were several different bundles available when I ordered. Have a good broouse before you buy. If I needed another device, I'd definitely have a look what Lenovo had to offer.

Works well for my needs with adjustments
29 February 2024

I've owned a few tablets in timeline and I seemed to lean towards the 7 or 8 inch types. My few 10 inch tablets just seemed like they were too large to take on trips or use a ebook reader when i'm out and about with it. So when I saw a 9 inch tablet I thought this may be my 'Goldielocks' device for my 70th Birthday. So far it is, with adjustments. I can't say I like the default launcher much. I spent some time getting used to it and just found it awkward. So now I'm exploring 3rd party launchers to make it work like I'm used to. Android will at least allow me make custom changes to my device, which I appreciate. The display is pretty good for me and battery life is great. I did get the Lenovo M9 case because I couldn't tell what type of glass was included and added a screen protector as well. Performance for my use it excellent as I read more than watch videos with forays into streaming music. The speakers work well enougn but I didn't plan on replacing me stereo system with this. Bluetooth streaming works well with external headphones or speaker. Overall as a general purpose device, it works very well for my purposes. I did find that closing the cover does not put the tablet to sleep, which has caused my battery to drain some when I forget to manually turn it off. The boot time is acceptable for a tablet in this price range. So yes I'm very happy with this and plan to wear it out like the others I've owned, some of which are still working as weather forecasting displays.

great little low/mid level tablet.

I purchased this to upgrade my 10 year old from a fire tablet. He likes the increased screen size, increased battery life, and increased touch screen responsiveness and speed. The important things to him are no ads, fast tap reaction, no crashing, and no powering down, so this checks all the boxes. You can add a microSD card (up to 2 TB I think) for certain app and movie storage (I store movies for power/internet outages). It has face unlock as well as pin, typical android gestures. You can also install the amazon app store so he could bring over his purchased games from Amazon. You can pair bluetooth keyboards, controllers, stream to wireless displays as is typical with Android. He also likes the lightly textured back. Less slippery than a smooth back but less bulky than a case. The only complaint my son had was the box lol. (He found te design too hard to open and not good for storing the tablet after opening...yeah, my kid is weird). I think as long as you are realistic about what you need, you will be happy. If you need a data plan or gps mapping, than you need something with a sim slot. If you want an Apple IOS, then you need an IPAD, if you want top of the line, why are you looking at a budget device, you need to pay more than $100 for top of the line. It is a very solid and stable budget tablet running on WIFI and Android.
