Overall the display is a good value as an entry level 21:9 monitor. I would have preferred the 32" variant of this monitor but space constraints caused by the stand not allowing monitor to be placed lower than 3 3/4" from my desk I was unable to do so. A height adjustment to allow a min. distance of 2" to allow for air flow would be welcome. The second and most annoying issue is the stupid control joystick and the even worse on screen software setting controls. The software suite is laughable in it's non-functionality and the joystick is touchy as heck and very limited in function as well. A bank of control buttons along the right or bottom edge would be superior. I am sure the engineers were "very excited" to install this annoyance almost as much as engineers loved ... MoreOverall the display is a good value as an entry level 21:9 monitor. I do hope the cheaper joystick allowed the LG CEO more money to buy golf balls (Grinning) because I cannot see where this "feature" can be considered a user benefit. Aside from those issues the monitor meets my needs and the display is what I expected for the price point as long as I don't have to change the display settings I'll get by.

I bought this monitor specifically for work. I am not a gamer, but I spend an inordinate amount of time on the computer for work and use the one that I purchased at my remote office and job trailer with a Dell XPS15 Laptop. The ability to split the screen with the Display Manager software and set it to my needs was welcomed. I can view file folders, specifications and drawings in CAD and PDF, Word Docs, Excel Files, Email and any other combination of files and folders needed to be efficient. The only issue is the line separation between the windows that gives about a ¼” gap. The resolution, contrast and durability of this monitor is good given the fact that I’m constantly moving it from my job trailer to the remote office, so it gets abused. It is well worth the investment.

Simple enough from a reputable brand. While there are specs that some gamers would want to see (maybe 100-144hz refresh vs the more dated feeling 75hz), if you're coming from 1080p 60hz then this is a good stepping stone for someone on a budget wanting an ultrawide and is okay with this not being a 1440p display. The panel itself is super light which makes using it's VESA 100 mount on other stands a breeze. I was able to throw it on an old stand I have that does rotate and swivel and that has helped. The stand that is otherwise included leaves a lot to be desired but this seems true for any sub 500$ ultrawide monitor.Aside from stand and refresh rate, my only other observation worth noting is that the color could be better. The price point definitely helped.

I don't use this for gaming, just for work. If you don't have enough room for two separate monitors, this widescreen is good enough to have 2 apps running side by side. This monitor has a 3.5mm audio jack -- pick another LG model if you want built in speakers.Quality is great, no stuck/dead pixels on my monitor.Cons (lowering Feature scores for these points):However, as a computer tech, if you ever need to reinstall Windows or run anything at VGA/SVGA resolutions (640x480 or 800x600 etc), this LG is not good for this, as the image is scaled up to the point you can't read the text. You may want to hang on to your old monitor just for "Safemode recovery purposes" -- @LG you need to come up with a firmware update to fix this, I'm surprised that your own PC techs ... MoreI don't use this for gaming, just for work. The plugs should be downward facing like other monitors... I don't know why LG placed them that way, so the monitor arm doesn't position as well as the monitor it is replacing.
Bought this brand new on 10/23/19 and hooked it up today on 10/24/19. Had some weird issues with the PC recognizing it properly or setting the correct refresh/resolution. Once that was fixed, I was amazed how great this thing looks, much better than having two screen side by side. Then after about an hour the screen turned off for 5 seconds, then came back on. A few minutes later it did the same thing, then didn't do it for another hour. Over the past 6 hours it's turned off about 8 times randomly. A quick google search shows a lot of others are having this same issue with LG Ultrawides. Updating the Firmware via USB-C and running their software does not fix it. I've never had a monitor do this, especially out of the box. Such a shame, it was $209 at a Best Buy ... MoreBought this brand new on 10/23/19 and hooked it up today on 10/24/19. This monitor is a no-brainer for those wanting an ultrawide, and at a fair price point. At 29", the display is effectively the same height as a 24", but wider horizontally. At its retail price, it is easily recommendable for someone who is purchasing their first monitor, or those who want a second one, or for a secondary vertical display. However, colour reproduction is spotty and the colour profiles provided actually degrades the image quality, despite being only a 1080p panel in the first place. The advertised HDR10 feature is essentially an "HDR Effect" profile that can be selected in its menus, but comes at a significant cost of image quality: everything appears grainy, edges are rough, and contrast feels like badly colour-corrected SDR content rather than true ... MoreThis monitor is a no-brainer for those wanting an ultrawide, and at a fair price point. A 1080p panel at this size (and its 34" variant) means that text can often appear blurry and rough due to improper scaling, and your laptop screen may already be of a higher quality than this display, but at this price, it is an understandable trade-off.
This LG is my first 34" monitor and it did not disappoint me in any way as i own a 55" LG tv and loved the screen quality so i thought why not try there monitor WOW it blows my two other monitors out of the water! The single toggle multi button is easy to navigate or use the powerful software it comes with for easy adjustments with the screen split and resolution / light settings etc.The connections are easy to access that are positioned straight out the back there are two HDMI input connections i was real skeptical about these connections i wanted DP but i was extremely suprised how good the display looked. Now as for the stand i did not try it as i have a pedistal mount so i cant review it but the reviews are not all pos for that but the build quality of the ... MoreThis LG is my first 34" monitor and it did not disappoint me in any way as i own a 55" LG tv and loved the screen quality so i thought why not try there monitor WOW it blows my two other monitors out of the water! Now as for the stand i did not try it as i have a pedistal mount so i cant review it but the reviews are not all pos for that but the build quality of the monitor is very high quality it feels like a well made monitor and the mount on the back has no felx or feels cheap.I have owned this for about three weeks now and this was on sale at the time of purchase but went on clearance again so i got some moeny back!!Between getting this on clearance and selling my old monitor i got a GREAT deal so im very pleased!!FYI This comes with a power adapter that is odd its not like the small brick its small and is integrated into the plug so this does get a little warm but seems to be normal.I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE LOOKING TO GET RID OF A DUAL MONITOR SETUP OR EXPAND YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
Honestly I have no major complaints about this monitor. It is an IPS pannel so it looks very good. Its not the brightest display so it doesnt support real hdr but if your expecting that your looking at another few hundred dollars. The 75 hz refresh rate is nice when playing games but be warned that this has more pixels to push than 1080p pannels so you will need slightly better hardware. It is surprisingly asthetically pleasing and would work in any place(office, home, gaming). The thin bessels are nice. It's not a huge display but i sit pretty close so its quite fine for me. The monitor comes with a stand that looks fine and is easy to set up but it only has tilt adjustment. Because of the lack of curvurature, size and price, this would work as a great secondary vertical display. I only have a few complaints about this monitor. 1: It comes in non-eco-friendly packaging. 2: The I/O isn't great: 2 HDMI in, 1 AUX passthrough, 1 AC(I think) power cord, 3:The monitro setting controller isn't great. It's in the middle which makes it slightly unerganomic and its kind of weird. Although, this said, The menue is easy to navigate and has lots of costomizationand clicking left or right is surprisingly satisfying. Conclusion: This is the best price - performance ultrawide IPS monitor on the market. 5 Star deffinitely recomend.
I’m an architecture student who’s been working on some projects that needs extensive amount of screen-estate to make time more efficient for the job.I’ll start with the packaging, the box and foam protection that came with it is excellent. I bought this from Best Buy on September 2nd and would like to return it because it's past the return period. Since the base makes the monitor point downward, I bought a stand to make it higher. I have progressive lenses on my glasses and find at the end of the day my neck hurts and my eyes hurt from trying to see. No wonder this is discontinued. Customer service at LG told me to mount it on the wall. I would have to completely redo my home office to make that feasible. Thanks LG! Thanks Best Buy!
