I absolutely love this light kit. This is only the second light kit I’ve ever installed, but this new version (LMB 2.0) is so much better than the old version. First off being able to install this while building the Lego set makes it so much easier to install than to take apart an already finished set to install the lights. Second the new flat wires fit so well between the bricks that you can’t even tell they are there. And third the included clips to hide the extra lengths of wire make the final set look so clean. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to light up their Lego sets to give these a try, you won’t be disappointed. I only hope they make these kits available for older sets (specifically older modular buildings). I would love to light up whole Lego ... MoreI absolutely love this light kit. This was rather complicated compared to the other light kits I've done so far. However it is worth the effort - the extra effects really work well - especially the animated flux capacitor lighting. There are a LOT of wires to run for the headlights, taillights and blue power conduits. It will require patience to route everything underneath and twist neatly. I used spare bricks to secure the expansion boards and wiring bundles to the bottom of the floor pan. I powered it all with the AA battery pack and some rechargeables. As an unexpected bonus, the AA battery pack hides neatly behind the BTTF placard that LEGO provides.I integrated the lighting as the kit went together. I don't think this really saves any time or trouble though, as you are forced to do things ... MoreThis was rather complicated compared to the other light kits I've done so far. I don't think this really saves any time or trouble though, as you are forced to do things out of sequence. For once I would have really welcomed printed instructions versus trying to zip around the PDF; zooming in and out to figure out the details. Finally, I skipped the wheel lighting. I did not like how the LED hubcaps looked when the wheels are down, and that they immobilize the wheels, and felt like there was already enough fragile stuff going on underneath. I played with adding the LEDs behind the wheels, and then behind the hubcaps, but the effect is dramatically reduced. So, I don't know, I may add them later, or find a use for them in something else... so I only knock off one star because I think LMB should offer a cheaper version without the LED hubcaps. Having said that, there is no reason that they wouldn't work and look spectacular if you are willing to sacrifice a little bit of the original appeal of the kit. Fortunately LMB's instructions are very clear at making that point and giving you options. The pix show well how it stacks up to the Eaglemoss 1/8 scale BTTF DMC. At a fraction of the cost. The tiny stock DMC-12 is MetalEarth's version. Finally I can't get over how durable these LMB components are, especially the micros. They seem delicate, but they are really quite tough.Recommend this light kit but patience is necessary and skip the coffee - you'll need steady hands.

So this was the first time attempting a light kit. Looking at the Delorean without lights just wasn’t enough so after looking at a ton of different brands and videos I decided to go with Light My Bricks. I have some pros and cons. It being my first time doing this most reviews said it had good directions and looked great. I will echo those sentiments. Directions were good and it does in fact look great. However, I somehow managed to break an 8 port board (luckily they throw in a spare) and a side and the dashboard light I either pinched a cable too hard or something bc they didn’t end up working. By the time I realized I had put in too much time and wasn’t about to take it apart and untwist cables. This brings me to my last wish. The 2.0 looks so much easier with flat cables and numbered bags and the ONLY reason I didn’t upgrade was bc the 2.0 doesn’t have the wheel lights. Those were too cool not to get. So yes, the LMB kit is great, definitely elevated the build and was also a good learning experience.

I love the light kit! Once it's done it's quite fun to show off. The build itself was a little tough in some areas but that's NOT LMB's fault, it just the nature of how this Lego model was designed to begin with. The only criticism I would have would be the length of some the wires were quite a bit too long. The "twist-up" method to bundle and conceal them still did not quite want to work on the undercarriage. I just have to be careful not to mess with that area too much when demonstrating the kit.
Excellent quality once again from Game Of Bricks! Super happy with the final outcome. What I thought may be a tricky installation was simplified with step by step instructions.Game Of Bricks uses ingenious techniques to design these light kits and The Time Machine is no different(the lighting on the wheels using strip lighting is very clever) plus the very cool rear lights and OUTATIME license plate! The music is awesome, with the classic Back To The Future theme, plus snips of Power Of Love and Johnny B Goode. With the added sound effects you can hear the finished model screech up to 88MPH!! Once again a fantastic end result and more great work from the best in business,Game Of Bricks.
I have found a new hate in this world and it is this kit. I've had to take the entire set apart because something got messed up in the process of the teardown. The doors just wouldn't stay on anymore. Beyond that, the micro lights for the rear lights were almost impossible unless I have about 3 more hands and much smaller fingers. I was trying needle nose pliers and tweezers and it's still difficult since it's hard to hold those with one hand and put two lego together with the other.. At least one microconnector got damaged trying to somehow get it into the extension board, though the light did still work (only some plastic broke off). When I rebuild, I haven't convinced myself if it's worth trying to get the lights back on. Very cool! At first I wasn't too sure I was going to be able to put this together correctly as I never have much luck trying to wire things together in the past. But the instructions are clear and you get to test your setup at almost every stage of build. all the wires are packed in their own bag for each stage of build, so that makes it fairly simple. The only stage I had to fiddle with was the wiring position so the lights would flicker and flash at the correct time. But since the connector block has its own set on leds that flicker and replicates how the rest of the circuit will react I just wired the circuit with the block that acted as i thought it should and the whole system works and looks great on the car. I was a bit sceptical about purchasing this kit as I am not best known for my patience when it comes to small fiddly things but as long as you take it step by step and take it slowly it was not an issue at all…..and my god it really brings this kit alive, it looks amazing! Trust me, if I can do it, so can you!I was very surprised how the wires between the bricks really don’t upset the look of the model, I had a feeling things wouldn’t seat back correctly but this was not the case at all, everything went back together perfectly. Only point worth mentioning is that if you have the kit with the light up wheels, you will not be able to roll the wheels anymore. This doesn’t bother me as in ‘hover mode’ the Delorean looks fantastic.I buy Lego every Christmas, to do ... MoreI was a bit sceptical about purchasing this kit as I am not best known for my patience when it comes to small fiddly things but as long as you take it step by step and take it slowly it was not an issue at all…..and my god it really brings this kit alive, it looks amazing! OK, so I'm a Geek. I've just finished building another of icon from my childhood. From the first moment that first moment that Einstein hit 88 mph there isn't anyone I know that didn't want one of these. This was another fun build and Lego did a really a nice job with capturing the details. I really like that you can build the car from all 3 films. I've gone with part 2 obviously and thanks to Game of Bricks and Wicked Brick it's got the finishing touches that bring it to life. These lights were easy to install but take your time and follow the instructions. The only one that I would say you can change is how you hide the light strips on the exhausts. Check out the video for the light shows.
Just fitted this. Another excellent light kit from Game of Bricks. The combination of tiny individual LEDs on wires plus Lego compatible bricks pre-wired with lights makes for a very easy installation and a fabulous effect.I bought the Standard version because I wanted the light up wheels.I didn't realise this also includes a light sensor board - actually I think more accurately a proximity sensor board. It's not very clear but this is fitted underneath next to the red lever which controls the wheels. When the wheels are in normal mode, the lights on the wheels and in the big exhaust (?) sections at the back are off. Flip the lever to fold the wheels and they light up.In the end I removed the clever board, as I have this fixed on display and want all the ... MoreJust fitted this.
