Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton Yarn - Magenta - 3.5oz/100g

This shop is a life-saver! I'm using 24/7 cotton in a pastel rainbow palette for a summer dress. I unexpectedly ran out of this color right when I was getting to the second sleeve of the bodice!! All hope was lost, or so I thought... until I found this shop, which happened to have the exact same dye lot as my yarn!! Hallelujah! They're an exact perfect match, and I couldn't be any happier! If I had been forced to use a different color for the other sleeve, I know it would have looked terrible! (A rainbow striped dress doesn't need any help being any uglier, LOL!) Thank you so much for saving my project!

Disappointed - color discoloration after washing

After finally finishing all the pieces of my sweater I hand washed them in Seventh Generation Free&Clear detergent and cold water. You would thing that would cause no problems, however, yarn got small discolored patches. Sometimes they would be two stitches long, sometimes more. My back piece had 4 of these discolored patches. One of my sleeves got two as well. Front piece and the other sleeve were fine. I contacted Lion Brand customer service with request to help me figure out what caused it. First they suggested to over-dye all the pieces, then l was told it might have been from washing my pieces in clorox residue in my washing bowl. Excellent yarn, size down your hook

I originally disliked this yarn. I followed the recommended hook size of 4mm (Susan Bates aluminum bamboo hook) and found it nearly impossible to work with. After upgrading to Clover Amour hooks and getting a wider variety of sizes, I tried this yarn again. With a 3.5mm Clover hook, this yarn was lovely to work with. Excellent stitch definition and a slight stretch.

Good

I bought this for a pattern. Yarn ran too thin for CYC 4 but it was okay. A little scratchier than I had predicted but very shiny and durable and color doesn't bleed. I needed to buy more than double what the pattern called for though, not sure if this was yarn's fault or pattern's. Altogether, very good yarn but a little off

Love this brand for doll making

I love this particular yarn from Lion Brand. It glides very smoothly with my hook and doesn't fray or unravel like some other similar worsted weight yarns I've tried. If you do a lot of doll making or amigurumis, I highly recommend this particular brand. It comes in so many different colors, you can practically find any shade to use for any doll character.

My new favorite yarn

I bought this yarn several months ago and crocheted a beautiful ruana. I am an advanced beginner, and this yarn was easy to use, did not split, and is very durable. There are quite a few color choices, and I would love even more! I bought the yarn again to make another ruana for my sister!

Review of Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton

Very very easy cotton to crochet with. Mercerized so no DREARED splitting that occurs with most ply cottons. Also it is a medium weight 4 cotton mercerized yarn which is pretty hard to find - usually these yarns are sport or fingering weight. Looks polished and crochets up extremely easily. Great for summer tops or for giving cotton projects a more luxe look. Drapes decently too!

Thrilled with this cotton yarn!

I've been using a few different brands for most of my cotton yarn projects, but earlier this month I came across a pattern for a table runner that called for 100% mercerized cotton. After doing some research, I came across Lion Brand 24/7 yarn. I picked the three colors I wanted and commenced my project. What a difference this yarn makes! I LOVE the way it works up! It has a springiness/stretch that is very nice and the color selections are very good. I'm just finishing up this project and I do believe I'll buy some more of this yarn and make matching placemats as well. Also, I've been wanting to make my daughter-in-law some summer tank tops and I do believe this is just the perfect cotton to use for that, as well. Very poor quality.

I'm pretty disappointed in this yarn... The reviews and videos I've seen lead me to believe it was great to work with. It's really not. I bought 2 rolls. There's a sort of roughness to it that makes it hard for my hook to pull through loops (tried different size and brand hooks with similar results). Im working with black yarn and the color appears to be fading (pulled from the center) and it has little white hairs embedded in the yarn. It looks like a cat rolled on it before it was balled. The outside of the roll is also fuzzy with this hair. Purchased at Joann fabrics... I'll be sticking to hobby lobby for my cotton yarns.
