This is one of my all time favorite blends of blue. It is gorgeous in water and skies. Dynamic as a highlight in portraits and animals. When mixed with white it creates a rich, soft tinting. Try it in the sky for clouds and darken by shading with black or adding your favorite blue...like a phthalo blue. Experiment adding some green or yellow shades and create some beautiful dimension in water pieces. Truly a must have on your palette.

I paint for about two decades now and I have no idea how it is that I never had this paint in my stash of acrylic paint. Lately, I started to experiment with gelatin monoprinting and I use Payne's Grey a lot in backgrounds, until it dawned on me that Indigo would be another interesting dark, moody color to use as a background. So I ordered this particular Indigo by Liquitex Profesional Paints when it was offered at a reasonable price, thinking that if I don't like it then not much harm done. It turns out that I like it very much, and for me looks like this color has the right balance of pigment load, transparency and darkness that I need.#sweepstakes

I have been using this brand for almost 40 years and I am never disappointed in it's performance. the heavy body is creamy and smooth and works well with it's supporting products like gel and pastes. There is a wide range of single pigment colors available in store which is convenient mid project. The best thing about Liquitex is I can work them like a fast drying oil. They glaze beautifully when thinned and perform fantastic doing impasto.

I use about 23 or so different Liquitex Heavy Body colors, of which at least 9 are shades of blues. I also use their acrylic inks & quite a few of their mediums, especially the most texture giving ones such as heavy molding paste, Liquithick, Glass Beads, Ceramic Stucco, & Heavy Gesso. My only complaint is so few of the blue shades- especially anything teal, turquoise, or in the aqua family come in anything bigger than a 2 oz tube, 4 oz if I'm lucky. Even traditional blues don't come in jars or tubs or even often 4 oz tubes! I use extreme texture for my sculptural paintings which means using a lot of paint. I also use their paints to tint clay paint I make myself, adobe (unfired) sculptures, & paper sculptures, so I need a lot of paint & it would be nice if all ... Salespeople always friendly. Good products. You have a young employee, I believe Tracy who’s a real specialist on your paints. Has a true and educated background in a difficult area to purchase. She asks if you need help and goes beyond to assist to buy the right item. Very invaluable to customers who are artists. Very personable too. Great PR.
Love Liquitex paints. They have the prettiest colors and the opaqueness and consistency of the paints are ideal and make them a breeze to work with.I've seen so many people online say that if you're a beginner, it's ok to use cheap paints but that couldn't be more untrue. Using more expensive paint makes a WORLD of difference, both in the quality of the colors and the ease of the painting process itself! You get exactly what you pay for. Not to mention, this magenta color is GORGEOUS. Opaque, vibrant, and blends well with other colors.
I've been using Liquitex for all my painting needs since the late 60's. As a Fine Arts Painter, I wouldn't use anything else. When my wife and I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Greensburg PA, I was delighted to discover a Michaels store 10 minutes from our home. Michaels is my go to place for all my supplies. So besides paint I purchase my canvasses and an occasional brush. My wife loves Michaels for all her craft needs. One of the reasons we buy from Michaels is their coupon rewards program. So besides having the supplies I need, I save money at Michaels. Thank you Michaels for being my neighbor.
It doesn't get much better than this for acrylic paint. The tone and pigmentation is rich - I mix with some water and use for my underpainting, mix with white & a tad of yellow ochre or cadmium yellow & a touch of cadmium red for light skin tones, or mix with cobalt blue for a rich near-black tone. The paint is slightly translucent - as it should be - but has solid coverage power when mixed with opaque tones (such as white) - a little bit will go a long ways. In summary, I love Liquitex heavy body acrylics for their professional quality and the bang for your buck and I absolutely love the burnt sienna tone!
This Bright Aqua Green was the perfect accent color in the blue sky I created at a plein air event this past weekend. It perfectly added the right amount of green to the sky without making it too green. The color is just blue enough to blend seamlessly with the other blue I was using. Great color, coverage and stretch ability. This is one of my favorite colors. I will buy it again. Superb quality!
My first choice in acrylic paint as a professional artist is Liquitex Heavy Body. I have not found better pigments. “What brand of paint are you using?” is often asked. Perhaps it’s the brilliance and strength of the colors.I also thin the acrylic Liquitex Heavy Body paint to air brush consistency, painting on clothing, surfboards, canvas and mural surfaces.
