(919 reviews)

With a mouthful of creamy artisan gelato, lovingly wrapped in soft and delightfully delicate mochi dough, each bite of mochi serves up an exciting new flavour adventure. Discover the sweet nuttiness of pistachios roasted in honey and welcome a whole new world of flavour into your home. Some ice creams can consist of up to 90% air, not ours. The higher density of our gelato means it's not as soft straight out the freezer but results in a more intense flavour with patience. Enjoy the little things.

Lovely. Little Moons Honey Roasted Pistachio mochi bites are individual portions of ice cream wrapped in a rice dough casing. You can find these little treats in the frozen dessert section and they are priced at $10. 00 for six mochi bites. Let your mochi bite sit at room temperature for 3-4 minutes before enjoying. The ice cream contains little pieces of pistachio throughout, and is a lovely blend of the honey and pistachio flavours. This frozen dessert is vegan friendly, gluten free and contains no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. The Little Moon mochi bites are a product of the United Kingdom. Even though this is an expensive sample, I would definitely buy them again as a special treat.

Lovely inside, unpalatable exterior! I recently sampled the Belgian chocolate and hazelnut mochi bites and was not impressed by the flavour and especially the price. This Honey roasted pistachio is more flavoursome. I love pistachio and enjoyed the ice cream centre which was quite delicious, however the exterior coating is just as unpalatable as the chocolate ones. I ate half of one and then just ate the ice cream from the other half, discarding the doughy coating. I removed the ice cream centre out of one more and ate that as I was enjoying the taste but threw out all of the exterior. I wouldn’t purchase these again only to be eating the ice cream and throwing out the exterior. I could get a tub of pistachio ice cream and eat it all and it wouldn’t be as expensive. ... MoreLovely inside, unpalatable exterior! Light and not overly sweet. ✳️ vegan and gluten free. Contains nuts✅ no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives My second Mochi bites experience. For those that don’t know, it’s a frozen dessert, wrapped in soft rice dough. This one was slightly more difficult to source, neither of my local Woolworths stocked this flavour so I had to do a search and venture out. It’s found in the freezer section, it’s 6 for $10 ($8 if you find on special, still making it over $1 each). It was relatively easy to locate amongst the other desserts, a bit more stand out with its green box compared to the chocolate ones. It’s made in the UK, again it’s disappointing. Exterior and interior packaging can be recycled, though the film cover will need to go in the rubbish. Expiration date is October 2023. So the instructions are to give your mochi 5 minutes to defrost. Yes this was hard and I still really wanted to start devouring! Previously read and mentioned about rice texture, still didn’t mind it. The dough was soft, I thought it was crepe thinness. I liked that there wasn’t an apparent powder on the rice dough like the chocolate. The dough didn’t have too much taste to it. They are small, similar to a golf ball size and 71 calories per ball (again it was a sample of 2 ). To the eye, I think the chocolate mochi presented better. These ones are similar to a matcha and nut colour, unlike the picture presented on the packaging. The centre ice-cream was ok. It was quite subtle, with a few nuts. The icecream was creamy and I liked the subtle pistachio flavour though I prefer the chocolate richness more. It isn’t overly sweet, but I didn’t really get the honey roasted flavour part, just the nut part. No weird aftertaste with these either. I did enjoy these, my personal preference is the chocolate mochi, but price is the major factor in why I probably wouldn’t run out to purchase these again.

Not for me. I loved the clean, fresh look of the packaging of each variety of these bites in the freezer. The green graphic for pistachio is easily identifiable. I was surprised at the cost of these - $10 for 6 bites of ice cream - less than 200g or close to $45 per kg. Each ball of this ice cream treat sits in its own compartment of the wrapped inner tray ensuring it retains its shape. The bites were smaller than I expected given the size of the pack as you can gauge by the dessertspoonInstructions on the package are to leave these for 5 minutes before consuming. I took a bite - gluey, chewy and stodgy! The pistachio ice cream was lovely - I couldn’t detect any honey but my pleasure was ruined by the gelatinous outer dough. This treat is totally dependent on texture and mouthfeel both of which I did not like. Thank you Bunch and Woolworths for the opportunity to trial these but I will definitely not buy them.

Different and Delicious - Part 2! We have tried mochi balls before and I had the Belgian Chocolate and Hazelnut version as another sample, so I was interested to compare these. The mochi balls were easy to find in the ice cream section. At $10 for the six balls, they are expensive. I knew what to expect in relation to the rice dough on the outside. I enjoy the slightly rubbery but easy to chew dough and it works well with the lovely creamy filling. The dough dissolves quickly in the mouth. The box says the dough is sweet, but it's not overly so. I prefer to eat the mochi straight from the freezer instead of waiting for 5 minutes. They are the perfect texture for me. Interesting treat. I had really enjoyed the chocolate Mochi bites in this range, so was thrilled to receive the pistachio flavour. So imagine my disappointment when I discovered these bites aren’t dairy free, like the chocolate ones, so it was up to my family to taste test for me (and my husband was definitely not complaining! So much so that he gobbled them all up before I could get any pictures )Found in the ice cream freezer, this product was easy to locate and in plentiful supply. Very pricey for a small product but for people looking for a unique dessert, I highly recommend.

What are these things?? One small ball of ice-cream, one giant confusion for Bunch-kind!I had been curious about these Little Moons, so I was excited to get a Bunch sample to try them, because for $10 per box, they weren't something I wanted to pay that much for to try. I got them out of the freezer 5 minutes before eating, as per instructed, and I don't think it wouldn't have mattered if I had got them out five hours before eating because they just don't melt! The outer texture is weird. I put them in hot water in our kitchen sink to melt them, and they sat in there for 15 minutes and didn't melt at all!I poured boiling water from the kettle over them, and they STILL didn't melt! It had us asking " what are these things??" I had to stir them around to get them softened and I am now concerned that our sink may become blocked next week!I'm glad I tried them - even gladder that I didn't have to pay $10 to do so! Thanks Bunch! I've given them one star for the fun of them, they are something we will always remember, but not for good reason I'm afraid!

Hands down the best flavour out of the three in the freezer! I have purchased these before and have tried all three flavours. I was happy to receive this sample because this flavour was far and away my favourite flavour of the three!!At $10 each they are quite a treat - the quantity of product is low for this cost but if you can score them for $8 a packet when on special that helps the budget a little especially if you are buying more than one packet. For frozen supermarket mochi this flavour is good. Mild in taste with some nutty pistachio pieces for crunch and texture against the smooth ice cream, these bites are perfect for a portion controlled treat. They do not compare to fresh authentic mochi that tend to be bigger in size with a thinner rice dough. However these are infact pricer as you tend to buy them individually and they are not found in mainstream supermarkets. For the price, I would re-buy this flavour but not the other two varieties. Whilst they taste nice, they are not special enough to pay a premium price at the supermarket (from memory the other two are chocolate and hazelnut and mango and passionfruit). If these were the same price $10 but double the size and covered with a thinner rice dough - they’d easily be 5/5 and I’d buy them regularly!!
