I've resolved my prior problem with it only transferring data at 100 megabit. This is all based on assumption, since they lack any useful documentation to explain things. I assume that the switch did not think the network line was of good enough quality for gigabit, so it only transferred at 100 megabit. The old line between modem and switch was an old 50 foot Cat 5E. Should be sufficient, but there was really nothing else I could point a finger at. Running under this assumption, I ran brand new Cat 6 through my walls, replacing the old 5E. I put ends on myself, which allowed me to shorten the run to more like 35 feet, without a coil of extra length at the end. Pros: Bought an LGS105 about a year ago and have been very satisfied with the quality and performance. I particularly liked the fact that the sockets were on the back of the unit and the indicator lights (power, link) were on the front. This made it ideal to place on a desktop. It was a nicely designed product.Cons: The LGS105 I ordered a few weeks back and am now writing about is disappointing in that Cisco have redesigned the box so that the indicator lights and the sockets are adjacent to each other on the front of the unit, but the power connector is on the back of the unit. Now a rubbish design.

Pros: I have 2 already running for 3 years straight, so are stable. Also running trunk lines in and multiple VAN'S out on each switch, they do what I need and not to bad to setup.Cons: Not seen any updates so far. Not sure what the attack vector on a level 2 device is but still would like to see updates.
For the last few months this gigabit switch has been faultlessly routing packets around my home network. Even with simultaneous gaming, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify and NAS backup (Time Machine) traffic, I have experienced no issues. I do wish it had dedicated packet collision LEDs, but there are other (perhaps more informative) ways of diagnosing network issues. Recommended for anyone who needs an 8 port or less gigabit switch.
This switch was new and in an unopened package. It contained some basic setup instructions if you require them and a power adapter. I had used this switch to connect our home security camera system and everything connected without any problems. I feel that it was a good product for the price.
