Lodge Cast Iron 10.5" Round Griddle
The pan for breakfast! The Lodge cast iron griddle with slightly raised rim is ideal for preparing pancakes or fried eggs, making it perfect for breakfast in the morning. Even in grandmother's day, people were aware of the excellent properties of cast iron cookware. Good heat conduction, storage, versatile use and durability. Lodge Cast Iron makes cooking an unforgettable experience. The practical thing about the Lodge griddle pan with a diameter of 26.7 cm is that it is already baked in at the factory and therefore ready to use! The easy-to-grip handle allows for better control and easy transportation. The only thing you should be more careful about is maintenance. The Lodge Cast Iron pans are already very well baked, so only lukewarm water and a brush made of natural fibers are sufficient to clean the pan. After repeated use, you can burn in a new patina with a care paste.

This review is more of a how-to for people who didn’t look up how to care for cast iron before using this. This pan is beautiful and deserves your pancakes and in return only asks some easy cast iron care. Note: the silicone handle is not safe because the pan slides out. I used an oven mitt and it worked fine. I use it to make dosas (Indian pancake-crepes). First try was a fail, the batter burned on, and I wanted to give up. Then I tasted the part that had come unstuck… it was so much better than from the nonstick pan! I knew I had to keep trying. I cleaned up the icky burnt on mess by pouring water inside the pan, turning the heat to medium, and scraping with a metal utensil. I quickly poured the water out, made sure all the mess was gone, and it looked good as ... MoreThis review is more of a how-to for people who didn’t look up how to care for cast iron before using this. Then I tasted the part that had come unstuck… it was so much better than from the nonstick pan! I knew I had to keep trying. I cleaned up the icky burnt on mess by pouring water inside the pan, turning the heat to medium, and scraping with a metal utensil. I quickly poured the water out, made sure all the mess was gone, and it looked good as new! Immediately, to avoid oxidation from the water, I put it on medium heat to dry all the water. Once it looked dry, I confirmed by splashing some drops of water onto the pan. It sizzled and evaporated immediately. Perfect, the pan is hot enough to have no more moisture! Then I added oil. It didn’t take long to heat the oil, and the same splash test confirmed that the oil and pan were hot enough to not have moisture. I let the hot pan drink the oil for a few minutes. Now the moment of truth… the second dosa (pancake). With the pan heated to splash test standards, I added more oil, and when it passed the splash test, I turned the heat to low and added my batter. This is where my method deviates from the typical crêpe instructions. I let it cook briefly, and as soon as it looks like the bottom has solidified, I use my spatula to gently poke at the sides of the pancake to coax it up away from the pan. Then gradually I can get under it and eventually unstick the whole pancake from the pan. Once it’s unstuck, it’s smooth sailing. Add more oil if it wants some, and move the pancake around now and then, but if you’ve gotten to this point it shouldn’t stick now and you can turn the heat up again if you want some browning. Incidentally, this is my first time cooking with cast iron. I’ve cooked on carbon steel a few times now and lots of that knowledge is transferable. If I can do it, you can too, as long as you remember the cardinal rule of non-stick cast iron cooking and care: MOISTURE IS THE ENEMY, and HEAT EVAPORATES MOISTURE. Just remember that and you can figure it out easily.

This is the perfect crêpe pan be sure to get a handle protector for for this pan you can get it at the manufactures website of Walmart doesn’t sell it. Great product always loved the cast iron. Thing is it’s $6 cheaper in the store. Noticed many products slightly marked up $1/$3 extra on the Walmart then again, some items slightly cheaper online.. guess we really need to pay attention these days. Also seems like the shoppers bring sub par products and rotten or almost spoiled produce on purpose! Now that’s just blasphemy. Heads up!

The griddle is perfectly flat to use on the induction cooktop. For the Indian cooking, I have never had a challenge with this griddle. The most important tip to follow while using this is to keep the heat at the minimum or 1-2 point than the minimum. The griddle does take some time to get heated, but once heated it holds the heat for a long time and good amount of heat. Any extra temperature will make the food get stuck on it and burning it. I didn’t season it again, but applied oil on it and heated the griddle until there was fumes. And then lowered the heat and started cooking on it. Ideal for making dosa, chapatis and parathas and healthy alternative for non stick pans.
This skillet is a powerhouse when it comes to cooking. Its remarkable heat retention and even distribution make it perfect for everything from searing steaks to baking cornbread. Its versatility is unmatched, and it goes from stovetop to oven with ease. The pre-seasoning is a game-changer; it adds a rich, natural non-stick finish that improves with time. Cleaning is a breeze – a quick wipe and it's ready for the next culinary adventure.
I was searching for an affordable cast iron griddle without inside ridges. - and this one does the job. It does have a small side ridge around it, but not deep like a pan, but also not completely flat that a cracked egg yolk would roll off the pan.Its smooth surface is perfect for cooking freshly made roti and tortillas. Even heating and cooking throughout. I could never get them to cook right on Teflon, non- stick pans.I also use it to make my favorite grilled toast - butter both sides of bread and comes out perfect. Obviously great for grilled cheese sandwiches and also cooking scrambled eggs, pancakes, searing my favorite steak, heating store bought tortillas for quesadillas, searing chicken fajitas - come to think of it - I can't stop using it as my number ... MoreI was searching for an affordable cast iron griddle without inside ridges. - and this one does the job. I use a tiny amount of soap (mostly for my ADD ick factor) and wipe off excess moisture. I place it on a warm burner to completely dry off. After it cools, I run a tiny drop of cooking oil and rub it in to re-season it.Otherwise, I'm glad I finally replaced my lost, misplaced, or stolen one.
We love this pan! I usually don't like cast iron because of the high maintenance but this pan is very easy. We LOVE to make smash burgers on this pan. Make sure to smash them BEFORE placing them on the hot pan. YUM! After cooking run under hot water and wash without soap and place back on the burner that you just cooked on and it will dry it. Then wipe it with oil to season it and leave on the burner to cool. Super easy! Wish it were bigger but at the same time it's perfect for the weight and cooking for two!
I was a little skeptical while buying this product for Indian flat bread i.e. chapatis considering the need for regular seasoning n all. But I would like to tell that my chapatis are coming off very well with this griddle. I dont even need to season it on a daily basis. Nd this is a healthy option as compared to the regular non stick tawas or griddles available for Indian chapatis.
I just wrote a review for the skillet basically it is the same! The skillet’s surface provides excellent non-stick capabilities once properly seasoned, which enhances the cooking experience. I also appreciate that it’s versatile and can be used on various heat sources, including stovetops, ovens, and even campfires. However, my only gripe is that the handles do not come with heat protection. I’ve found myself accidentally touching the hot handle more than once, which can be quite painful. It would be a significant improvement if Lodge included heat-resistant covers for the handles to prevent burns. In summary, the Lodge Cast Iron Skillet is a fantastic kitchen tool that delivers on quality and versatility. Just be cautious of the hot handles, or consider ... MoreI just wrote a review for the skillet basically it is the same! Ive had this thing two weeks %26 ive used it a hundred times. I just look for any reason to use it. I made my nephew eat 6 grilled cheese sandwiches just because i wanted to use this wonderful thing. Its big enough to fit two sandwiches at a time. Its perfectly seasoned right out of the box. I gave it a quick wash %26 immediately cooked with it. I see people complain about sticking, those people have to be using it on the hottest setting. If you use it like you should use cast iron, you wont have any trouble.
