I got this mouse after replacing my old Deathadder (2013) model, which served its purpose well but eventually died. After scouring through a number of websites, the consensus seems to be that this mouse is one of the best on the market and after playing with it for a couple weeks, I wholeheartedly agree. The mouse is extremely versatile and includes a number of weights that can be added to heighten the drag and slow down your movement. For particularly strong people, this can be a plus, as well as people who do a lot of FPS sniping who want to slow down their DPS.In addition, the mouse lights up and can pulse the light blue coloration in and out, though I haven't figured out if there's a way to change the color. I don't think there is. Shame, as I got this ... MoreI got this mouse after replacing my old Deathadder (2013) model, which served its purpose well but eventually died. I don't think there is. Shame, as I got this specifically to pair with the Logitech G910 Orion keyboard and it would make so much sense to have them both match their colors together.Minor gripe aside, the mouse responds beautifully. I have it placed on a Logitech 240 Gaming Mouse Pad and it responds with the right amount of drag I need. There is even a preset in the Logitech software for that particular mousepad so it adjusts the DPI instantly - they test these mice on those mousepads (micepads?) and so there's no manual adjustment needed. But speaking of manual adjustment, you can! Just run the software, run your mouse in a figure 8 pattern, and it'll adjust automatically to whatever mousepad you use. Even without that, I have to credit them with a lot of focus placed on the Proteus Core's DPI automatic adjustment. It works well on anything. The Proteus Core also comes with some programmable buttons on the side, which I haven't used yet. I've read that they're useful but are a little oddly placed. I do tend to find myself accidentally clicking one from time to time, hence my hesitation to bind them to a particular function. I'm certain I'll get used to that in time. All in all, this mouse is the BEST mouse I've ever used and is a worthy successor to the Deathadder. It's much more customizeable and responds perfectly to whatever I put it through. Highly recommended!

Logitech, you have done it again!I have been looking for a Logitech-based mouse that has more buttons than the G403 (there's 6 on the G403) , but also has less than the insane amount found on the G600 MMO (i.e. there's 12 alone on the left side and that's not including other buttons elsewhere on the top of the G600).While the G403 felt like it needed a few more buttons somewhere and maybe the G600 has too many on the left side to suit me (i.e. there's 12 and it can be cumbersome), the G503 strikes the perfect balance between those two mice. The G503 has the same amount of buttons on the left side (i.e. there's 2), but on the top-left side of the mouse is also 2 more buttons, which really helps matters.Size-wise: the G503 feels a bit bigger than the G403, but ... MoreLogitech, you have done it again!I have been looking for a Logitech-based mouse that has more buttons than the G403 (there's 6 on the G403) , but also has less than the insane amount found on the G600 MMO (i.e. there's 12 alone on the left side and that's not including other buttons elsewhere on the top of the G600).While the G403 felt like it needed a few more buttons somewhere and maybe the G600 has too many on the left side to suit me (i.e. there's 12 and it can be cumbersome), the G503 strikes the perfect balance between those two mice. The G503 has the same amount of buttons on the left side (i.e. there's 2), but on the top-left side of the mouse is also 2 more buttons, which really helps matters.Size-wise: the G503 feels a bit bigger than the G403, but nowhere as monstrous as the G600 (the G600 has a huge and steep learning curve, especially in getting used to how big it is) - so it was pretty easy for me to get used to the G502's size, especially when compared to the G600 MMO.As always with Logitech Gaming Products (whether mice or keyboards), make sure you grab the Logitech Gaming Software online from their site. With this program, you can change the settings of the speed on the mouse; the RGB lighting colors & its lighting schemes; and even create different profiles for your mouse (or any other gaming product) for every game you have installed, which is awesome. If a game isn't already in their database, you can always add it yourself and point to it - and you're good to go and profile that game out. Simply fantastic.Logitech has always had great mice, hard-ware wise. And as always, their Logitech Gaming Software for profiling each game and your mouse's RGB is top notch.Simply put: yet again, Logitech delivers greatness.

I have been playing PC games for 4 yrs or so and played with just a reg mouse until I bought Battlefield 2 bad company. Even though i still suck..lol. the extra buttons on this mouse keeps your hands off the keyboard which for me is great. G-Shift... if you need it when pushed it gives you a whole new set of commands so those 11 buttonsjust became 20. hope this is helpfull.

I am the type of person that does a lot of research on products before I purchase them. This was no exception when purchasing this mouse, it finally came down to this mouse or a Razer mouse. In the end this mouse won out for the additional buttons and weight customization.I purchased this mouse to replace a wireless Logitech mouse that I really loved, but I wanted something that had some extra buttons, better DPI, and was corded for playing PC games. I was able to purchase this mouse for around $33 after using two Best Buy reward certificates so that was also a great reason I purchased this one as well.Pros:Easy to use software with a ton of profiles for different games you may playEasy to switch out weights to give you a heavy or a lightweight mouse. (I use three weights in mine and to me it is the perfect balance and reminds me of the wireless mouse I used and also use at work)The DPI is just perfect and easy to adjust on the fly, between fast paced games where you need to be able to move and aim quickly, or hold down one button and drop the DPI down for those accurate times.Amount of buttons are great, I am able to set different commands to it as needed for different games and allow me to easily run quick macros and more with just a mouse click.Cons:Lighting - The does not affect the performance of the mouse at all, but it would be nice to change the color of the lighting to something other than blue, I have a Corsair K70 that is Red LED, and it would be nice to match it.Case - Yes, it would be pretty nice to have a case of some sort included with this mouse, I sometimes pack up stuff and take them to a friends house to game with him, so it would be nice to put this mouse in a case so I don't end up loosing the weights and such. This mouse is also great for general computer use, I do some graphics editing here and there, and to be able to easily decrease the DPI of the mouse to be a little more accurate in stuff is pretty great. This is a mouse I would recommend to any gamer, to me the response is just perfect and the amount of buttons is perfect for FPS and more.
This is a great mouse, but one that is rather limiting too. For instance, the default settings for the mouse uses the two pointer finger buttons for increasing and decreasing the DPI of the mouse. It's very easy to touch these buttons instead of actually clicking when playing games like Batman Arkham Knight or Counter Strike. Speaking of Counter Strike and other first person shooters (FPS# games, the sniper button on default settings is rather useless unless you move the mouse a huge distance. This is easily fixed though in the Logitech Gaming Software program that allows you to repurpose all buttons and the set the sniper button to trigger at a higher DPI than it automatically uses by default. The only real issue I have with this other than touching the DPI ... MoreThis is a great mouse, but one that is rather limiting too. This is easily fixed though in the Logitech Gaming Software program that allows you to repurpose all buttons and the set the sniper button to trigger at a higher DPI than it automatically uses by default. The only real issue I have with this other than touching the DPI changing buttons, is that the LED lights are blue... I know this seems petty, but I also have the RGB LED lighted Logitech Orion Spark keyboard and the keyboard is rather nice on breathing mode #but can't match the speed of the breathing of the mouse easily) and the instance you start changing colors on it from the default blue, it throws your desktop off any color schemes you might use because the mouse isn't RGB light capable.Oh and the weights on the mouse are a great help. I prefer a very heavy mouse and this helped me get that feeling. It is good to have the weights in it. But the weights don't come out easily. In fact, I have to pry them out with a screwdriver since they fit so tightly into the mouse.I only wish this mouse had the MMO style buttons on it as well because I love the shape of it.OH. I use this mouse also for my 3D content creation work, and the sniper button comes in handy when you're trying to move things just a few millimeters. Most mice I've used in the past I had to manually adjust the DPI using the DPI buttons, but this I just use the sniper button to get to the lower DPI setting when I need it.
First off, ergonomics are great! It's a mouse for right-handed people, but it feels great! Everything seems designed well for hand positioning. Any type of mouse gripper should be able to use it. Second, the clicks and programmability are amazing. Each click for buttons are crisp and feel about equal on my previous mouse. I had a problem with the back/forward buttons on the side where when you clicked the back button, you would need to push it all the way for it to register. However, when you clicked the forward button, you would need to drive it halfway for it to register. No problems here with consistency! Every switch being programmable is something helpful for me. The lighting is also customizable, and that's good if you want it to match your setup. The onboard memory has also served helpful for setting different profiles for different games I play. It makes everything a whole lot easier. Finally, the weights and dual-mode scroll wheel are nice add-ons. The mouse is already quite heavy, but if you want to add more weight with the weights with the mouse, you can customize which section of the mouse should be heavier. The tactile mode of the scroll wheel is what I usually use, but the free-scroll mode can be used for something like scrolling through a long pdf file. I've onlyencountered two problems with the mouse. The first is that the middle click is sensitive. This is probably just something wrong with my model, but before I even click down on the middle click I push a tiny bit, and it triggers the button to press. It requires a very small amount of pressure to register the click, and this has affected me when scrolling, as I sometimes put some pressure on the scroll wheel and that's triggered the middle click in a browser. To solve this, I simply made the Sniper Button my middle click. This is most likely just something wrong with my model, but I can't complain too much for the price I got it for. Next, when clicking left click you may occasionally hit the DPI buttons to the side. However, as long as you're careful enough, it hasn't been much of a problem for me. Overall, this is a great, well-built mouse which is built for performance!
This review is based on a great price that I got this mouse for which was $30. (normally $79.99?)I bought it online and the original G502 that was sent to me had a bad left button(doesn't register sometimes), and a creaky middle scroll speed changer button. So I went to a store and did an even change for another, which also had a creaky middle scroll speed changer button.Design and fit of this mouse is very good, however build quality is a bit questionable.I've owned several Logitech mouses before and although they performed good for their model and price, they didn't last too long.Lets see how long this will last...I personally don't use all the buttons on this nice looking mouse, so I can't really comment on the functionality aspect, other than the fact ... MoreThis review is based on a great price that I got this mouse for which was $30. It is also useful for those in the professional field, the infinite scroll option allows you to scan through documents and code much faster. The option of adjustable weights is a pro, but for me it became a con.The mouse is heavy without any weights added to it which was a pretty big con for me because I am used to light mice and it was confusing since this is not a wireless mouse. Most mice that I have tested in the gaming market are light without weights added, wireless mice being the only types to have a heavy weight to them. I believe the heavy weight is contributed to the scroll wheel that seems to be made of heavy metal, I said the scroll wheel is arguably the best because it feels incredible and the infinite scroll option is a huge plus, but I believe the material gives the overall weight of the mouse more weight which is a big con for me.The rubber feeling side grips seem to be gaining traction in the gaming community unfortunately with reviewers complaining that it should be a standard option. I absolutely hate rubberized side grips or any type of grips for that matter. My skin is very oily and I participate in long gaming sessions with Mice that have no side grips and never drop or loose control of the mouse, but most seem to find side grips a must so take my displeasure with side grips with a grain of salt. The grips tend to dig into my skin and create discomfort for me personally. The button placement is well done, but I found the buttons themselves to be a bit too rigid for my grip style. The side buttons have a sharp angle to them and depending on your grip style your thumb will hit that angle instead of the intended area. I would always hit that angle which was a pretty big annoyance. I use the G400s as my daily driver and it has rounded soft touch buttons which give a much more comfortable feel. I would loved to of seen them put these or something similar into the 502.I wanted to give this mouse 2 stars instead of 3, but I feel my complaints don't seem to carry over to most and this mouse really is amazing, but I can't use it because of all the uncomfortable things I listed above. Spending extra money on a gaming peripheral should get you everything you are after and then some, so if you are in the same boat as me then don't just settle and continue with me to look for the ideal mouse.
i absolutely LOVE this mouse, at first i was skeptical of the hyper scroll, but having given it a test run i found that my fears were unfounded. i really hope that they dont discontinue this mouse anytime soon so i can buy 3 backups lol. to be honest i didnt have much faith in Logitech gaming hardware before this, as i had bought some of thier 3rd party PC gamepads back in 2007-2009 and it wasnt all that great, but they are priced much better than most of the Razer/razr (spellcheck) gear is so i gave it a shot. i found it at Best Buy on Black Friday over a year ago, and the mouse works exactly now as it did out of the box, surprisingly solid for someone who games almost every night, thats THOUSANDS of clicks, with no signs of stopping. the tune-able weight is great ... Morei absolutely LOVE this mouse, at first i was skeptical of the hyper scroll, but having given it a test run i found that my fears were unfounded. i really hope that they dont discontinue this mouse anytime soon so i can buy 3 backups lol. to be honest i didnt have much faith in Logitech gaming hardware before this, as i had bought some of thier 3rd party PC gamepads back in 2007-2009 and it wasnt all that great, but they are priced much better than most of the Razer/razr (spellcheck) gear is so i gave it a shot. i found it at Best Buy on Black Friday over a year ago, and the mouse works exactly now as it did out of the box, surprisingly solid for someone who games almost every night, thats THOUSANDS of clicks, with no signs of stopping. the tune-able weight is great for personalizing to your play-style, and its very precise, in fact it took some getting used to at first. you wont really ever need to turn mouse acceleration on in the in-game menus. if this mouse could be $15-20 cheaper it would absolutely DOMINATE the market. i recommend it to anyone who asks me about gaming mice, it only has 11 buttons, which for the MMO heavy crowd might seem lacking, but they are placed in very easy to reach spots so that you can almost reflexively use them, which is great for a dedicated Voice Chat button, or a crouch button to relieve your left ctrl button. i cant find any cons except the price. i feel that 79.99 is a bit steep for a mouse. but i admit ill pay it anyway if i ever have to replace my mouse. to be honest i would not buy it UNLESS you plan on using it for gaming or some task that requires a more precise mouse.
I own a lot of mice. I've used different brands but mainly stick with Logitech. I own several models, but had settled on the G9x which was an absolute dream to use with a claw grip. It was light without weights and configurable to taste, with a great laser sensor, on-the-fly adjustable DPI sensitivity settings that could be configured (5 options on-the-fly, set to whatever DPI you wanted each to be, sequentially switched by a rocker switch) and had onboard memory so it could be taken to any computer once configured and be ready to go. The G502 is basically the progression of this line of mice. It has a nice rubberized side coating for grip, an even more accurate sensor (up to 12000 DPI), extra buttons including the new "sniper button" that by default will instantly ... MoreI own a lot of mice. The G502 is basically the progression of this line of mice. It has a nice rubberized side coating for grip, an even more accurate sensor (up to 12000 DPI), extra buttons including the new "sniper button" that by default will instantly put you at a specific DPI setting of your choice, usually a low number like 200 DPI for really accurate aiming while zoomed in a game, though this button can be configured to whatever you want. The mouse has on-the-fly DPI switching as well, plus a number of extra buttons to program. The braided cables are always nice, and help keep the cable from snagging things on your desk as it adds both durability to the cable (protection) and makes it slicker so it doesn't grab onto things easily. This mouse also works great with a claw grip, but seems that it would be fine with a palm grip as well as it's slightly longer than the G9x was, but isn't overly tall like the G700, G500 series or G602 seem to be. My only gripe about this mouse is the base weight. With all the gear on it, 32-bit processor, memory, quality switches, etc., it's a tad on the heavy side, even without included adjustment weights. So far it hasn't caused any wrist or hand soreness, but it might not be the mouse for you if you like a really lightweight mouse. I will say the slight increase in weight does help make it stay put so you aren't having the cursor move slightly any time you pull your hand away from the mouse for any reason.
