Pros• Zero noticeable latency relative to the wired counterpart. Absolutely none it's mind-blowing how good these are• Very ergonomic, I use it for hours on end without fatigue• More shortcuts through the programmable buttons + multiple profiles than you'll know what to do with. It's nice to know I have always have the option of switching out a CMD+S with a mouse click if I wanted to, although I probably never will.• Excellent battery life, I could have done with 24 hours too since I charge everything else everyday anyway lol but the rated 48-60 is ridiculous and much appreciated.• The packaging is superb, I honestly felt like they put effort into designing it and making sure the customer feels special while opening it. Almost like an Apple product.• The plug ... MorePros• Zero noticeable latency relative to the wired counterpart. Almost like an Apple product.• The plug n play nature is fantastic. I plugged the USB receiver in and bam, mouse works! No need to ever open G Hub if all you want to do is left click and right click (although if you're spending $150 on a mouse I should hope you intend to do more than that). The DPI out of the box was quite slow for my taste but all it takes is a couple of clicks to fix it.• I love G Hub, there seems to be a fair amount of hate for it in the community but the UI is fantastic (the UX is more of a con, listed below) and the number of options is mind-blowing. I love personalization, and I love being able to make the mouse completely my own, tailored to my work/gaming needs. I use it more for work funnily enough, it is fantastic from a productivity standpoint.• There is an option to add weights if you think it's too light, once again love the configurability.• Powerplay compatibility means if I want to shell out another $100 (and sadly I likely will) then I can use the mouse forever without having to ever charge it. It's a definite luxury not a necessity, so I appreciate them giving us the option.Cons• Only for right-handed, they don't make a left-handed version• I managed to chip it a little on the inside while trying to remove the cover, it should be slightly more resistant• I don't like having to read the manual for G Hub, I prefer that such software be intuitive enough a layman could figure it out. I'm a software engineer and still took a while to figure out how to use multiple profiles while not in onboard mode• The G4 button is ridiculously uncomfortable to get to, I'm not even sure why it's there except to boost the number of programmable buttons lol. I would have preferred a button on the right I could push with my pinky.• The elephant in the room, I could probably have gotten similar performance out of a $50 mouse nowadays so $150 is pricey for sure, but for the plethora of button shortcuts available and the sheer joy of knowing it is absolutely perfect in every way is perhaps worth it.• The G logo is hidden by the hand most of the times so I would have preferred there to be RGB effects elsewhere on the mouse as well, but eh.• The stepwise scroll wheel feels really wonky to me, I always use infinite. Perhaps because I'm on a Macbook idk• It's only available in black, which is not a deal breaker obviously since it delivers in most other ways but continuing the trend of configurability I would have liked to see some color options, perhaps even engravings on request. I don't ever intend to sell it to another soul, so why the heck not :D

After going through countless gaming mice over the years that boast all the latest tech and features, I've narrowed down three core components that matter the most to me: mouse shape and how it conforms to my hand, the sensor, and weight. While these three core components are of most significance to me, the additional components such as the scroll wheel, mouse skates, physical buttons, and software are the defining factors that complete the overall package. They ultimately help aid my decision in whether I make a mouse my daily driver or not. After about a week's use, I'm convinced that Logitech has delivered a flagship product worthy of a daily driver. For someone with medium to large hands, I find the mouse shape of this Logitech G502X plus right on the cusp of absolute perfection. For context, my hand measures 7.5" height (from the base of my wrist to the tip of my middle finger) by 4.25" width (measuring across my palm including my thumb). While mouse shape and size ultimately comes down to personal preference, I find the shape of this G502X perfect for interchanging between my preferred palm and claw grip. It also has a more prominent hump than the smaller Viper Ultimate V2 which adds an ergonomic comfort that is not present in the Viper Ultimate. While in some scenarios (mainly competitive FPS short gaming sessions) I may still prefer the more low profile shape of the Viper Ultimate V2 Pro, I'm noticing that the more ergo shape of this G502X makes for a much more comfortable experience for long gaming sessions. It does so without compromising on my performance either as I've found the ability to maneuver the mouse to be about the same. While the weight of 104 grams is significantly heavier than a lot of today's popular gaming mice, for my medium to large hands, this was a non issue. I also found that the heavier weight of this mouse is easily counteracted by the stellar mouse shape and thumb rest which provided some of the best handling I've ever experienced. And if you were a big fan of the original G502 (which I certainly was back in the day!), you'll be happy to know that it's now lighter than the original 114 grams. In terms of the Hero 25k sensor, there's really not much to say other than it's a flawless sensor. I played countless hours of Overwatch, Counter-Strike GO, Vanguard, Warzone, Doom Eternal, etc., and was very impressed with it's insanely accurate tracking performance. I never experienced any sort of input lag, stutter, or delays when using it wirelessly. Another thing I really love is it's default lift off distance out of the box. When using AWPs or scouts in CS:GO, this is something that has always been immediately apparent to me. I either have to mess with LOD settings or scrap the mouse all together. This G502X is well balanced in this regard. Testing the sensor across a multitude of different screen sizes and resolutions with different DPI settings, the tracking always felt perfect. When it comes to the additional hardware components, this mouse is just well built. The pure PTFE feet glide effortlessly on practically any surface. I'm also a huge fan of the infinite scroll wheel. It's something I find myself using more and more for productivity work. It's also very sturdy with prominent clicks. In terms of the physical buttons, Logitech's new hybrid optical switches feel extremely satisfying. By far the best switches I've ever felt on a mouse. This is something that Logitech has always gotten right and now it's better than ever. They feel very crisp with great tactile actuation. This has always been a bit of a sore point on my Viper Ultimate V2 since the optical switches feel a bit mushy. Of course, this new G502X plus comes with a sniper button as was originally featured back when the G502 was first debuted. I love that Logitech now gives you the option to remove it altogether and replace it with an unobtrusive button that's included in the box. Another feature that I like is the additional G7 and G8 buttons which allow you to map them to whatever you want. By default, they function as DPI toggles (up/down) which is a feature that is being stripped on a lot of new flagship gaming mice in order to make them as light as possible (not a fan!). Lastly, the Logitech G Hub software is a joy to use. It's minimalistic and intuitive design interface accompanied by a plethora of different customization options, just helps to accent what is already a top notch product. G-Hub tells you exactly how much battery you have left (down to the power consumption of your mouse), allows you to set multiple profiles, map buttons, change RGB lighting, create macros, and customize DPI speeds. I love the "on-board memory mode" option. This is perfect for those who don't want to mess with software. Just set everything once and those changes will be saved onto the physical on-board memory of the mouse so your settings will just automatically load whenever you boot your PC.I was not expecting to like this mouse as much as I did. Although I was a big fan of the original G502, somewhere down the line I got caught up in the ultra light weight gaming mouse trend. So much so, that I had forgotten how iconic this mouse shape (and it's thumb rest) is and how well it conforms to my hand; an easy tradeoff for a slightly heavier mouse that most users can easily adapt to. Combine that with useful software, sleek PTFE feet, amazing hybrid optical switches, a flawless sensor, and an epic scroll wheel, and you have one of the best, if not THE best, flagship gaming mice currently out!

I’ve been married to the legendary G502 mouse line since 2016: starting with the Proteus Spectrum, graduating to my first Hero in 2018, cord-cutting with the game-changing Lifespeed wireless model in 2019, and now with the newest iteration of goodness…the G502 X Plus. There is always an initial worry when anyone says ‘new and improved’, my fear immediately goes to changes to the form factor. To me, no computer accessory is as intimate to my gaming comfort as my mouse, you take forever to find the one that is perfect fit for you, and once you do you hope it never dies because everything inevitably changes. MoreI’ve been married to the legendary G502 mouse line since 2016: starting with the Proteus Spectrum, graduating to my first Hero in 2018, cord-cutting with the game-changing Lifespeed wireless model in 2019, and now with the newest iteration of goodness…the G502 X Plus. Logitech has done a superb job of staying true to the classic look and feel that made the G502 model the legend that it is, I was not at all sure how they were going to continue that trend. Why? Because I can see the slightly different ergonomics of the two side buttons, the mouse wheel and the DPI switch. I can tell the thumb rest is elongated, I can feel the new texture on left and right side grips and the confident clicks of the new switches…all subtle changes against the backdrop of the new Lightsync RGB 8-zone lighting area crowning the palm rest. Even with all the easily distinguishable changes to the build, it still rests easy under my grip in that same familiar position, fitting like a glove (or maybe vice versa…). It still feels like home, yet the differences seek attention. Here is what you notice.Still the same old greatness:Buttons: you get more buttons than a non-MMO mouse has a right to have, up from 11 programmable buttons on the old to 13 on the new. Map away to your hearts contentScroll Wheel: same hyper fast scroll potential, it’s a one-button switch between comfortable clicks and free spinning action, swap out to whatever your pleasure is. Wheel remains tiltable left and rightHero 25K sensor – still crushing worlds with sub-micron tracking, zero compromises given when your sensor is among the best out there.Lightspeed wireless – my original experience with first-gen Lightspeed was that it essentially felt like zero-lag- I literally tested it side by side with my Hero wired mouse and felt no compromise in cutting the cord. The new mouse boasts a 68% improvement over the existing Lightspeed, but I’m not sure how you can improve 68% over basically lagless play. Its basically corded, without a cord.Fits seamlessly into the existing Logitech infrastructure – G-Hub software picked up the new mouse right away and assigned a new device profile for immediate customization. I swapped the Powerplay disc from the old mouse into the new and it took to charging immediately off of my Logitech Powerplay base, and which also has a built in Lightspeed wireless receiver the mouse paired to. As with the old model, there is a port at the nose of the mouse (USBC) for charging if you haven’t figured out how to make the Powerplay charging mat a part of your life yet. Do it, it is so worth it to never plug it in. Ever.Raising the bar:Lightforce Hybrid Switches – new optical-mechanical switch technology, while I didn’t consider it a detracting feature on the 2019 version, you can definitely feel a firm difference in the click. Coupling optical speed and mechanical feel rewards you with incredible speed and reliability. Outstanding upgrade.Friction Free gliding - New coating on the bottom of the mouse, looks like white stickers but is a PTFE layer on the feet to reduce friction between the mouse and the pad/surface. Definitely noticeable between last-gen and this model, it glides on the Powerplay mat hard surface.Customizable sniper button – okay, small upgrade, but I like it, the ‘sniper’ button on the left side is on a magnet, and can either be flipped for a better feel, or replaced with an included blank (my choice) to remove it. Nice touch, this button was a bit annoying on the old one as it was built for weird long-thumb people, and not me.Lightsync RGB – the plus model has an 8-zone RGB break on the palm rest, looks awesome alone but in tandem with my Powerplay mat and G915 TKLLightspeed keyboard, customize your setup eight ways to Sunday. Mine all run in simple cycle, but they look great in unison.Unit weight – I’m torn on this, it isn’t a plus for me but I understand that the trend is towards ultra-light. This unit reduced it’s weight from (I think) 114g in the last-gen wireless unit to 106g on this comparable unit- a feat considering the new LEDs are an added weight- but I do like my mice a little on the ‘more substantial’ side (no weight-shaming here), and I do miss the customization offered with the weight kit in the last model. Making mice intentionally heavier isn’t a thing anymore, and I may be alone on and island with that. What can I say, to each their own.All in, the new G502X Plus weaves great new function into a time-tested familiar form. It somehow reinvented itself without changing what makes it a legend, and added some really great value while cutting weight (and not corners). It comes at a premium price, but it is a premium product with much more to offer if you enhance it with the Powerplay upgrades (do it, really). I said it when I reviewed the 2019 version and it still holds true– this mouse was never a question of if, it was always a question of when.
I have been a Logitech fan for the past 20 years. From mice, speakers, keyboards, to headsets and I’ve happily enjoyed most of them and stand by their products. I have also been a fan the original, and successful, G502 corded mouse which this one was modeled after, and I actually still use part-time. I loved wireless mice so much that I refused to ever go back to wired, until the G502…so long as it was a stationary setup where I didn’t move desk or locations, but I also have a gaming laptop that gets moved around a lot. Corded is nice because of its responsiveness and never have to worry about charging or signal issues. But now I wanted to upgrade the G502 to a wireless option for my gaming laptop, and what better option than a wireless one designed after it.First ... But now I wanted to upgrade the G502 to a wireless option for my gaming laptop, and what better option than a wireless one designed after it.First thing I noticed about this mouse was how light it was. Most wireless mice are a little heavier due to the weight of the battery, but with battery technology improving they have managed to make these things super light while holding a good amount of battery life. Its even significantly lighter than the corded G502! It also comes with an adjustable/replaceable DPI shifter for those who have that preference. The battery takes 2 hours for a full charge which uses a USB C/A cable that is included, you can use this for a wired option or just use the wireless receiver. From a full charge you can get up to 120 hours of continuous use which is pretty wild for how light this thing is. The bottom of the mouse stores the USB wireless receiver when on the go. It’s a nice magnetic cover that’s easy to remove and put back on. The receiver is even labeled G502, so when you’re like me and have multiple older Logitech mouse receivers around the house, you know which receiver this goes to. The receiver fits snug in the little cubby, but it seems like its not very secure if its going get knocked around in luggage.I downloaded the G Hub software for my laptop where I was able to set the LED color mode changing options, see your battery % remaining, DPI settings, buttons settings, profiles, and much more customizations. It also has default profiles for games it detects on your computer. The buttons on the mouse help you cycle through DPI and profiles easily. I play FPS shooters, including latency sensitive multiplayer games such as the COD series, where a tiny bit of lag makes a big difference. In comparison to the corded G502, it felt very similar in responsiveness. Still adjusting to the weight and shape of the new mouse, but it’s a convenient reminder of how nice a wireless setup is. Even the braided cords can catch onto things. One thing that seems off are the battery life readings and the quoted battery life. According to the G Hub software, after I was at a full charge (or nearly full) it read my battery life at just over 55% while on wireless. Then a few minutes later, it went back to 91%. Don’t expect to get anywhere near 120 hours while using lights, your life will drop down to under 40 hours. Currently at the 91% it says I have approximately 35 hours left of use. With the lights off, the software says 137 hours…big difference with the lights (more than whats quoted for the G502 X Plus). I also wish they would still include a charging cradle, would be much more convenient then plugging and unplugging cables.Overall the G502 X Plus seems like a solid runner-up to its predecessor, with even more options. The fact that you can switch between wired and wireless options easily, and get close to 4-5 days while having lights disabled is dang good. If lights are off and I start a game that has its own profile with lights on, the lights will come on just during the game which I think is pretty cool. The Lightspeed feature touts a 68% faster connection than what previous wireless mice use. It seems like Logitech has pulled the best features from their successful products and went all in on this line-up. The settings, customizations, and responsiveness have all been a good experience so far. I’d def recommend trying this mouse out if you are on the fence!
I have finally stumbled across an absolutely killer gaming mouse that has left me with 0 complaints. The mouse is light, comfortable, ergonomic, and has plenty of buttons which can all be fully customizable with macros - or productivity shortcuts. There is rubber on the sides, but smooth textures where no grip is needed.I absolutely love the DPI shift button. Not only is it more convenient than the typical DPI selector button, but the shape can be adjusted - or it can be capped off which essentially removes the button. I have fairly small hands and thanks to the physical button options - I am able to reach it without issue.I also love the option to spin the mouse wheel freely in hyperfast mode, or quickly switch to a ratcheted mode for more precise (and tactile) ... I have fairly small hands and thanks to the physical button options - I am able to reach it without issue.I also love the option to spin the mouse wheel freely in hyperfast mode, or quickly switch to a ratcheted mode for more precise (and tactile) scrolling. The button is easy to reach and actuate. I also find that tilting the mouse wheel to the left and right is more responsive than most other gaming mice - to the point where I can actually use the feature without worry of accidental activation. So far the battery life has been excellent, but I very much appreciate that Logitech has created a Powerplay wireless charging mat that can keep the mouse charged indefinitely. The wireless charging mouse-pad is pretty expensive (at over $100), but it’s a cool and useful option. The mouse isn’t overloaded with macro buttons, but every button it does have is well within reach and is simple to modify/customize with the Logitech G Hub. And, because the mouse can save multiple profiles, I find myself using the G502X for work - changing the buttons from macros over to productivity shortcuts. The mouse does not have Bluetooth connectivity as an option, but the USB-A Lightspeed pro-grade wireless adapter can be stored securely inside of the mouse - so travel is simple and swapping to a new device/computer is quick and easy.
I typically do not like using larger style mice and generally go for more compact sizes, but I actually enjoyed using this mouse for gaming, although there are some cons I'll get to later. Most mice this size feel extra heavy, but this one feels as light as a mouse less than half its size, making it more user-friendly for gaming than other mice this size. The amount and placement of buttons (including one that you can switch out to a small or large size) give you great options for personal preferences for gaming. I'm a huge fan of the scroll wheel moving from free-flow to incremental, which happens at the push of a dedicated button just above the wheel. The amount and placement of buttons (including one that you can switch out to a small or large size) give you great options for personal preferences for gaming. I'm a huge fan of the scroll wheel moving from free-flow to incremental, which happens at the push of a dedicated button just above the wheel. The RGB lighting is delightful, and a storage area below the power switch on the bottom of the device allows you to store the USB dongle for safe keeping. Tracking is superb (as is common on Logitech devices it seems), and I was able to guide the device on literally every surface i could think of or access. I didnt try distance tracking, so I cannot speak to performance in this area.On the down side, this mouse is strictly controlled through the dongle, as opposed to having Bluetooth capability, which is a limitation when compare to some of Logitech's own other wireless gaming mice that can use both a dongle and Bluetooth on any Bluetooth-capable device. The storage area underneath the mouse cannot fit the small or large button alongside the dongle, so there is high likelihood of losing the button if you carry it through other means for preferred switching of sizes between games or productivity work. The biggest issue I had overall was with the downloadable software application for the mouse. It uses the G HUB app, and the app is not intuitive at all, forcing you to go through a demo to get to the RGB controls, which are a separate set of options from the ones you can download and use on a completely different screen; Options loop around repetitively, and require that you basically click on almost every option in order to figure out where to go or what to press to do whatever you are trying to do through the app. I stumbled across how to activate saving settings directly to the device, and then stumbled across how to get to a game profile while trying to figure out how to switch the RGB settings (which appear in two different areas, the least convenient of which is where the main controls are actually located). Not sure what the design team was thinking when they slopped every menu they could think of into random locations, but it needs a TON of work. had it not been for the mouse itself being so fun to use and look at, the menu options alone would have cost this device two stars.Overall, I'd recommend the mouse to others, even if they prefer smaller mice, for both gaming and regular productivity needs, but I would certainly warn them about how disorganized the settings are through the G HUB app if they are intending to use this mouse for gaming.
My old G604 has taken a beating over the last couple years, and it was time to look for a new mouse, while it still works perfectly it’s showing it’s age and has held up to many hours of gaming. When I saw Logitech “reinvented” the G502 with the “X Plus” model I had to give it a try.Unboxing and first impressions:The mouse came in a nice “typical” Logitech logoed box, and inside is the mouse, charging / wired cord, wireless receiver, a blanking button for the shift button, manual, and the usual “L” sticker. The body itself is pretty closely shaped to the G604 but more angular, the two main mouse buttons are longer and narrower then the 604s and the two buttons next to the left mouse button are much longer and easier to reach. There are two side buttons which you can program, and a new, side button in front of them that has a little lip that extends back so it’s easy to reach. This button is a preprogrammed as a DPI shift and when pressed it cuts the DPI way down for precise control. The top of the mouse also has a new RGB light strip and looks pretty cool and is programmable through the G Hub software, “all keys are very easily programmed through the software.”Using:The 502X feels great in hand, it’s extremely light, if you like a light mouse for gaming, you’ll love this one. I happen to like a little more heft to my mice and luckily if you happen to have an older mouse that has the “G” 10gram coin you can swap that into the base without a problem and this made it feel just right. The new “Hero” sensor is super sensitive, and you can “if you wanted” adjust it up to 25600, “I tried this once and wow that’s way too fast and sensitive” but you have full control of what you want to set the DPI at just like their past gaming mice. The new lighspeed hybrid switches and seem to be extremely responsive with just the right amount of force needed to activate, “will see how these hold off the static buildup and doubleclicking issues I’ve had in the past with their other mice”.Speed and accuracy while gaming is as good as it gets, and that new shift key really helps a lot when you are using a sniper rifle and want to halve your DPI for precise shooting, “it really helped in Borderlands 3” The scroll wheel has the button for that located behind wheel so you can set the wheel to free spin and behind that is another button that you can cycle through stored onboard profiles saved on the mouse itself. I also like the feel of the white PTFE feet, they are larger than the ones on my other mice and are very smooth sliding on my neoprene mouse pad. Conclusion:If you want a great mouse and do a ton of gaming, “like I do” then you’ll probably love the new 502X Plus. The battery life is outstanding, and their claim of 40hrs is pretty much on. It does have a USB C connector for charging and is compatible with the Powerplay wireless charger “I’ll be grabbing one of those”. So if you are in need a new mouse or just want an extremely good gaming mouse then put the G502X Plus on top of your shopping list.

The CPU fee had a very nice glide as well making this a well-rounded mouse.Style: simply put, this mouse looks very good. It combines many of the styled designs from their multiple button mice with their sleeker designs as well.Cons:Battery life - I have not been super impressed with the battery life thus far on this mouse. It seems to require charging more frequently than some of my others, although Logitech does make this very easy to do as the USB receiver easily plugs off and the USB type-C cable slides into the mouse for charging.Height: okay this might be a weird one but the rest of my Logitech model nice. Have a very satisfying rounded shape to them that seemed to fit my hand well, or at least my hand became very comfortable with it. This mouse and the other hand is fairly flat in comparison and feels as though I am missing part of it. I am sure that I will adjust to this in time, but it is definitely something that I noticed. All in all, this is an amazing mouse and would be a welcome addition to anybody collection who wants the best of gaming as well as multiple function buttons.
