I bought these to punish my loud neighbor and they work great. That woman doesn’t have an inside voice and keeps weird hours so she talks super loud at the worst times. Apartment management didn’t care so I took matters into my own hands. I put these right against our shared wall and play German language instruction and construction noise videos on YouTube for hours at a time. I can’t hear them in my living room when wearing noise canceling headphones. She stopped making noise but I still do it just to lower her overall quality of life. I hope the lack of sleep lowers her immune system causing her to die from illness.

When you think of buying $40 desktop speakers, what are your expectations? If you're expecting an high end stereo audio experience with crisp highs, thundering bass, and perfectly leveled mids, then................you are 100% LYING cuz no self-respecting audiophile or even an audiophile wannabe would think you can get such an experience for $40. My expectations were rather simple: I need audio that is significantly better than my monitor speakers without breaking the bank, I want a stereo setup that doesnt take up too much space, and I want SOME bass without having to buy an external sub. With those expectations, I was pleasantly suprised by these. For starters, they look pretty nice in almost any desk setup. Unless you have some aversion to black and white, but I actually am very fond of the "oreo" or "penguin/panda" look they got going. Second, a nice big volume knob. I kind of hate when speakers have a very small volume knob. Its just a personal preference. It doesnt work any better or worse than a smaller knob would, but the big knob is a plus for me. Third: DISCLAIMER. Audio quality is subjective!!!! Shocking I know right. Again. These are $40. Do they sound better than some random brand stereo set from amazon from $20? Yes. In fact they do. But for a little more money, you can get better sound. They have decent bass for not having a subwoofer. You can get them pretty loud without any significant distortion. My only complaint about the sound is that is actually is pretty quiet until you turn it up a bit. This may be due to the sound card in my particular desktop so your results may vary, but I have to turn the knob approximately a third of the way until I get a good level sound going. Bottom line: I highly recommend these for someone who just wants a decent set of speakers on their desk that wont break the bank and they arent too picky. I might get a second pair to use at home as this current pair I have is my office setup.

Just received a pair of these speakers. I'm underwhelmed. The sounds seems incomplete, as though something is missing, though I'm not an audiophile so it's hard for me to describe. The sound is vastly inferior to my headphones. I've had nothing but great Logitech speakers in the past, which always sounded as good as my headphones, so I'm surprised they would sell something like these. Of note, the speakers are very light in weight. All my previous Logitech speakers were quite heavy. Perhaps this is reflective of lower quality.

It's stereo sound and plenty of volume for us to play spotify while we finally type our essay that is due in 15 hours and occasionally watch a netflix because somebody is hogging the TV so I guess I'll go use my computer but headphones sounds sweaty and I can't get comfy. Seriously, at this price you can't beat em. If you need more functionality than this, you're just going to have to spend more. They're rock solid and most of the negative reviews I've seen sound like user error or bad QC. But it's logitech so it's not the off brands are gonna be better. At least logitech might actually RMA you where that knock off is for sure a shell company that'll be gone in 8 months and you wont have ANY customer support. Just saying.

Low Quality sound, no highs, Logitech poor design
16 August 2021

Logitech used to make good and high-quality sound speakers which I still have. These have flat sound almost muffled and lacking the high frequencies and to think they even have a tone knob that does not really add anything to move toward a crisper sound is just disappointing. There is distortion on the highs. They could have been paired with a tweeter and may have improved the sound. Comparing to an Insignia speaker a third smaller in size, the old Insignia performs way better. Experience with a non-powered Polk audio PC speaker back in 2000 is even way better sound than this. Using an equalizer will not be enough to boost the highs. If you're a bit on the mid-audiophile, this may not be the PC speaker for you. My new speakers!
15 July 2022

My main reason for choosing these is immediate availability and options. I could have gone the more costly route and gotten a better set, but these suit my needs. I watch how-to videos and listen to stuff, nothing accoustically perfect. I have a nice sound system I can use for that. These are loud enough to hear throughout the house. Not a lot of bass, but good enough! Functionally, these are great and are exactly what I was looking for. They sound better than the smaller speaker sets. All-in, a great purchase.

Pretty Decent
3 August 2022

Frequency Range is, at listed,18k-80hz, but can handle about 17k-36hz, with the "bass volume" turned all the way up. I prefer to have the "bass volume" turned all the way down, though, because it only seems to increase the midrange, and not the lower end; like the other one I had of this type. The Z200 I had before, had really nice low end and the "bass volume" actually increased the bass, but the current set I have now, just increases the midrange. Disappointed at that, but, I live in an apartment and can't have anything loud. I miss my old Z200's while slightly enjoying the new Z200's I got. My last set was lost in a flood.

Speaker with Good Sound for Gamers & Non-Gamers
1 February 2023

I needed an alternate sound system to replace the situation I currently have. My gaming set up is right in front of my bed (the only place I can put it) and being that monitors don’t usually come with speakers built in, I only have my headset as a way of sound. So, the situation is: whenever I want to just lay down and watch some movies or YouTube videos, I would have to take my headphones with me, but after some time, they would get to low battery and/or die. I bought these speakers just so I can avoid getting out of the comfort of my bed while also being able to hear what I’m watching. The speakers themselves are easy to set up. The set-up manual is printed on the box in pictures, by the way, so people who like to read the instructions, you might need to grab someone who can help you plug the cables in. The sound is good and very loud (if turned up). The wires between the speakers are long so if you have a big desk, you’ll have enough slack if you space them far apart. The sound is great on a higher volume setting. There are two headphone jacks in front next to the volume knob that you can plug headphone into which is convenient (not that I will use it, but for others it might be good to know). Only issues I have are 1) If you put it behind your monitors or not facing your initial direction, it’ll sound muffled, especially at a lower volume. 2) They are bigger than I thought, so it takes up space on the desk. 3) The sound is more mono when at a low volume setting. 4) It doesn’t pair with the Logitech GHub so I have to go through my settings on the computer to control it. 5) The audio cable is short (maybe 2’, 2.5’, 3’ so weaving it through my cable management to have it reach the audio port on my PC was a little tough).

Speakers work well for what they are. $40 speakers

Easy setup. Just plug into speaker jack and power, and plug left speaker into right. Volume control on front of right speaker (completely counter clockwise is off switch). Front of right speaker also has a headphone jack and an aux jack(?) which does NOT function as another headphone jack. The right side of the right speaker has a "tone" wheel which honestly doesn't do much from one extreme to the other. These speakers work well on a computer but don't expect professional stereo sound out of them. It's 4 3" speakers in 2 plastic housings. They don't sound the best but they do sound pretty good for the build materials and the money you're spending. Bottom line, I'm happy with them and feel I got my money's worth. Yuppers... these are astounding sounding speakers

These are a wired set of speakers. I have an ACER gaming laptop and for some reason, the volume is horrible, so after trying every scenario in order to fix the volume properties, I realized that there were no fixes. I'm stuck with a gaming pc that has REALLY BAD SOUND. So I went with a limited budget and bought these Logitech speakers. They are a wired set (not bluetooth, nor wireless). I was thinking... hey, at least I'll have some sound. Well, I was happily surprised when I hooked these babies up to my laptop... HOLY MOLY! I haven't even tried to turn them half way up. I'm not a youngster, so I don't like really loud music, but since I'm not a youngster, I have poor hearing (probably because I was a youngster who liked loud music... lol). There's nothing worse than trying to produce videos and not be able to hear the sound I just captured. Well, I guess there is one thing worse... turning on music and still not being able to hear a song play without shutting my windows and turning off my dryer!
