Great product (as usual from the Lucas Oil brand) -- I generally buy this brand when I can as it's track record is impressive for performance and maintenance products.I actually gave this particular product to my father to use on his bikes as I don't generally use octane boosters. He remarked that it seemed to give his favorite bike an improvement in performance rather quickly. Lucas Oil products are well-known for being thoroughly tested and very effective. I use several of their additives to keep my old V8 Dodge running well. Adding this octane booster is worth the money over buying more expensive higher-octane gas at the pump. You'll notice a difference after additing it to a tank.

I don’t go below 1/4 tank, and I was already running 94 octane from my local Chevron, and a K&N filter in the factory housing. With the octane booster I’m at a total of approximately 97 octane. (The first tank took two bottles, because it’s a 130 litre tank.) With just the octane booster added I have picked up just a shade under 200 kms per tank, and the truck seems to be burning much cleaner. I have not hooked it up to a test machine. So I can’t give any scientific numbers. But my exhaust as lost almost all of the black inside the end. Now you can see mostly the rust and only a slight hint of black. Where as before the octane booster the inside was still fairly black. Not heavy black like it was on regular gas with a factory Ford paper filter. Replaced as required, by Ford. But still black. I have made the listed changes 1 at a time so I can see exactly what it does. I also run a bottle of Lucas fuel system cleaner and every oil change to keep the fuel system as clean as possible to keep it running as efficiently as possible. Fuel expensive, and I want to get as much as possible from every drop. Plus open it up once a week on the highway to clear out any carbon as one should. But otherwise I drive for fuel economy. The air filter added 40 kms per tank and freed up a noticeable amount of bottom end power. The 94 octane added I don’t remember the exact number. But around 100 kms per tank, and the truck ran a little smoother and a slight bit more power all the way through the rpm range. But mostly noticeable at the higher rpm’s. These changes are enough to offset the cost difference, and then some. I know some people will say Octane doesn’t affect fuel mileage, or power. All I can say is these are my results. Try it yourself if you don’t believe me. The truck is low mileage especially for the age. 176,000. It’s mostly used the family car. So it has the taller gears. Not much towing, hauling, or hard driving. The most off roading it has done is a muddy driveway to my friends ranch. So it has led a fairly easy life. Maintenance done religiously. I would recommend if you have the same or similar truck to give these changes a try. Go at least 3 tanks to see the full difference, and run the Lucas deep clean fuel system cleaner first. Just to make sure you are starting with the fuel system as clean as possible to be sure your running as efficiently as possible to start. Side note: I live in a hilly mountainous area. So that may also affect the numbers I’m getting. Versus what some in a flat area would.
i use this product to boost the octane rating for when I cannot get premium fuel. So far it works extremely well. I get the horsepower boost, ie no pinging, no knock from the octane rating raising up 3 whole numbers. I pick them at sams for about 8 bucks a bottle. Just be careful when opening the top...and putting the contents into the tank.

I poured the whole bottle in at fill up and made a trip about one hundred and fifty miles and that included a trip over the mountain and back almost five thousand feet about seven miles to the top. I think that the octane additive made the engine run a little smoother. I also think that since i was not pulling my trailer I was not really getting the benefit of the extra boost i was expecting. I think I would see a much bigger benefit if i had a load on the truck but the truck did run good with the additive. I also think that i did get slightly better fuel mileage than with out the additive. Also i was just running regular gas with ethanol. Ran two bottles through the fuel system of my Accord Sport recently (two separate fill-ups, 89 mid grade gasoline from Shell). Used with the Lucas Oil High Mileage Fuel System Treatment. Engine starts easier, and the MPG that I was seeing two years ago has been restored. Gonna run this in my car at least twice a year going forward.
