I have been eating Lundberg short grain Brown Rice for at least eight years every day for breakfast. I usually eat it with a few tablespoons of Hatch green or red enchilada sauce mixed in. I also consumed this rice sometimes for lunch and dinner. I really like the taste and chewy texture. We used to buy this at Costco, but the Brown Rice that Costco is selling now in 25 pound bags doesn't taste as well or cook up as well as the Lundberg Rice. For the last nine months I have had a horrible experience with IBS/SIBO/microscopic colitis which has put me down. My diet now – in order to control symptoms – consists of this Lundberg Rice every meal along with boiled vegetables of various kinds. As a beverage I only drink water. The rice is helping me get through this disabling medical crisis in my life as it does not aggravate my symptoms. This is a great tasting dependable food source for me. I can't do without it and surprisingly I don't tire of consuming it every day. It actually represents a treat to me to eat it..

I eat a LOT of rice. So the quality and variety, including speciality flavors, is important me. Organic is important to me. I like the idea of a “family” farm. So when I get ready to replenish my rice cabinet, I turn to Lundberg because I don’t have to wonder. It’s consistently delicious, comes in a mountain of varieties, always available. My daily go-to rice is short-grain brown, but I keep all varieties and flavors right at my fingertips. I am definitely a repeat customer.

We have been fans of Lundberg’s sustainably farmed short grain brown rice for many, many years. We are glad to see it come back in its new organic form. It’s just as delicious and nourishing as ever. The only complaint is that a few grains of rice in every bag are still in their husks. I don’t want to sound like a pampered city-girl, but it’s a bit unnerving to bite on something hard and somewhat spiky when you’re not expecting it. I don’t remember this being a problem with the sustainably farmed short grain brown rice. Perhaps there’s an easy fix.

I was first introduced to short-grain brown rice by hippie friends and relatives in 1968 and have always had it on hand for the myriad of meals that one could make with it. For the past thirty years Lundberg has been my source for organic rice. Grateful that it is grown here organically as world-wide production is threatened by turbulent, ever-changing weather patterns. This rice and a healthy diet is the best medicine. My first meal with this rice in 1968 was with a simple sauce made with miso, tahini and orange rind, perfect with this rice.
I bought a 25lb bag - not quite two years ago, and I still have half of that stash left. But given the sequellae of Biden's unnecessary and wrongful war, and the ****** sanctions, and the general madness that has been unleashed upon us, I decided I needed more depth. The former bag cost me $40 - this one cost me $80! But better that than the moment when I find I CAN'T GET IT FOR ANY PRICE. So I breathe easier with that in my basement where it's cool. I also bought a freezer now filled with many pounds of beef steak, chicken thighs, whole wheat flour and sprouted cracked bread grains. I'm set for the duration, with my well of good water. I have a generator. If the juice fails I can fall back on propane or gasoline. But if the madmen are not reined in, if fossil fuels ... MoreI bought a 25lb bag - not quite two years ago, and I still have half of that stash left. Maybe the landlord will let me put in a woodstove.
Absolutely LOVE the taste of this rice. I cook a 2lb package weekly and keep it in the refrigerator as a side, or to add to soups, veggies, and dog food. It is great in curried dishes and can make an outstanding side by simply adding onions, peppers, carrots, celery or whatever veggies you have on hand. I always add a few tablespoons of olive oil and or cocunut oil when cooking to add to its taste and nutritional value. Love that this comes from a family owned farm and appreciate that it is organic and sustainable. Great product!
Buyer beware! The thumbnail shows 6 bags of rice, though the description does clearly state 32oz. I thought it was six (6) 32 oz bags which would have been an exceptional value at roughly $2/per. Sadly I paid over $12 bucks for a single 32oz bag. What a rip off. The thumbnail is very misleading. Intentionally? Maybe, I know they taught me an expensive lesson
First let me tell how I got here,The local and big box stores haven't had this premium rice since "Covid" I've been rolling the dice buying Other rice (pure, quality etc). Rice is a daily food for my family.I stumbled of a large website company (A) that was carrying it in limited quantity - I ordered 2--#25 bags, they were packed very poorly and both burst in the shipping box.Long story short, I tried the Lundberg site, Fast, efficient, not broke and fantastic.Thank you for doing your business right! I will continue to get my rice directly from you!SincerelyShafer Family
During the last six months, I've purchased two bags of 12 lbs. organic short-grain brown rice from Costco on two different occasions. The first bag was terrible. There were a lot of decaying grains that were black or dark brown. It would take 40–50 minutes each time I rinsed the rice as a result of having to pick out the rotten grains.I bought another 12-lb. bag from Costco a few months later, assuming I had gotten a faulty batch the first time. However, the second bag was just as terrible.Based on my experience, I will not purchase rice from Lundberg. Please keep in mind that your quality control will need to be considerably improved. Thank you very much!
Best rice ever, smells good right out of the bag and better even cooking in my Zojirushi. NO BUGS! Exceptionally clean rice. The 25# bag came delivered in the sturdiest box I've ever seen, keeping that box! And it came so fast. In the 1970's I used to sprout my own brown rice (and wheat berries), then dry it with a table fan on a huge tray. In my next order I'm going to add the sprouted rice. I'm a forever fan of Lundberg, thank you for caring enough to deliver such quality.Helen Dutton
