It has a finish between satin and glossy, and it doesn't feel super drying like a lot of lipsticks do. It isn't particularly moisturizing, but it doesn't bother me much since I typically use a lip gloss over top of it.I would like to point out that this does somewhat emphasize flaky lips, so definitely don't use this if your lips are extra dry and flaky. But regular texture looks fine with this lipstick.The packaging is sleek and easy to carry around. The lid is also secure and the shape of the lipstick is actually very practical for application. This lipstick is one of the best tube lipsticks I've ever tried. The tube itself is nice and weighty. Doesn't feel cheap and flimsy at all. The smaller diameter of the lipstick is also great for people with smaller lips like mine. Lipsticks with larger diameters tend to get on the area around my lips easily during application. The feel is smooth, not exactly hydrating, but not drying either. I put on lip balm before applying, and my lips stay moisturized all day. It also doesn't exaggerate the lines on my lips, which is amazing.The only thing that is less than stellar about it is that it smudges. This leaves more of a soft, almost stained, look to your lips. And also, one swipe is more than pigmented. You won't need more. I did find that while it wasn't drying out my lips, it didn't last as long as the original matte formula. There was a bit of a transfer so I'd keep the lipstick nearby for touch-ups.Lastly, can we take a second to appreciate the packaging of this lipstick? It is beautiful! The lipstick is housed in this very chic and sophisticated matte black casing with the MAC logo in gold. It is a sleek design and despite its slim silhouette, the weight of the casing feels good in your hand. It feels expensive and luxurious and I'm here for it! This lipstick does not look like your traditional bullet and you will always have room for it in your evening bag or little clutch.All in all, I give this child of Ruby Woo an A. It's a matte lipstick that feels like a balm. The color payoff is good. It doesn't last as long as I would like, but I don't mind pulling this beautiful lipstick out to reapply. I do hope that MAC comes out with some more shades in this formula. Would love to see some nudes and browns like Whirl, Yash, or Taupe for the upcoming Fall season.

Could definitely still feel the product after wearing for over an hour. It did not feel sticky at all! Overall comfortable to wear if you don't mind the feel of product on your lips. Scent - The product has a rather lovely scent to it. Very feminine fragrance that is sweet, yet not over-powering, almost chocolate-like. Overall coverage - The coverage of this product was good, but had to be applied with multiple swipes for the result I was looking for. This left a lot of product on the lips to be worn. Overall - Throughout the day and eating it did wear nicely. I could continually feel the product, but never became sticky or uncomfortable. Definitely NOT kissable, as it does transfer horrible. Did seem to stain lip slightly once removed with makeup remover cloth. The smell of the product and the silky texture are beautiful though. I would purchase this product again, but do not believe I would be tempted to wear as my everyday lip choice. I would think of this as more of a going out/formal situation product.
