Incredibly powerful. By design. That gave us the freedom to imagine something radical, something entirely different. A notebook so thin, so light, and so powerful it's like nothing you've ever seen before. A notebook designed for the future, but ready to use today.Less has never been more.It may be incredibly thin and light, but MacBook Pro with Retina display is also incredibly powerful. To achieve all that in a single design required relentless focus and a willingness to make bold decisions. Every millimeter was designed, engineered, built, and assembled to the most exacting performance standards. Bulky legacy technologies like the spinning hard drive and optical disc drive were left behind in favor of newer, higher-performance technologies - PCIe-based flash storage, for example. Flash is not only much faster and more reliable than a traditional hard drive, it takes up 90 percent less space. Which is one of many reasons MacBook Pro isn't just extremely capable, it's extremely portable, too.

Iāve read several reviews on this model of MacBook Pro and I think itās a great choice for the price point and compared to how much the larger models and newer models cost. Yes it lacks the outputs of previous models and newer models as well, but I rarely use near the 512GBs of storage and they do sell several different models of adaptors that allow the use of three monitors for far less than what you can get the current model for. I purchased a 1TB hard drive for extra storage and I have two 4K monitors hooked up to mine with an adapter that I paid about $200 for. I got this on sale to begin with and that was really nice as the price paid for the adapter that adds support for three 4K monitors, but two is actually more than I thought I needed. I got this on sale to begin with and that was really nice as the price paid for the adapter that adds support for three 4K monitors, but two is actually more than I thought I needed. I also purchased a mouse and keyboard for mine that are space gray and Iām currently in the process of buying a DAC as I can rip my Japanese MQA CDs from disc to files to playback on my Astell&Kern DAP. I can also stream MQA audio to other devices that support the audio format. Thatās why I purchased this device to begin with. This is my third MacBook Pro and it is the smallest one Iāve owned, but I have never had a dual monitor set up with the previous two models and the M2 processor is really fast if you have access to gigabyte internet speeds. None of my previous models had as much memory and I was fortunate enough to get this when it was on sale. Apple has got to stop expecting people to buy new devices every 3 to 5 years. Iāll be the first to admit that Apple is pushing out new devices at a very fast pace and thatās going to hurt their overall business in the long run if they continue to stop supporting their older devices and expect their customers to buy new devices every 3 years. I am completely satisfied with this model and contrary to what some people have posted, the device is very relevant for certain task management. I have two different adapters for this MacBook Pro and one is very heavy and has the ability to add three 4K monitors as itās powered by a separate power supply and has a large number of USB ports as well as a built in chipset and thatās how it can handle three external 4K monitors. The keyboard and mouse are Bluetooth so they donāt need USB power except for charging them up. I agree that this is kind of an of the wall model of the MacBook Pro, but it wasnāt a $2,500 laptop, yet it can still hang in their with the new and latest MacBook Pro models, if you have the right hardware. I also have a portable adapter that I originally purchased when I bought this MacBook Pro that is great for traveling with as it is small and portable and has enough extra USB ports to power the laptop, use an external Blu-ray drive and allow me to hook up my 1TB hard drive thatās SSD and still do everything else I want to do. The best thing about having this is I can backup my iPad Pros and not use up my 50GBs of storage space that Apple has so graciously provided for $3.00 a month. I prefer to use it mostly at home because of the convenience of two monitors and a full sized keyboard and mouse. I take the mouse with me when traveling as well. Iām absolutely fine with my MacBook Pro 13 inch 2022 as neither of my previous models had as much memory as this model does and it has the faster M2 processor.

I bought this computer 2 months or so ago, replacing a 2012 Mac Book Pro that had been refurbished, but literally just wouldn't turn on one day. Micro Center indicated the Mother Board had crashed. So off to the Apple section of MicroCenter for a new computer. Based on use criteria and price, I selected the MacBook Pro 13.Positives: The MacBook Pro 13 is light, , fairly easy to type on, and gets the job done, and the screen is just a tiny bit larger than the prior Mac Book Pro. I do like the keyboard bar on top that lights up and "finishes your sentence" if you need it to, but I have not yet maximized it's utility.Negatives: 1. The 8GB is not enough memory to work on spreadsheets and powerpoints, interchangeably or add animation in the mix. I do like the keyboard bar on top that lights up and "finishes your sentence" if you need it to, but I have not yet maximized it's utility.Negatives: 1. The 8GB is not enough memory to work on spreadsheets and powerpoints, interchangeably or add animation in the mix. I don't think that a higher GB was available with this model. I was convinced by the sales people this would get the job done given that I don't do a lot with video. Well IMO just barely. For super-users of spreadsheets and PowerPoint, 8 Mg may not be enough. Especially if you need to work in online data libraries, do some math in the Excel spreadsheet, and then bring to Powerpoint. It's slower than I expected but eventually gets there. I did however at one time loose a few pages in a deck when I was trying to save and it froze. When it unfroze, a couple of the powerpoint pages were gone, along with some of the animated in the slides. This was at 2 am the night before a presentation, so it was aggravating. So save often and wait to make sure the animation has "taken" into the file.Negative #2: Another BIG negative which I didn't experience with my previous MacBook Pro -- the combatability of Big Tech appears to be at war on this machine. It feels very much that Apple resists working with Google or Microsoft files and there are multiple steps each time you try getting into gmail, or other non-apple files (which is most of my work. And the architecture of organizing and saving files is a nightmare - between OnMyMac, iCloud, Microsoft One-Drive there is plenty of storage but darn if you can figure out how and where it's saving your files. Or how to setup the architecture of your work files. I's clunky to work the File Organizer on Apple if you are used to a Lenovo Thinkpad or HP with Outlook where organization is easy. If you work as I have described, (i.e. Google, Microsoft applications), you may want to go the non-Apple route. This Mac just doesn't have the ease of the typical corporate America laptop to handle that sort of corporate work. It's awkward and frustrating, when you realize that your gmail contacts are not synced with the Apple contacts that may be used in other programs or apps on the Mac book. Every time I add or change contact information - there are multiple steps to sync with Google and Apple. I have yet to find it easy - even after checking all the online Apple forums on "how to" save, file and organize. In short, I have found that Mac is just not made for the way I work, which is the typical corporate America way.NEG #3 Finally my last negative on this baby is that the screen is micro-thin and I had to return the first one I bought. The screen had a slight scratch by the hinge, which got larger in the first week I used it. I had to go back and forth with both Apple and management at Micro-center to arrange a new one because the scratch fractured slightly, after just of week of "soft" use -- i.e. setting it up, downloading files off the cloud, etc. In the end, Micro center came through and I very much appreciate it. Be aware that there are several warranties you can "buy" and only the most expensive one covers screen damage. Warranty to cover the screen is a MUST with this computer if you buy it at MicroCenter. Apple will not cover the screen unless you purchase it there. So with that said, I hope that I will eventually be able to figure out these compatibility issues because it feels that Apple has the boxing gloves on when working with Google and Microsoft files. But when I do open it at a meeting, people always comment about this Mac book and ask about it, and well I tell them -- it depends what you want to do, but it is a cute machine.

The unibody aluminum chassis is incredibly sturdy and lightweight, making it perfect for on-the-go use. The slim profile and compact size make it easy to slip into a backpack or laptop sleeve, while the build quality ensures it can withstand the rigors of daily use.Display:The 13.3" Retina display is nothing short of stunning. With a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, it delivers crisp and vibrant visuals, making it perfect for photo and video editing, as well as general browsing and entertainment. True Tone technology adjusts the color temperature to match your environment, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience in various lighting conditions.Performance:The Apple M2 chip is the star of the show, offering a significant performance boost over its predecessor, the M1. With 8GB of memory and 256GB SSD, this MacBook Pro can handle multiple applications simultaneously without breaking a sweat. I've experienced minimal lag, even when running resource-intensive programs like Adobe Photoshop or Final Cut Pro. The fanless design ensures silent operation, and the laptop remains cool even under heavy workloads.Battery Life:Battery life is another strong point of the MacBook Pro. With up to 20 hours of usage on a single charge, I can get through an entire workday, and then some, without needing to plug in. This is particularly useful for long flights or working remotely without access to a power outlet.Connectivity and Ports:This MacBook Pro model includes two Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 ports, an SDXC card slot, HDMI port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a MagSafe 3 port for charging. While the port selection is adequate for most users, some may find the lack of additional USB-A ports a drawback. However, USB-C hubs and adapters are readily available to expand the laptop's connectivity. Conclusion:In summary, the MacBook Pro 13.3" with the Apple M2 chip, 8GB memory, and 256GB SSD in Space Gray is a powerful, efficient, and stylish laptop that delivers exceptional performance for both personal and professional use. While the port selection could be better, the overall user experience, incredible battery life, and top-notch performance make it a worthwhile investment for anyone in need of a high-quality laptop.
