I am a sweaty girl and still wear a full face of make-up in the warmer months so I need an excellent base for my make-up that is non-comedogenic. The very helpful sales associate suggested Make-up Forever Shine Control Step 1 and I am thrilled with the results. After cleansing and moisturizing, I apply a tiny dot to my forehead and on either side of my nose. It melts into the skin and leaves a matte finish that is velvety soft. It is an excellent base for my make-up. As it gets warmer I will definitely also try applying a small amount over my make-up in the same problem areas. I am very impressed with this product and highly recommend this if you have oily skin or are a sweaty girl like me that needs their foundation to last. #makeupforever

I really like this primer (you can tell i use it a lot by how dirty my bottle is! Lol.) It definitely keeps me matte and prevents my makeup from “slipping” on hot sweaty days. However I’ve found other mattifying primers that are also (almost equally) as good like the Milk Mattifying one, so if you don’t like this one, try the Milk one. Some people said it’s hard to put foundation on top cuz this dries quickly but personally I don’t have that issue! Every foundation I put on top has worked out well, but I agree that you do need to work fast with this one. I added a screenshot of the ingredients, it’s actually a pretty short ingredient list and I think it’s the silicate that’s the mattifying ingredient.

I was really hoping this primer would be "the one" for my oily skin. I can't seem to find a primer that keeps my makeup looking good for more than a few hours, even with touch-ups. I will say that this primer does offer me much longer lasting oil control than any other primer I've tried (and I've tried a ton of them). BUT, the problem is that this primer dries down so fast that I can't get my foundation to apply evenly. Best for very oily skin

I have been using this primer on/off for a couple years and it's still one of my favourites. However, I feel like unless you are veryyyy oily (like I am) then it might not work for you. Since it dries quickly, I take a very small amount and work the primer onto my forehead/eyebrows, then my temples, then my nose bridge, and then my chin. I don't use it all over the face. Also, i only use this product after i moisturize my face with a cream.I use the Nars sheer glow foundation on top and have not had any blotchy coverage, it lays quite nicely. I sweat a lot at my job so I need to extra matte power of this primer to keep my makeup in place and I truly do love this product. Fantastic for my combo skin!

I was a loyal Becca pore minimizing primer user and had not found another product that kept my shiny/combo oily skin matte and makeup in place no matter the environment UNTIL I FOUND THIS PRODUCT! It goes on over my moisturizer without piling and my makeup stays in place and generally matte for 10 hrs or more—even in some of the most humid environments!! For all you shiny/oily girls out there this is the product to get!! So happy I found this since Becca went out of business—definitely a comparable if not better mattifying primer!!

It can appear blotchy if not applied correctly. Sometimes it appeared as white flakes on my face.I use retinol, so my skin is dry. I work during the day and still have a shiny face. For dry skin, moisturize with a water based moisturizer. Make sure to moisturize well on drier areas of your skin if you intend to use it all over.I recommend to use this only on oily prone areas. Tricky but works well

READ BEFORE USING!Moisturize before use and I HIGHLY HIGLY recommend applying this primer with a synthetic flat foundation brush. I had a lot of trouble with this primer pilling or leaving a white cast on my face when using my fingers to apply this. It would dry way too quickly and be uneven. The best application I've gotten was from applying with a brush from the back of my hand. It gives a very even finish and I've had no problems with pilling since.I find it controls my oil really well (and I'm like 3-4 oil sheets oily). 4/5 stars because of how finicky it is, but if you're looking for a non-silicone shine control primer, this is the one. I got it as a sample and went back to buy the full size since.

excellent for very oily skin

I bought this to replace my now discontinued Becca ever matte priming perfector, and I wish I’d tried this sooner because this is definitely superior. I’ll admit, Becca’s oil control properties are slightly better, but MUFE makes up for it in texture. It’s so much lighter, smoother, blendable, and overall easier to work with when using applying makeup on top. I don’t have to worry about cakiness as much. I have very oily skin and live in a very humid climate, so I’m often a shiny disco ball in 1-2 hours after makeup application. This helps so much with oil control and I don’t have to constantly blot throughout the day.
