Can't comment on value for money - nothing to really compare it with. But excellent product. I have a bunch of other Makita items, both garden and workshop, and have always found their stuff pretty impressive. Durable and hard working. Plus of course I already have a couple of chargers and plenty of batteries. Our garden hadn't been touch for six months (mobility issues, now fixed) so had gotten very wild. Bought this, put it together, out into the garden and maybe three hours later the meadow hd gone and I could se the ground again. Solid blade great for clearing the big stuff - cut straight through it all no problem - and the bump/string "blade" great for trimming right up against the green house safely. Highly recommended.

Works well especially for removing weeds with the metal blade. Battery life is only 30 minutes though

Quiet and powerful, so convenient. Other than PPE, everything you need is in the box including 3 types of cutter. Only about 30mins line strimming on 2x5A so make sure to get extra batteries. Absolutely fantastic machine.

Excellent Makita quality as usual, only downside is that it is pretty heavy on battery usage.
Extremely impressed with this strimmer plenty of power and power efficient would highly recommend this to anyone. Batteries last roughly half hour with heavy use. No problem going through undergrowth very impressed.
As expected a great heavyweight product that more than matches my other 36 volt Makita tools…bit expensive unless you are going to use it a lot but the usual Makita quality
I like this machine, peaceful strimming without the wail of a petrol engine. I don’t think its viable for contract strimming because you only get an hour or so per charge, (I wasn’t counting) and that could be a real problem. Suited me because I have a double charger and at least four batteries from other Makita tools and it’s a good excuse for a tea break. My experience is limited because it is still new so these are first impressions and I was trying its three modes on well over-grown areas in my own garden. That’s all clear now so I won’t be needing to use it again for a while! It is quite heavy to use, speaking as a six footer and the harness is also a faff to put on compared with a simple over shoulder strap but it strims powerfully and controllably staying ... MoreI like this machine, peaceful strimming without the wail of a petrol engine. That’s all clear now so I won’t be needing to use it again for a while! It is quite heavy to use, speaking as a six footer and the harness is also a faff to put on compared with a simple over shoulder strap but it strims powerfully and controllably staying quite flat in the swing. I chose the “bicycle” handle bar option for control and I am glad I did. The Makita line doesn’t keep breaking off either, even when running along hard edges. I haven’t actually needed to try the bump feed yet! I did find the very tall grass became wrapped round the head, and although the reverse feature gets it going instantly the temptation is to continue and I found that the straw wrap was overheating the head and it began to groove the back of the line bobbin. Lesson learnt! The three bladed plastic blades were excellent on the taller weeds and I used the metal blade on some little-finger thick scrubby stuff and it copes well although its not a neat cut off on clumps. Goggles are a must with the metal blade and even with long trousers you get a few stinging pebbles on your legs. This must be a function of the two armed blade as opposed to a circular saw or wave style cutter. Biggest drawback is perhaps storing it with its long pole and handle bars. This model, the 369, has the small geared head, shaft driven by the motor up behind your shoulder with the batteries like a petrol machine and it seems to balance ok. This is adjustable with the hex key which can be clipped onto the motor casing. The 368 version has the motor in the cutting head which is therefore much bigger than most conventional petrol driven machines, but I can only guess how that affects balance, straw wind and overheating in comparison. I chose the 369 because it more closely matched the pro petrol Robin that I am familiar with. The Makita is a great machine I am not sorry I bought it. The neighbours love it’s quietness too even though it made their hayfever worse. Fortunately it’s enough of a beast to discourage them from wanting to borrow it.
I purchased this because I have already got the batteries for my makita chainsaw. That is my 'go to' saw for small/quick jobs, no messing with petroil. I intend to use this in similar circumstances. It is not quite as powerful as my petroil brushcutter and the 4ah batteries last me about half an hour. The switch positions on the handle are not ergonomically placed for me, but are tolerable. The supplied harness is quite acceptable.
The machine itself is excellent. It has a lot of torque and does not get bogged down by heavy grass and tall nettles when using the metal blade. The strimmer head also works well and does everything you would expect. The plastic blade is a bit feeble and I not sure what you would be using it for on such a large machine... cutting the lawn if you are bored with your mower maybe??What I am disappointed with is the battery life even at the medium speed. when using any blade of strimmer the maximum you can get out of it is 20 minutes continuous running. So you definitely need a second set of 5 amp hour batteries and as these take 40 minutes to charge you are still left waiting. So really you need a total of 6 of the 5 amp hour batteries for continuous work which gets ... MoreThe machine itself is excellent. First class tool. I have also the DUR 363LWhich is excellent but the 369AZ is superb. It comes with trimmer and brush cutter. You can fit a circular chain saw blade on it which I have, it cuts through the brambles and small shrubs like butter. One of the best investments I’ve made in years.
