Bought this to sand a table top but after less than a month the internal drive belt snapped. It was very flimsy and not what I expected when paying $259. Very disappointed with Makita. Didn't even get through the sanding belts it came with before it broke.Sander itself worked well before it broke but the dust collection was poor.

Works great for what i need it for, even after hours cutting back dense hardwood at 38grit. My last sander tore itself apart cutting back this same wood. Very happy.

Purchased a couple months ago and couldn't be happier. It's so lite compared to most of the belt sanders out there which means I'm not getting the nasty gouges of old when the arms start to tire trying to hold on to it. I thought being lite it may not have the same ripping power but it's a beast 👌🏻

I bought the sander and used it immediately on a table it was OK, although I noted the sand paper continually slid of rotating belt and also there was a lot of dust. A couple of years later used again to sand some decking.Same issue with the paper and then one of the rollers ripped and got tangled in the machine. Took to repair shop as now out of 2 year guarantee and was informed the housing would need to be replaced plus the rollers. The cost of this did not make it worthwhile so just needed to buy a new machine.
