The Makita JV101DZ Cordless Jigsaw is compact and lightweight; the design makes for a comfortable and well-balanced tool. The ergonomic soft grip handle gives you maximum comfort by reducing vibration and provides safe control. Variable speed, up 2,900 strokes per minute, combines with a stroke length of 18mm to give you an efficient cutting capacity of 65mm in wood. The JV101DZ features a choice of three orbital settings plus straight cutting and an electronic brake. The aluminium alloy baseplate pivots to allow bevel cutting up to 45° left and right. The dust extraction facility and blower function keep the cut line clear of dust for increased accuracy. This is a body only tool supplied without batteries or charger. It uses a Makita 10.8V CXT (Compact Extreme Technology) slide Li-ion battery. Similar to the extremely successful 18V Li-Ion battery used in the heavier tool range the CXT 10.8V has multi-contact terminals to ensure stable contact even under extreme work vibration conditions. The slide battery fits easily into the tools and new chargers and has the same high level of structural strength as well as having built-in protection to prevent overload or over discharging.
