Another great game for the 3DS. First party games tend to have a certain quality to them which is why they're hard to catch on sale. Mario games particularly have a certain charm. This remains true here. The obvious comparison is with Dream Team, the previous Mario RPG type game on the 3DS, and with Sticker Star, the previous PAPER Mario game on the 3DS. Dream team had some issues, it was kind of slow and very wordy. The tutorials were known to drag on. Sticker Star.. well it was a game that not many enjoyed for various reasons. None of that is present here. The Paper Mario aspect fits in well and suffers none of Sticker Stars problem and the tutorial issue from Dream Team has also been fixed. Retains the humor the series has become known for though, and while Mario and Luigi's attacks are mostly identical, it's nice to see a whole different attack and equipment set for Paper Mario. Some new features like identifying the target of enemy attacks helps youngsters and average gamers, but can turned off for a greater challenge. I go into this title having no experience with "Mario and Luigi" duo games, but am very familiar with the "Paper Mario" series.
