A few weeks ago, I was visiting my son in Newport Beach, CA, and I suggested that we go to the Tommy Bahama store in Fashion Island. Reason for our visit was to right a wrong! During my son's graduation party a few years ago, I took off my favorite sunglasses (Kawika by Maui Jim) and they disappeared. Not hard to believe when you have 50+ college kids coming by the house. The Fashion Island store did not have the pair I lost and wanted to replace. Our outstanding customer service representative, JR took the time to find this unique pair of glasses in a different color in the store. JR found the pair I wanted online and had them shipped to my house in Oregon, so I did not have to pay sales tax! The ease of ordering and the rapid delivery and the clarity of the lens are five star.As to the glasses themselves, they did not live up to the other many pairs of Maui Jims that I have bought over many years. The frame, although it seems sturdy enough, feels like very cheap drugstore sunglasses. The curvature of the frame doesn't seem to match the diagram on the details page.Looking through the glasses, I wrongly assumed that the lenses would be that optimum grey shade that is so perfect to look through. I owned a pair of these for 5 years and recently lost them. They were my favorite sunglasses, so I bought them again. The new pair feels lighter and the quality feels cheaper, despite the same price I paid 5 years ago. They also come with a crappy trifold case instead of the quality case they used to give you. Really disappointed that I lost my original pair.

I have had the glasses for a couple of weeks now and so far, so good. I took them to a spring training game and out for a road trip. I got these because my other pair were too dark. These are just the right darkness so I can still see things. My only complaint would be the glasses case itself. I accidently put it on the seat and sat on it, totally collapsed. That was empty so would give the glasses no protection whatsoever. The glasses are safe though. I got good help from the chat line also.
Maui Jim Kawika Classic Polarized Sunglasses | Crystal Frames with Blue Hawaii Lenses... What can I say? These new sunglasses are absolutely the best I have ever owned. I have several pairs of Maui Jim's which I have been very happy with over the years (I still wear them occasionally), but the Kawika's are wonderful. The first time I put them on, I could not believe how well they fit, how clear the lenses were, and how nice they looked. Thanks Maui Jim for putting a smile on my face!
Best glass and clearest lenses I have ever used, even better than prescription lenses I've had.These are very stylish glasses and fit me very well. 5.9 195 lb male. My sister 5.4 100 lb also looks great in them.Know what you're getting though. These are not the darkest lenses out there. That make colors pop. They are super clear.They are not going to let you look directly at the sun. If you do not have a hat on and light gets behind then lens you can see your eyes. Add a hat and that stops. Super bright days you might squit a bit.That said, these are the best sunglasses I have owned. Well worth it if you can swing the price tag. Just understand what you're buying. The style and compliments you'll get we make the purchase worth it. You will look amazing in them.
These are my second pair of Maui Jim's, but my first Kawika's. I absolutely loved these sunglasses and won't go to any other brands. The optics are unparalleled and I was able to choose what lenses I wanted for my frames to get my perfect look. The look and feel of these glasses coupled with the amazing customer service experience I've had with Maui Jim make them perfect. I've never had such a great customer experience as I've had with Maui Jim. I had these sunglasses for just over a year before I just got pickpocketed a few days ago at a street festival. I hope to be able to get another pair at some point, but if you're considering these, GET THEM!

At the end of the second day I put my MJ’s back in the case because it got cloudy. We had to go and I had the gut wrenching realization that my case was nowhere to be found. I looked everywhere, in every pocket as far as I could see in my golf bag and on the course. Nothing.I called the course everyday the next week to see if some Good Samaritan turned them in. My wife hates these sunglasses. Why? Because I lost two pairs already and am now on my third set. She calls them my $1000 sunglasses. But I don’t care. After my first pair, there was no going back to anything else. The style is timeless, the lenses reveal incredible clarity and color, and they are comfortable enough to wear all day long. You won’t be disappointed.
I love the classic look and styling of this frame so much that this is the 4th version of these I have acquired. Each one has a different lens and thus, a different purpose in life. To my eyes, the clarity of the Maui Jim lens is far superior to the "O" and "RB" brands. I would recommend Maui Jim's to anyone who values quality and style.I'm asian and usually have a difficult time with fit, but this frame is adaptable enough to create a great fit.To be honest, I'm not a fan of the triangular case that came with the glasses. Certainly not as good as the hard shell case or the zippered case.
