These sunglasses are perfect for me! They fit my smaller face really well, and they are light and comfortable and stay in place while exercising. The pink mirror coating is gorgeous :) My first pair arrived and they were warped, unfortunately - but MJ customer support got another pair in the mail to me as soon as I had shipped back the defective pair. I'm a long time MJ fan and will continue to be!

First, let me say that these glasses fit PERFECTLY! It’s like they are molded specifically for my head. And because they are lightweight, they are super comfortable and easy to wear.They do reduce haziness, but don’t block all sunlight. Reaching overhead for a lob while playing tennis, is still iffy. But definitely, an improvement over my last pair.

I have purchased four and still have three pair of the Sandy Beach Maui Jims. The bridge broke on one of them. It's a real weakness. If you're rough on sunglasses, skip these. The lense is nearly impossible to clean, as another reviewer has stated. Don't know why. And they scratch fairly easily. So they are high maintenance and fragile. Why do I keep buying them? Because they fit my thin face like no other, they're comfortable, they're light as a feather, and they look really great on a smaller face. If they ever come out with a titanium version, I'll buy a pair in a flash.

I particularly love the tortoise shell with the HCL lens. I've had them tested at those health fairs where you put your lens on a plate and it measures how much UVA and UVB from the sun they block and they always score excellently. I'd love it if they never scratched or the plastic frames never broke, but I figure 3 pair in 5 years (one of which I lost in the Gulf of Mexico) is really good. And I do feel that they protect my eyes.And the company is awesome. My optometrist stocked Maui Jim polarised glasses so I was on the right track.I did some leg work,talking to professionals, which confirmed what my research had shown. Maui Jim Sandy Beach H408-10 Tortoise/HCL Bronze Polarised Lenses are for me. Being on the lean side, I wanted sunglasses that suited my facial features. I ONLY wear Maui Jim sunglasses and needed sunnies specifically for hiking and other sweaty outdoor activity. I started out with the Komohana, which turned out to be too small (even though I have a small face). I returned those and, with the guidance of the Maui Jim online help, ordered these. They are perfect! First, the nose pieces are fantastic. They are nicely ridged and absolutely stay in place, regardless of sweat. Also, the lenses do not touch my cheeks (love this). The arms are comfortable and stay put. Finally, the profile of the glasses is such that they can be worn under a hat/baseball cap without touching. All in all, perfection!I ordered the tortoiseshell frames with blue lenses. The blue is quite dark, but really nice for bright sun.
This is the third time I have purchased Sandy Beach wrap around sunglasses. They fit my face/head. Most glasses are too wide. I will be devastated if they stop making them. I like the way the polarized lens increases visual acuity and detail. They are good in full sun but not too dark for a cloudy or snowy day. Sandy Beaches glasses are very light but they are durable. I abuse them - so one reason I replace them is the lenses become scratched. I keep those for my extra pair. I lost the other one - but it will show up and I'll be happy about that. I did need to replace the nose piece on one pair after years of wear. I'll buy them as long as they are available.

I have a very hard time finding sunglasses that do not make me look like I'm a child, borrowing her mother's sunglasses; 2) Grooved rubber nose pads are anti-slip when I start working up a sweat; 3) Rubber pads on the end of the arm, to also help with slipping; 4) Straight arm frames make it easy to wear a hat with the frames over the hat rather than between my ears and a hat. With certain hats, it just doesn't work to wear them the normal way so I appreciate this flexibility. My one negative is the new case. The design is pretty cool in that it packs flat when you are not storing your glasses, but it is an off triangle shape that just does not work well with my mini purse as the old sport case does. Also, when you are storing your glasses, it is not a perfect seal, as with a zipper closure. This allows particulate matter like sand/debris to get into the case, possibly scratching the lenses. What compounds this is that it comes with a cleaning cloth, rather than a cleaning pouch (which allowed me to store the glasses in the pouch before putting it in the case. For a sport pair of sunglasses, I want the extra protection that the old case provides so I will likely just trade out my case from my older pair.

I took off a star because when I went to replace them, the Sandy Beach appear on the website for sale but they are listed as "out of stock." That happens, of course, But, unless I'm missing something (totally possible) it would be nice if MJ would let a customer know when a style will be back in stock. Weeks? Months? More? Knowing that timeline would help customers make a decision to move on to another style or wait it out until their preferred style (in my case, Sandy Beach, black rim, blue lens) is back in stock. That said, we need the Asian fit, or "Universal Fit" as retailers call it. It gives the same glasses a flatter front and the nose pads are a bit bigger so it sits further away from your face. Good for small noses, prominent cheek bones, or in my case, long eyelashes. We returned to reorder those. These are probably perfect for most people though.The Maui Rose lense is fantastic. It has the benefits of the bronze color but better contrast. I can still see when it's overcast but it still works in sunny weather.
