Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner - 20 Plum Passion

Max Factor Lipfinity 24 hours in shade “Angelic” is my favourite shade and colour. It really does last a long time. I haven’t had it last 24 hours yet though, it does start to fade a little throughout the day. The colour when it first goes on is quite a thick and rich colour. It looks so natural on my skin tone and gives my lips a lovely definition. The top coat is creamy without being sticky. I’ve used this now for many years. It’s my go to shade and I genuinely hope they never discontinue it! Definitely try it for yourself and see how you get on with it..

I use the colors "Blush" and "Artesian Pink". Together they make a perfect color for me every day. I have very pale white skin so colors are best sort of muted and natural. The blush is darker, the artesian pink a light sweet pink. They last a lot longer than anything else (think dinner party, wiping mouth with napkin, sipping something, licking lips, etc and going to the restroom to find that you STILL have lipstick there!) . When I'm outside in day really casual I wear only Artesean Pink. When going out I wear Blush on my upper lip outline my bottom with it to form a better lip line. Fill in go over wth Artesian Pink in middle of lips. Blush also worn alone gives me a more polished formal look. Awful product not fit for purpose anymore

I don't know what on earth MF have done to these pencils - they are not creamy like before, you end up constantly having to sharpen them and over half of the pencil is wasted because they just will not sharpen - wood shavings everywhere and impossible to get a decent point. Total waste of money for a really awful product - the absolute worst MF product I have ever had. The splintered wood scrapes along your skin as you try to apply. Truly terrible. Max Factor - if it ain't broke don't try to fix it - bring back the old formula and ditch this cheap and nasty one. Will never buy again

Bring the old version back

After using this lip liner for years and years with no issues ( Pink princess) I feel I must tell you my thoughts about the new updated version of this liner. Max Factor has changed this pencil from black wood to light wood. This was a very bad move in my opinion and one which I don't understand. The wood is cheap, splinters, doesn't sharpen well, doesn't last long after sharpening and the splinters catch my lips. The old black version was smooth, hydrating, went on effortlessly and lasted a good while between sharpening. A quality product. Why Max Factor chose to change the wood is beyond me when the product change was not for the better. Like others reviewing this I would have gladly paid a bit more to keep my favourite liner. Won't be buying anymore.

Drop in quality

This was my favourite lip liner, but has declined in quality and I will no longer be purchasing it. Recently bought a new one, the pencil is now much thinner than the original and the lead inside the wood is even thinner so I have to sharpen it much more often than the old one. Wood is cheap and splinters easily. False economy Max Factor. I would have been happy to pay a bit more but keep the old standard. Will no longer purchase this.

Not like it used to be.......

I have bought this product for years, it was my go-to lip liner. However something has been changed or updated because now these pencils will not sharpen. I have tried several different sharpeners but the wood of the pencil just splinters off and breaks leaving an uneven somewhat jagged point and so much pencil is wasted trying to get it right. The pencil lead itself also seems to have changed because it is not soft and creamy like it used to be. In my opinion this product is not in the same street as it used to be and I wish Max Factor would bring back the old version. The quality is now very poor and I will not be buying this product any more, I am now looking for a suitable alternative. Used to be great! - What has happened??

I have been buying this Max Factor Lip liner for literally years - 'Mauve Moment' was called something different but just these last two years, MF have scrimped on the wood it is made from and also adjusted the formula. The colour is weaker and not so vibrant as before and the actual density it poor too. To add to the sharpening woes of other customers, because of cutting costs on the type of wood this pencil is made from, it is virtually impossible to sharpen and just splinters everywhere. shockingly, not up to the usual Max Factor standards, I'm afraid. I have had to buy another brand, but nothing compares to how the old formula was before they have tried to cut costs and spectacularly failed on this particular product. :(
