One of my absolute favorite lipstick brands are these @Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink Lipsticks! I first tried them about a year ago while out shopping for a nude lip that I would like on my olive skin tone. I found the number #40 Witty which has become my fav nude shade for an everyday look. I like the cute packaging which includes a doe foot applicator that works fine, but I still like to use lip brushes from time to time. Just my own personal preference. I bought several of these colors and the first one I tried was Capricious. I absolutely love the color - it’s a super saturated bright pinkish red with definite cool tones. I found that the formula of this was very smooth and the color was very saturated on the first coat (I added two light coats total). This has a thin, slightly pointed doe foot applicator which made it very easy to line and apply very precisely to my lips. I liked that this was one step and stayed glossy looking on its own. It did not require a gloss on top. This wore for several hours and I did not find that it transferred with normal/semi careful wear. I did rub it to see if it would come off, and noticed it smudged slightly at that point and did transfer color to my finger. #25 Red-Hot is HOTTTTTT!!!

I got #25 Red Hot And it’s definitely hot!! A very bright and vibrant red. I was worried at first because while applying, it seemed a bit translucent and the applicator seemed to be pushing the ink around. I actually added a second layer but it still didn’t appear matte enough. I left it alone at that point because it was beginning to dry and I didn’t want to make it worse. Well, fret not, because it actually dried matte! Not splotchy at all like I was worried about. I went out to eat with the hubby and kids and it kept a glossy finish while eating. No transfer either. It does take a few minutes to dry and it feels slightly tacky at first but it wears off. But since there’s not one, I’ll experiment with Fearless and Charged to see which suits my complexion better for darker looks. I have plans to buy the following: # 55 Royal (a deep sultry red) # 130 Extra (a brownish peach) # 110 Awestruck (mauve) # 135 Fearless ( a dark mauve-ish purple) # 140 Charged (a deeper darker purple) My complexion, if it helps: I have light skin. Olive undertones. Pink overtones. I use Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation in the color 30CG (stands for cool green). It’s a perfect match. My bare lips are purple-y which can affect how lip product shows once applied. But the Red-Hot vinyl ink was so pigmented that my natural color did not show through or affect appearance. Bottom line, get you some Vinyl ink!

While not specifically a moisturizing lipstick, I was very impressed by the smooth and healthy finish left by the formula once completely dried. The product claims to be smudge and transfer proof. I was happy to put this claim to the test - and even drank out of an aluminum soda can shortly after applying the product just to test the limits. Not a hint was transferred onto the can. I also did a test on the back of my hand with reasonable pressure. I did notice the vaguest tint transfer, but nothing overtly noticeable. I also appreciate that there is a drying time that allows you to buffer out harsh edges, or fix any mistakes before the product fully sets. This absolutely gave me saturated vinyl lips, and the velvety pink shade “Coy” is such a charming and romantic hue. A bit too opaque for me, but right on the mark if bold vinyl lips are what you seek.

The applicator is a favorite shape, felt easy to use and apply on the lips to get a good precision of my lip outline. The scent of the product was very appealing. It smelled like red vine licorice. When I applied the product on my lips, it felt smooth and sticky at first, which I let it dry after applying it on my lips, which a think it helped set the lipstick. The lipstick was applied in the morning and it lasted until takeoff, which was before bed. There was minimal transfer. I like this shade for formal amazing but this shade does not go well with my skin tone. I use this with a brown lipliner. As its own colour, I don't think it's for me. The pigmentation is strong, and with one swipe, you get full coverage, so you don’t need to layer it much. I’m going middle of the star rating because I neither love nor truly hate this product, but I am not a huge fan. I bought this on a coworker’s recommendation, who loves it, for an upcoming wedding. She told me it lasts forever, which is what I want since I don’t want to have to keep refreshing my lipstick. This definitely stays on. I had a hard time getting it off my lips. Granted I tried it for only a short period of time to see if I liked the color. I couldn’t leave it on for very long cause it was bothering me. I don’t wear lipstick often so it may just be me and my reasons for not wearing lipstick. It felt very dried on. I do use micellar water for makeup removal, but I’ve never had an issue before with removing any makeup. I swear I could still feel it the next morning. I think this product is a love/hate depending on the user and it is not a universal fit for all. Sadly it’s very pricey to find out you may hate it.

I think it's a really cute color I love the color it's has like three colors within it that I can see but I think it leans more towards a pink peach red color I like that it's a very subtle color when you first see it it looks like it's going to be something that's extremely bright but I like that it has a bit of sheer to it so it's not really popping where it's going to be the first thing that somebody notices when they look at you. I think the color is really beautiful on it it leans more towards a pink peach red color but I'm seeing a little bit more peach. I also like that it doesn't transfer. When you apply it it dries but it doesn't feel dry on your lips but when you're drinking or eating I noticed that it doesn't transfer on anything else so it stays on very well. The only reason why I rated it four stars is because I don't like the sticky feel that is on the lips when you apply it. I thought the stickiness would go away after it dried but it doesn't I feel my lips sticky wearing it and it's not a really bad stick but you still feel it especially when I'm talking and I'm using words that you have to use your lips for I can feel them sticking a little bit and that's just something that I didn't like about it. I think the packaging is incredible I think the color is beautiful I feel like the application looks really smooth and feels really good on your lips. The only thing that I don't like is that little sticky feeling on the lips.

Sorta shocked me because I had forgotten about it.So everything so far has been great, the big test for me though is the next day…. How would my dry lips handle the use they had recovery? Would be slightly parched, like needing a drink on a hot summer day, or dry and cracking as the yard after months of no rain? The results, neither. Oddly my lips felt like they had been given a lip treatment. I am blown away, I have found the holy grail of cosmetics, at least for me. 10/10 will be buying the other colors.
