Not that you want to be knocking the mic around, but I don't worry much that bumping something into my Yeti is going to cause any damage.Aesthetics are great, but they mean very little if your mic doesn't perform. Once again, Yeti doesn't disappoint. With the ability to change where the mic picks up sound, you can adjust this mic in nearly any position and still obtain clean, clear audio. Pattern and gain adjustments can be made on the mic directly using the dials on the rear of the mic. The volume dial and mute button are located on the front for in the moment needs. Sound quality is above par, especially when you take the time to appropriately setup and adjust settings at the start. This is true with any mic, your results can be greatly improved by spending some time properly setting the location, angle, pattern, gain, volume and figuring out proper speaking distance from the mic. The Blue Yeti will give you clear sounds with minimal to no distortion when prepped correctly. Pop filters can help decrease natural "pops" from speaking, and the use of a mounting arm can help to reduce noise pickup from being on the desktop. This becomes much more of a necessity for speech sensitive tasks such as podcasts or video chats. Gamers may not necessarily find this as much of a priority.I have two setups, both of which now have Blue Yetis as the primary use mics. One is for more professional business use on a MacBook Pro M1. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and FaceTime are the primary uses here. The second setup is on an M1 iMac and used for video creation / production, and gaming. I could not be happier with the design, appearance, dependability, and quality. I would have no reservations recommending Yeti to anyone who needs an affordable, quality workhorse of a mic.
