Vacuum came packaged well and is quite a bit bigger than I expected. Nice white colour. It glides along the floor well; the wheels are very smooth. I love the wide floor head, great for hard floors, it covers a large area in one go. The handle is chunky, strong and in a great position for lifting the vacuum. I like the little sections for you to "hold" the pipe and tube on the machine there are a couple of them, so it keeps the machine neat and tidy and safe from damage. The booklet that comes with the machine has a picture that took me a little while to fathom...being lazy and didn't want to read the words, I went straight to the pictures. It basically shows you where to pull the plug out of the housing, but the picture looks like a person is holding a small ... MoreVacuum came packaged well and is quite a bit bigger than I expected. I like the lengthening of the main solid pipe, very easy to glide up and down to make it longer or shorter for ease of use.

Pros: Since using this for a week or so now, there is a marked difference in the amount of dust residue being left behind. So it seems to do a good job of collecting and keeping the dust contained. The suction is excellent, much much better than our older other well known make. It really is quiet. Easy to use and store and good set of accessories.Cons: For the cost, which is steep, a shame that the mini turbo brush not included. The big one included is great but its not for the chairs and sofas. In addition if you need to reach high curtain tops with a dust brush then again a separate brush to attach to the long pole is needed as the integrated brush will only reach as far as your arm length. Overall though its very good hoover and a definite improvement on our ... MorePros: Since using this for a week or so now, there is a marked difference in the amount of dust residue being left behind. I've had Miele hoovers for years, so when we had need to replace, Miele was my go-to. This hoover is a good replacement, but doesn't necessarily feel like a particular upgrade to my previous MIELE Vacuum Cleaner 1800w S781i Solution HEPA T. Ours came with a turbo brush - which is good for carpets and rugs, but it doesn't necessarily live up to the 'anti hair wrap' which was previously touted doesn't really live up to it's name (not that this is particular issue for us, but it might be a bit more relevant where there are people or animals in a house with long hair).Noise wise, it's not not to bad. It sounds a bit vague, but it's what I would expect from a hoover. You could just about listen to something on AirPods whilst getting the hoovering done.Cord rewind is ... MoreI've had Miele hoovers for years, so when we had need to replace, Miele was my go-to. The tube and handle are easy to manage and freely move as you bring the hoover along behind you. The unit itself is pretty large and not the lightest if you're carrying it up and down stairs, however it's comfortable to carry with the solid handle at the top of the unit.Disappointingly, there's no slot to hold the handle / telescopic pole whilst the hoover is upright - which would be useful for storage.Emptying is very easy with it being bagless, however the surround of the waste unit does get pretty dusty and needs a wipe down to keep it in a good state. Cleaning filters is okay, though internal dust until is a bit awkward to remove and clean (for smaller particles).

The build quality and suction of this vacuum cleaner is the reason why I always come back to purchasing Miele products. I recently made the transition to a bagless vacuum cleaner as Ii had some reservations, however I am now sold on the idea. It is worth mentioning that this cleaner is slightly larger in physical dimensions to a conventional vacuum cleaner, however that was not an issue for me. I preferred the larger size, as it it meant I don't need to empty the container as often. The improved design on the telescopic tube and the variable control on the handle makes using this vacuum cleaner a breeze. I found that it glided easily across my carpet floor. I do like the idea of being able to visually see the amount of dirt being collected. I am allergic to animal hair and our kids have a cat so i am very sensitive to an effective cleaning. The suction on this thing is incredible although the noise isn't that loud. It's not light, but probably no heavier than other similar sized cylinder vacuums and for the most part you won't need to carry it as it's on wheels, it's just stairs where you might need to. I can reach half way up my stairs just with the main pipe and half way down. You can tell it's superb quality and does the job.It is super easy to put together and very easy to empty, with a clear instruction booklet. It's also bagless and fascinating to see what you collect in the container. It uses a single cyclone system which seems to be far more effective than others. It has a great self clean mode to regularly clean out the dust filter too and keep the suction strong so every so often you're meant to take that part out and give it a rinse. My rhinitis is very thankful to the power of this vacuum.
With Miele you suspect a certain level of quality but in a saturated market it's still sometimes difficult to justify the cost of an item like this when others are supposed to be the best ones on the market. You soon realise the CX1 is worth every penny once you open the box.Every part of the vacuum cleaner design is well considered, every plastic piece has a quality feel and the fit and finish is excellent and the number of tools packaged meet all your needs. In use it's quiet compared to others and the suction is incredibly powerful and the vacuum unit stable - especially compared with a "drunk" Henry that seems to want to cling to everything and topple over. You can see the carpets lift as you move across them with the easy to hold hose and even just after using a Dyson or the Henry in the same space it still picks up a lot of dust that has been left by the others. My only criticism is that when doing a fantastic job of picking up long hair this quickly tangles around the brush and isn't the easiest to remove without tools / cutting. All in all a great product that's incredibly good at what it's designed to do.
Pros: You can't beat good German engineering and this is a fine example of that. A smooth, sleek, stylish and powerful vacuum cleaner that is a pleasure to use.It has great suction and works effortlessly. The cleaning bin is superb and it has a lifetime HEPA filter, which is self-cleaning.The cable rewind system is brilliant - high powered rewind gets all the cable in - first time! The turbo brush head works really well on low pile carpet and hard floor, but bear in mind that this is NOT a motorised brush head (something I feel let's the product down ever so slightly) however, having a suction powered brush head works really well and is more efficient so that's probably a plus.I got myself a 3rd party turbo brush for the stairs and I can take it apart to remove long ... MorePros: You can't beat good German engineering and this is a fine example of that. It works well. The vacuum cleaner has two connection ports for the stick, so you can keep the unit flat or upright, great idea by Miele. It does weigh in a little heavier than my old cylinder vacuum but that's because there is so much going on inside. Saying that, I have non-issue carrying it one step at a time up or down the stairs. If you're elderly then you might want to take this point on board. The vacuum comes with plenty of attachments, some stored on board, which is very thoughtful of Miele.Overall, really pleased with this vacuum and at the right price you can't go wrong... If you're looking for reliability and quality parts then this is the vacuum for you.Cons: The only thing that lets Miele and their vacuums down is that the turbo brush does not come off the head so cleaning the hairs off of it is a chore in itself. The brush has a slot in it to allow for scissors to cut through wound up hair, but it's not simple and takes a while. You'll need to keep on top of that because the more hair that builds up, the more difficult it will get to take it all off and it effects the power/rotation of the brush via the suction power.Apart from that one hairy point to note, no negatives, it's a brilliant machine. Go get one!
My partner and I both really like this vacuum, it massively outperforms the one its replacing and cleans noticeably better. The Miele CX1 Comfort XL (In Lotus white) is a fantastic vacuum, from opening the box immediately you know this is a quality product. Also attached to the vacuum (slots in the rear) are 2 other accessories, a small std shaped head for upholstery or similar, and a long thin pointed head for the skirting, edges and to get into small gaps. Although there is very clear instructions it is easily clear how everything slots together as it is all manufactured to assemble only in one way. The main vacuum itself is a little larger than expected but then this is the XL model so I can't complain. The hose length is perfect for our use all round the house and the selection of heads all work very well. When using the vacuum, you may notice that the controls on the handgrip have no cables or connectors in the tubes, this is because they are wireless and under the controls is a cell battery (CR2032, similar to a lot of car key fobs) used to power the 3 buttons. On/Off single button, and up/down rocker for power setting. This wireless method is very well thought out, as it means you have no issues using different attachments, within reason any standard vacuum addon should work and does not need specific proprietary connections. The performance of this was shockingly good, the amount this picks up and appears in the waste collection is incredible. I am not sure my carpets have ever been this clean. Emptying is easy and quick to do, and the comfort clean feature is unique. 'Automagically' or manually if you wish, the vacuum realises the air throughput is subpar and it starts a self-clean cycle which turns the vacuum off then runs through a cleaning process which I believe clears the dust off the filters and returns it to optimum performance.
Ordered this after having had two previous Dysons which in fairness both lasted well but I wanted a change. I did think the Miele was expensive but knew from recommendation it was quality.Have now had it a month and really pleased with it. The suction is so strong at its highest I could barely move it on a rug. Made me realise how powerless my old one had become.the base glides really easily due to it's wheels. The tools are handy and the long crevice tool is useful for sofa and the car. It's quiet in comparison to others I have had too.The cord rewind is rapid - make sure you stand clear! It's worth it.
I bought this vacuum to replace my old Shark. This one is more comfortable to use due to its long hose and 4-point swivel casters. Very easy to reach any spot under furniture. My house is a mixture of carpet, hard floors, and large rugs, and I was worried that it would be problematic to clean everything properly. But the suction is fantastic; I can use different settings of cleaning power to quickly clean the pet hair and dirt throughout the house. It's a bit heavy and problematic for the stairs, but due to the long hose, the problem can be resolved fast. The container is very easy to empty. Due to a large 11 m cleaning radius, you can clean large rooms easily. The short hairs that are usually embedded in fabrics are easily removed. Also, it is very easy to store, and the on-board storage is great for keeping the dusting brush and upholstery, crevice, and flexible nozzles all in one place and within easy reach. I highly recommend this vacuum, it's very much worth its price tag.
