Miele Boost CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum Cleaner - Obsidian Black

The CX1 is surprisingly light weight and has multiple power settings so you can safely clean anything from curtains to wood floors. The vacuum cleaner comes with multiple attachments for pretty much any and every interior type. The easily extendable handles / pole and great flexibility means it's good for getting under furniture such as sofas and easily adaptable to be comfortable to use regardless of your height. It has recommended settings for each floor type which are easy to navigate with diagrams depicting various surfaces and their corresponding settings. Having used this at a new house we just bought (which was left a little dirty & dusty) it gave us an excellent opportunity to test it across multiple surfaces. During use, the vacuum cleaner picked up a majority of dust and debris within one or two sweeps, although on some older carpets with particularly deep dirt and grit, the vacuum picked up the carpets as well, which meant reducing the power and some of the grit remained engrained in the carpets. Overall the product appears to be lightweight yet durable and serves as a good quality multifunctional vacuum cleaner, which is more user friendly than any I've used previously.

First impressions were very good. The vacuum cleaner all goes together well, and the quality of the product is very obvious (especially when compared to our cordless VAX which has several bits broken after only a few months). I'll admit our wonderful cleaner has used it more often than we have, but we all agree it is manoeuvrable, vacuums well, and also empties relatively easily and cleanly. We have a brush bar on the heads of both our cordless vacuum and the Harry (pet version of Henry), and that is useful when our cat is moulting. This version of the Miele lacks a powered brush - if you have pets I would probably consider upgrading to the pet version. One niggle is that the handle to release the dust container is the same size as the handle to lift the vacuum itself and located where you would normally expect to lift the vacuum... cue all of us regularly picking up the wrong handle and removing the dust container instead of lifting the vacuum. Our cleaner mentioned the very easy-to-use adjustable hose, and the handy tool storage. Dust container is a decent size. All in all, we will probably keep both our Harry and cordless vacuums as they have the powered brush bars, but I'm afraid Harry has been relegated to being the upstairs vacuum. The Miele is an excellent quality product - just wish we'd got the pet version!

The ability to simply adjust the main head for use on wooden floors is a great feature allowing you to alternate from carpets to wood with ease. And my goodness it managed to suck up dirt from between the floorboards that must have been there a long time. It is powerful- but also gentle and still effective if you reduce the power for cushions and throws- all easily done by following the imagery on top of the machine. The other attachments are good too, particularly for pet hair removal (even though this is not the cat and dog version). It's compact and although not exactly lightweight it isn't a slog pulling it around. We've used a cordless competitor's model in recent years, so getting used to the cable again earns it 4 stars. And it looks cute- enough to be called "the robot" by our 2 year old 🙂
