Although the battery was defective upon arrival, I reordered another one. The quality of these are outstanding. And occasionally the battery comes defective. I've had this issue with a drill set, but home Depot reorders it or issues a new one without any problem. Once the battery performs once, it is good to go. I do recommend the Milwaukee brand.

At the time i bought this, it was 139.99In perspective, the battery on its own is 169.99.I happened to need to replace my old milwaukee impact, and had a need for a bit more capacity for my band saw. This deal made sense since the impact was essentially free and the battery works great in my band saw. I can now make numerous cuts without the battery dying.Quality is top notch, as is typical for milwaukee, motor sounds clean and precise, impact indeed works great. If you need an impact and a reliable battery this deal is a no brainer.

Great driver. I have M12 and while it is more nimble. Lighter. And still powerful. If I was building the deck. Or screwing around (dad joke) all day I would definitely want the M18. It installs the screws faster. And has more torque. 8 used it to assemble the aerator. It was quick. And since it was new to me, I didnt go all the way with tightening the bolts with the driver. I finished them by hand. But I can see how with little bit of practice I could figure out what it takes to install the bolts or nuts and when to stop to have them tight enough Its still small and easy to use (not M12 small though). If I had just one! Id have this one! M18.

I love this drill so much! It does wonders around the house, and more powerful than any small impact drill I have previously owned. I would like to have the full lineup of Milwaukee products eventually. I will definitely be sticking with this brand for the rest of my life. Very reliable, very user-friendly, very quick at charging, and very fun to use!
First of all very heavy tool with 3 Amp battery. Also very noisy when Impact feature is engage.Led which they put underneath leading to big shadow in dark places.Direction of Rotation switch is far from trigger and it's not ergonomic to your hand and switch is hard for switching.Unable to change bit in chuck with one hand. You have to have always pull out chuck in order to insert bit.But the big cons is that Impact Driver behave as Hammer drill !!! Yes, "hammer drill" !You will have to press hard this tool to wood otherwise your bit will jump out from head of the screw. We tested with Home Depot associate and he also was surprised with such "feature" in Milwaukee but not on other brands.Pros: Long lasting 3.0 Amp battery and 5 years warranty.Great ... MoreFirst of all very heavy tool with 3 Amp battery. My family has been in the construction industry for several decades. I have used MANY drills, impact wrenches, and impact drivers-all battery or air powered. I’ve also done professional work in the mechanical repair industry ranging from small engines to large bobcats and tractors. This little guy here……WORTH EVERY PENNY. Invest in sheer quality by buying these products-they are built to be used, abused, and perform. I won’t be going back to anything else other than Milwaukee. Thanks for putting out a quality product you guys!!!!
Let me start by saying that I'm a retired contractor that now owns/operates a small working farm w/several AirBNB cabins, so I'm always busy and constantly using my Milwaukee power tools. I switched from Dewalt to Milwaukee exclusively in 2006. In fact, I just purchased 2 5.0 and a 12.0 battery at Home Depot during Black Friday Sale. Now, about this 1/4" impact driver. I absolutely HATE IT! So do my helpers. It isn't variable speed, as advertised. When you touch the trigger, IT GOES! I also don't believe that it's only 2750 rpm. When you squeeze the trigger, it takes off at what seems like 4000 rpm or more. I guess the advertisement was correct with the 0-2750 rpm designation, meaning it's either zero or full blast, because there's NO in between. I mean, the thing ... MoreLet me start by saying that I'm a retired contractor that now owns/operates a small working farm w/several AirBNB cabins, so I'm always busy and constantly using my Milwaukee power tools. I guess the advertisement was correct with the 0-2750 rpm designation, meaning it's either zero or full blast, because there's NO in between. I mean, the thing works great, but sometimes finesse is what's needed and slower speeds allow finesse. Full throttle, does not! In fact, I hate this one so much, that I tried to buy the similar one that was surge fuel at Home Depot with 2 5.0 ah batteries, but they were out. I did lots of research to make sure it was actually going to be variable speed and not stop or go, like this one. I hate it so badly that I came on line today, while using it, to see what the description says....yep, it says 0-2750, which should be variable speed. Now I am a little confused and worried that if I buy yet another 1/4" hex impact driver, that it will be the exact same scenario.
While I did not buy this tool myself, I wanted to leave a review. I use this impact at work all the time and it is amazing. This impact was heavily abused when I started using it, and I've tortured it quite a bit myself. The torque of this impact is higher than any other impact I've used. Don't even try to use non-impact rated bits with this thing. It WILL shatter them! (I know from experience) I used this impact to drive 9" lag bolts into solid posts and it didn't give an inch. I can't speak for it's long-term durability, but considering how abused it was, I'd say they're tough. After driving 3" screws into 6x6's for literally an hour, the tool is no worse for the wear. After seeing how great Milwaukee tools are, I'm planning on buying my own impact soon.
I have always used my trusty Craftsman drill for most of my DIY jobs. That is until my family convinced me to buy a Milwaukee Impact Driver. I was blown away by the power of this tool. It makes jobs take seconds instead of minutes. I love the speed control of the finger trigger. The tool is lightweight and the battery lasts a good while. I absolutely love my new tool. Wish that I had had it years ago.
After buying this, I can't understand why anyone would buy a hyper tough driver (from Walmart) or Ryobi (home depot) product. I mean, this is Milwaukee we're talking about!! For about $20/30!!! We know their quality is impeccable. So the only thing that would make sense is you're not sure if this product is still in working condition; to which I assure you that besides for the 'used' appearance, mine is like brand new (and I know what milwaukee brand new is because I've bought other stuff from them). Go and get it!
