Best midget ratchet ever! 90 tooth is genius. Smooth and strong. The design is basically ergonomic in nature and is actually a pleasure to use. Milwaukee has become my brand these days. No gimmicks, just incredible tools. I’ve got a full line of their M18 Fuel series and each tool is phenomenal. I wish Milwaukee made a 3/8” version of this tiny ratchet.

Hello Mr. Stubby! Compact yet, maintains that weight of a quality tool. The feel in your hand is good. Like the other Milwaukee ratchets I’ve bought and used in the shop, I give the finish an 8 out of 10. And in the same breath I would have liked to have seen the Milwaukee logo stamped into the head instead of the laser etching. The backlash is extremely minimal which makes up a short arch and works out nice when in a pinch. The on/off switch stand slightly proud of the ratchets body. Personally, I prefer the switching to be just like this allowing for easy changes. In the future, I would appreciate an 11” version of this 1/4” ratchet and a stamped logo in the ratchets head.

I have owned hundreds of hand tools, but never one that I would describe as "cute." But the Milwaukee 1/4 in. Drive 90-Tooth 3 in. Stubby Ratchet is small, slick and fits in the palm of my hand. It looks and functions just like Milwaukee's larger 3/8" or 1/2" ratchets. Because it is as small as the palm of my hand it can go just about anywhere my hand can go. I recently changed the blower resistor module on my 2004 Ford Ranger. Removing and installing the module is difficult in a very tight space, but this 1/4" stubby made it a lot easier. It is also slick for turning in hex screws on downspouts and soffits.

I love this little stubby ratchet! Perfect for quickly removing smaller bolts or any bolt that is already loosened. At just under 3 inches long is it’s very short which is great for working in tight spaces. At ¾ of an inch thick, it’s pretty thin as well compared to a normal ratchet which makes it easy to work in small areas. The ratchet is pretty good quality and all the markings are easy to read and engraved including a part number. When holding the rachet there’s only about an inch of handle you can use. The teardrop head is pretty long in proportion to the ratchet and can make it hard to hold when combined with the slick surface of the chrome.Overall it’s a pretty good ratchet for small spaces but can be difficult to hold on to. Worth it when you are tempted ... MoreI love this little stubby ratchet! Perfect for quickly removing smaller bolts or any bolt that is already loosened. I wish this would have arrived yesterday while I was trying to swap out kitchen sink faucets! The underneath-the-sink portion of old faucet sported rusted nuts on 6" threaded rods. In the way was all the plumbing and garbage disposal unit underneath the sink. I could barely touch the bottom of the threaded rods, and had to use a mirror to see things. I used a 12" wobble extension to get a deep socket on the nuts to break them free. Now what. I didn't have enough room to swing the ratchet more than a few clicks. I have several 1/4" ratchets--all of them, including the ones with swivel heads, were too long to swing among all the plumbing below the sink. Those 6" of rusted threads seemed like forever, a few clicks at a time, on my back in a very uncomfortable ... I tried using my round ratcheting "spin off", but there just wasn't enough torque in my grip to get past the rusted threads. This 3" Stubby 90 tooth Ratchet by Milwaukee would have been the perfect tool for the job. The 90 tooth pawl allows for a fine swing and click every 4 degrees. The wrench is 3" long--much shorter than all of my other ratchets, but has more leverage than my circular spin off. It feels comfortable in my hand and looks/works great. Sweet. 5 stars for an excellent tight quarters problem solver.
Milwaukee 1/4 in. Drive 90-Tooth 3 in. Stubby Ratchet - a Home Depot Seeds Program ReviewI have lots of sockets for my ratchets and lots of ratchets for my sockets. Many times, though, I’ve wanted to use a ratchet but the swing of the handle was too great for the space I was working in. This Milwaukee 1/4 in. Drive 3 in. Stubby Ratchet really works in those tight spaces. This stubby ratchet is cute – effective but cute. At 3 inches it fits easily and completely in the palm of your hand. This means that if your hand can reach in a tight spot, this ratchet will fits as well. With 90 teeth, the ratchet doesn’t have to be thrown very far to be able to turn a nut or drive a bolt. This also really helps in tight spots. The first thing I needed it for was turning nuts onto bolts around irregularly bent pieces. The standard handle was too long to work well but this 3 inch ratchet worked great!Obviously, the 3 inch length doesn’t give you much leverage to torque a nut or bolt down very hard but that really isn’t where its strength lies. The fit of sockets is very good. There’s no socket release so the friction fit must be good. I have not had a socket detach unexpectedly. This is pretty important to me because I hate pulling the ratchet away from a nut and the socket remains. The finish is polished chrome which is easy to clean and shows up well when laying loose on the ground. The forward/reverse switch is metal and operates smoothly. Obviously, it’s designed to be used with ¼ inch sockets, but I suppose, with the proper adapter, it could be used with 3/8 inch sockets. I think I would try to find a 3/8 inch stubby ratchet if I wanted to do that. The Milwaukee 1/4 in. Drive 90-Tooth 3 in. Stubby Ratchet is a great addition to my ratcheting tools. It small enough to fit fully in the palm of your hand allowing you to work in very tight spots. The 90 teeth means you don’t have to throw the handle very far to get an effective turn on what ever you’re driving. The entire ratchet is a polished chrome for easy cleaning. Even the forward reverse switch is metal. This ratchet should last for many years and has already earned a spot with my most used tools.
Milwaukee Tools and The Home Depot have a nice, handy, small ratchet !This 3 inch long, 1/4 inch drive, 90 tooth ratchet is perfect for all the tightspaces we always find in most of our chores that we do in today's world ofdown-sizing ! The 90 tooth gearing allows for 4 degree arc angle ! With a3/8 inch adaptor you can even use a little larger socket size and still remainsmall in hand ! This is the perfect ratchet to add to your home or work tool-box ! I highly recommend this fine little tool ! (see photos)
More and more people are seeing the benefit of ¼” drive tools. They are space saving, allowing you to get into tighter spaces and sometimes you just don’t need a big socket set for certain jobs. This little ratchet is a great addition to your tool collection. It’s small enough to get into a lot of places many others won’t. With the 4 degree arc, it makes it that much more useful. Four degrees of movement isn’t much. Think about that when you’re in a position where you can barely move your hand. This is a lifesaver. Another plus with this small ratchet, is it helps prevent over-torqueing fasteners, by not having the leverage that larger tools give. And don’t think that because this is a small ¼” tool that it’s not made with the same high quality of their other tools, ... MoreMore and more people are seeing the benefit of ¼” drive tools. SMALL; USEFUL; WORKS WELL — The Milwaukee 1/4 in. Drive 90-Tooth 3 in. Stubby Ratchet is so small that at first it looks like a toy. However, I have already found it useful when I needed to tighten several nuts in close quarters on a tool which required assembly. My other, larger ratchets would not fit. However, the stubby ratchet would and since it only needs a 4 degree arc to swing, it worked well. Since it has such a short handle, it did not provide significant torque for the final tightening. Then I used a combination wrench to finish the job. Since a goal of the ratchet is a slim profile, it is not a quick-release ratchet. Sized for those applications where a full-sized ratchet handle is too bulky to fit and a thumb-wheel drive is too small, this 3-inch-long stubby ratchet handle is conveniently sized (see photo). The 90 tooth ratchet gear results in a 4-degree arc swing (great for limited access locations) and the smooth, chrome-plated handle features a “necked-down” section to minimize slipping (even is greasy). I find the smooth, plated finish my preference as my shop area is unheated and unplated tools tend to require frequent attention to avoid corrosion (although some folks do prefer unplated and/or knurled finish grips). The toggle to change ratchet direction is recessed to further slim down the profile for easy access in tight locations. The ratchet mechanism is serviceable, ... If you need to deal with small fasteners in limited space applications, this ratchet handle will be a handy addition to your tool box.
