Mindware - Qwirkle Rummy
In terms of its gameplay, Qwirkle Cards plays somewhat like Rummikub, with players laying down cards/tiles from their hand onto the table and possibly moving things around to create new sets. In more detail, players start with a hand of nine cards from the 108-card deck; each card shows a colored symbol, with each of the six symbols appearing three times in each of the six colors. Whoever has the most cards in hand of one symbol or one color (but without duplicates) starts the game by laying these cards face up on the table as a set. Players then take turns in clockwise order. On a turn, a player must add at least one card to the table; if she can't, she draws nine new cards, shuffles her old hand into the deck, then plays. When she plays, she can play as many cards as she likes as long as they share a color or symbol. She can create a new set if she plays at least three cards or she can add her cards to existing sets (as long as she doesn't duplicate a color or symbol) or she can do both. On her turn, she can move cards from one set to another, possibly using these cards with cards that she plays in order to create a new set. The point of this gameplay is to create qwirkles, that is, a set of six cards that contains either each symbol in a single color or each color in a single symbol. When a player creates a qwirkle, she claims this set from the table. After a player's turn, she refills her hand to nine cards.

We just bought this game and the colors are horrible. Clearly the designers never checked how the colors would print compared to how they look on the computer. The blue and purple are rendered very similarly. Additionally, the red on a black background are reminiscent of 1990s webpages and just as hard on the eyes.

If you like the Quirkle cube game, this is definitely worth trying. Itβs similar, but does have many differences, and offers a lot more opportunity for using actual skill versus luck. For the price, such a great value!

Great game! My son loves Quirkle, and my mom has always loved Gin Rummy! Perfect blend of both

This is our new favorite game! I bought this for my husband for his birthday, as he loves cards, and we love to play games as a family. Very easy to pick up on, fun for the whole family.
Dead end to start for the first to attempts. Instructions donβt say what to do if you canβt go at the start. Also if you play all your cards on you last go, those after you can make more Qwirkles, so only play what gets you qwirkles.
I love Rummy. I love Qwirkle. Having the two combined in card format, I not so sure whether I will love it. Just played it once. But innovation and creativity are always welcome. Shipping cost of just buying the game is more expensive than the game itself. The vendor responded to my inquiry of alternative shipping method promptly and offered free shipping. It is a big LIKE, not that I want everything free. I am suggesting some kind of pick-up center. I received my order without issues : )
Really love this game, a new take on qwirkle and rummy, which we have been playing for years. One huge big gripe is - please could you make the 'blue' more of a true blue (like aqua??) - it's really difficult to tell the difference between 'blue' and purple.
FRIST THING, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT BUT THE LADY WHO TOOK MY CALL TOLD ME ALL ABOUT IT.AFTER GETTING THE GAME AND PLAYING WITH A FRIEND WE DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT TO DO AFTERYOU PLAY ALL NINE CARDS AND DRAWN NINE MORE. WE PLAY ANOTHER CARD GAME WHERE YOU KEEPPLAYING. BUT THIS ONE, AFTER YOU PLAY YOUR FRIST NINE YOU DRAWN NINE MORE AND STOP, WHICHI LEARDES AFTER READING AND LISTENING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE LADY ON THE PHONE.
We love Qwirkle Rummy. It is much like the original Qwirkle without having to add up any scores. Walmart has the best price too!
fun game for the entire family. kids of all ages will love this. Great spin on the old rummy game i remember as a child.
