Monster Jam Mega Grave Digger

I received this product free from FamilyRated in exchange for my honest review. When this product arrived, I was truly surprised at how big this monster truck was as I anticipated something much smaller. My son is about 4 ft tall and this truck came up to about his knee caps. The truck is made up of mostly plastic and the wheels are made up of foam. I appreciated the details in the truck to make it look like Grave Digger and especially the red lights. This truck was fairly light weight and easily handled by my 4 yr old, but I am concerned based on how it's made, it would not be a toy that would last very long. The truck itself was awesome on our driveway, but was struggling quite a bit in the grass. The truck itself was awesome on our driveway, but was struggling quite a bit in the grass. Also, even at the highest speed, the truck had a hard time going over obstacles.I think my husband enjoyed this toy as much as my 4 yr old. Even my husband got super excited to play with the monster truck once my son wanted to take a break. In general, the remote control was easy to play with for a 4 yr old, but it took a few extra times for him to control it in the exact place he wanted the truck to go. He played with the monster truck until the battery died, so I would say he thoroughly enjoys this toy. If I had to mention any drawbacks, it would be this is quite a mega toy, so it's going to take up more space than average. Additionally, I'm not sure how long this toy will last, especially with the foam tires. Overall, this toy is the coolest and perfect for girls and boys that like monster trucks and even better if Grave Digger is their favorite one.

I honestly have to say that this is the coolest RC Monster truck that I've ever seen! It's enormous! The sheer size of it alone makes it super fun to play with. My son freaked with excitement when we opened the box! But it's also an excellent quality toy and has some awesome features.Even though I got this toy for free (#GOTITFREE), this review is my total honest opinion. I think I was just as excited as my son when we got it out of the box and got to drive it around, and I definitely had just as much fun as him playing with it and testing it out!First, it charges super easy by a built in USB cable (which is super convenient - no searching for charging cables), and it actually charges really quick. Also, it stays charged for a really long time. We've played with this for intervals of about two hours or so, and the battery hasn't lost it's charge on us once, which is super impressive to me.And it really does drive over objects like a real monster truck! It does have to get going and get a little momentum, but then it easily goes over just about any obstacle you put in front of it as long as it's not ridiculously high or steep compared to the size of the toy. It doesn't work as well going from a still position directly in front of the obstacle, but if you place it a little farther back and let it get some speed going, it has no problems getting over stuff - which is super cool. Also, our lawn is a big 8 acre lot, and does have some bumpy spots and long grass in places, and this thing trucked right along great. That also impressed me, as most toys go rather slow or not at all in our grass. However, when you put in on pavement, concrete, or even gravel - this thing flies! It really catches some serious speed and I was shocked about how fast it actually can go! This toy is just so cool!Another thing that is great about it is that the remote is super easy to use for my five year old son. He got the hang of it instantly, and there was no learning curve at all. One great feature on it is that if the wheels get out of alignment, there are buttons to push on the remote to easily correct this. It's also super light. My five year old son was picking it up and carrying it around easily. This is great because I don't have to worry about him straining or hurting himself trying to play with it. And it's quality made and sturdy - my son is quite an active little boy and this toy definitely passed the toughness test with ease! Also, this toy has inspired a lot of creativity in both me and my son, figuring out obstacles to make it go over and creating tracks and paths to drive it on. We've gotten so many hours of fun out of this toy, that I can't say enough good things about how cool it actually is. I honestly think ANY family will have a blast playing with this. And it's an excellent quality toy that is made to last, while also being kid-operator friendly. My son just turned five, and has a tendency to get easily frustrated when toys get complicated or are counter-intuitive to him. He never got frustrated one time playing with this, and I could tell he was really proud of himself that he had mastered driving it and making it do cool stuff. This is the coolest RC toy I've ever seen or played with, and you will get so many hours of enjoyment out of it. Seriously, you can't go wrong or regret buying this toy - it's incredibly cool, does more than I've seen any RC truck do yet, and it will last - totally worth every penny!!!!

The Monster Jam Mega Grave Digger Remote Control Monster Truck is mega size and mega fun. It's over two feet long and has red headlights that light up. It can drive up steps, through grass, and jump obstacles and even over a person (we tried that and it didn't hurt). The foam tires are soft enough that they didn't damage anything when crashing it indoors, but they are strong enough that they look new after several uses indoors and outdoors. My five year old son was able to figure out how to use the remote control quickly, but is still getting the hang of steering it well. However, he prefers chasing it around the neighborhood while my husband drives it. We have had to remind him several times that he can't sit on the truck, because he could break it. It probably would have been a good gift for my husband even if he didn't have a kid. I think this is a great buy for people of all ages with an interest in monster trucks, remote control vehicles and/or fun, unique toys.Note: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

A Home Run with my 4 year old Grandson

He is a huge Monster Jam fan already (we have gone to Monster Jam shows for the past 2 years at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ). His mouth dropped open when he saw this in the toy store and begged Grammy and Pop-pop to buy it for him. He was soooo happy walking out the store with his Grave Digger Monster Truck. When we got home, he couldn’t wait to charge it (it was fully charged pretty quickly). We then took it outside to our back yard and he was controlling it within a couple of minutes. We have a ramp which we use for bike riding which he quickly figured out we could use for the MJ truck driving it up and down the ramp. He LOVES this truck! It is a CAN’T MISS gift for a 4 year old boy!

Horrible quality. Not worth this steep price

I wish I didn’t have to give this a star. Horrible quality. It was a gift so I can’t return or exchange and it broke after a couple plays. Tires wont stay on, battery only stays charged for maybe 10 min. Remote seems to have some sort of short in the wire or something. Only works for a second then stops. My kid is so upset about this

Its Fun, but the Price May be a Little High

Got this for my son for Christmas 2021 who loves Grave Digger. He was so excited when he saw this toy. For the most part you get what you expect out of any other Monster Jam R/C truck. The downfall is the low battery life. It seems to last longer if you drive on flat ground, but going over obstacles or even driving on grass really wears down the battery very fast. The body of the truck is not that durable either so if you are trying to recreate Monster Jam type stunts on TV, you may end up with a broken truck very quickly. I rated this product 4 out of 5 stars, because any Monster Jam fan would love this and it is a lot of fun, but the battery life and durability are responsible for a loss of 1 star.

Robust but flawed

Bought this remote control car for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas.Initially I was very impressed with it as it is quite a sturdy and robust toy.(It will not be easily broken.)However, there are a couple of things about it that I was disappointed with:1. This truck does not have the ability to mount paths. For example, if the child is driving it on the pavement in front of their house and the truck accidentally goes off the path onto the road, there is no way for the child to drive it back up on to the path as it won’t mount the an average path/step.2. I was also disappointed with the speed of it on short grass, it literally goes at a snails pace…- (When I watched the YouTube video of this truck flying around on different surfaces and mounting tree ... MoreBought this remote control car for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas.Initially I was very impressed with it as it is quite a sturdy and robust toy.(It will not be easily broken.)However, there are a couple of things about it that I was disappointed with:1. Rubbish, don’t buy

This truck is truly underwhelming, it doesn’t go very fast; nor does it go over mounds or jumps very easily either. Before I purchased it, the demo video on the Smyths advertisement included footage of the truck easily driving over small mounds and doing stunts but my son can’t get it to go over even very small mounds without spinning its wheels. There was also footage on the website of the truck being driven on water but that has now been removed and states that the toy should not be used on water. The price of £119 is a complete rip off. The cab is really flimsy plastic and the wheels are made of styrofoam, wouldn’t have cost more than a fiver to make it. The battery runs flat quickly, only lasts about 15mins and that’s just with my son driving it on the pavement ... MoreThis truck is truly underwhelming, it doesn’t go very fast; nor does it go over mounds or jumps very easily either. Super big and super powerful!

This RC is awesome! My son was super excited when we got this Mega Grave Digger and it surely didn’t disappoint. When we first got this out of the box, we couldn’t believe its size! It is huge! Even though it is over two feet long it is super light! The tires are also massive! We were also impressed with the design and the detail of this RC! It looks identical to the original Monster Truck! To add to the fun, this truck makes realistic rumbling noises and has working headlights, how cool is that! This remote control vehicle is truly impressive, it drives super-fast and the range is awesome! It took my son a little while to get used to the controller but he is now able to use it with ease. My son takes this RC though grass, stones, over obstacles and it just keeps going! My son has played hard with this RC and it is still going strong. This RC is extremely well made and durable. The battery in the RC last a long time but when it does need to be recharged, the truck comes with a USB cord. The controller itself takes batteries but we haven’t had to replace them yet so they seem to last a long time. This is an awesome toy that has provided my little one with so much fun! I definitely recommend this RC! This Mega Grave Digger would make a fabulous gift!

Super fun toy

People giving this 1 star don't know what they're talking about. First, it has styrofoam tires to keep it light so that it can climb over all kinds of stuff. They are fairly durable and have a rubber tread on them for traction. We haven't had any issues at all with the tires. We have a bunch of big rocks in our yard and this thing can climb over them all. It can also climb over my 6 year old if he lays down on the ground. It's super fun to play with and it has a battery that in my opinion, charges faster and lasts longer than 90% of the remote control vehicles out there (at least the ones that are available at Target). I would say it's entirely an outside toy though. Unless you have a huge house with big open spaces, it's too big and too fast for inside.A few ... MorePeople giving this 1 star don't know what they're talking about. I would say it's entirely an outside toy though. Unless you have a huge house with big open spaces, it's too big and too fast for inside.A few days after we bought it, one of the kids accidentally stepped on it pretty hard and snapped off one of the tires. I called the support line and they didn't send the part, they sent an entire new truck, so now we have a spare parts truck which is pretty cool. It's fairly easy to take parts off and swap them out. I'd say the quality on this is slightly higher than the typical "made in China" remote control car.Overall, given the high level of support that you get with this, the fun you and your kids will have with it, I think it's worth the price (we got it on sale over the holidays, I think we paid $80). It's way more fun than any other remote control car for kids.
