This card smells of artificial product segmentation...ie., it doesn't need to be nerfed with such a low power limit, yet MSI seems to have set the limits as low as they have to stay away from eating their own sales for the Gaming Trio (X and non-X lines). If that's not enough, for roughly the same price the Asus TUF 3070 has a stock board power of 240 watts and allows the user to overpower the card up to 270 W. Adding insult to injury, this card uses the exact same PCB and components as MSI's Gaming Trio 3070 (again, X and non-X lines. See techpowerup's teardown of the 3070 Gaming X Trio and compare with this card.) While the heatsink on the Gaming Trio appears to be different (different shroud and finstack), this card performs so excellently under a 220 W load ... MoreThis card smells of artificial product segmentation...ie., it doesn't need to be nerfed with such a low power limit, yet MSI seems to have set the limits as low as they have to stay away from eating their own sales for the Gaming Trio (X and non-X lines). Adding insult to injury, this card uses the exact same PCB and components as MSI's Gaming Trio 3070 (again, X and non-X lines. See techpowerup's teardown of the 3070 Gaming X Trio and compare with this card.) While the heatsink on the Gaming Trio appears to be different (different shroud and finstack), this card performs so excellently under a 220 W load there's no doubt that it could handle more power, especially given that its components (including VRM, of course) are identical to the Gaming Trio. In terms of performance, MSI's choice of 220 W for this card costs the user about 5 to 10% of what they'd get out of a card with 240 W to 270 W board power, which, ironically, is about the cost difference between this card and the FE's MSRP. Having said all that, none of this really seems to be MSI's fault. Gamer's Nexus has reported from an industry contact that board partner margins are at an all-time low thanks to how Nvidia is pricing thier silicon. Additionally, Nvidia's aggressive, often impossible or totally unrealistic pricing (re: 2080 Ti, RTX 3000 launch) has forced partners to make compromises (like this card, where the MSRP of MSI's 3070 Ventus 3X is 12% more than the FE) that just hurt the consumer. Obviously Asus has managed to deliver a 3070 package with an MSRP commensurate with its apparent performance gains, but while MSI has not, I can't believe it's because they don't want to be competitive with other products. The only likely reason is that Nvidia is making it impossible for their partners to work on such narrow margins, who kick then kick the bucket down to consumers. Altogether: if you cannot find any other 3070 to buy, this card will get an Nvidia GA-104 into your system. However, almost any other model or manufacturer is probably a better price-to-performance option, like the Asus TUF 3070 mentioned above. If you're feeling especially anti-consumer you might even consider Nvidia's own 3070 Founder's Edition, but know that you're solidifying a behemoth's position and controlling power over the industry.

Pros: Decent performance, runs quiet around 25-30 degrees idle and runs around 55-65 degrees when playing. I have the Asus vg248qe 1080p 144hz and the lg27gl83a-b 1440p 144hz. It's really good for 1080p gaming for those who still plays in 1080p but it's best playing in 1440p for those who plans to upgrade to 1440p from 1080p. Best experience I had in 1440p.Cons: It's a little lackluster if people wants to overclock comparing to other 3070 gpu cards. The price isn't worth the extra msrp that there are other better 3070s. There's no rgb but that may not be a con for those who doesn't like rgb.Verdict: This is worth buying if you are trying to get any rtx 30xx series without buying from scalpers and if you are using this gpu card as a non-oc card.

This was a fantastic deal for this card and it perforns exactly as I expected. Also as expected the card does have cosmetic wear and tear but it hasn't effected anything so far. One issue I had was that the card was shipped pretty much completely loose in it's packaging, but it did at least come in an anti static bag. It shipped quickly and on time as well.
I recommend this card with the caveat that I would purchased different cards if we were not in a GPU apocalypse. I wanted a card that could provide ray tracing and DLSS for games like Cyberpunk, and this card absolutely delivered. I can get 60 FPS on Psycho RTX, with quality DLSS on 1440p and ultra settings on Cyberpunk with this card. However, the price to performance could be better as there are cheaper 3070s and 3070tis that have better performance for the same cost or less. Thus, anyone choosing to go with this card for gaming in 1440p will be happy, though you can likely find the same performance or better for the same price or cheaper if the GPU apocalypse ends.
Purchased this but was not picky on which 30 series card I received, wanted anything I could get my grubby hands on.I am overall very satisfied with this however; the card is powerful enough for me to do all kinds of gaming and was easy as pie to install. The card also came with a support arm to help prevent GPU sag, which was a VERY nice bonus. If you care about color, this would be good for any sort of grayscale build, as there is no RGB (which I don't care for, but you might!)
I only had this for a week but it was really nice. I found a 3080, which is what I really wanted, and sold this 3070. At msrp, to a little kid, so calm down, I made no profit during this hectic launch, and he got a big upgrade. Anyway it did work great, a good looking, bulky card that was pretty quiet. I’m just extra and wanted more. I did get a 3060ti too for another build, all found at Micro Center, and would really recommend that. Pretty close in performance for $100 less, but after all that can I really talk? No matter which you chose you can’t go wrong. Just buy from Micro Center if you do want any of them. They came through during the dark desolate rona releases.
I won the MSI ventus card in a shuffle and was only disappointed it wasnt a 3080 and that it looks a bit ugly. Once I received the card and pulled it out I realized its not bad looks wise. It could use some help, but its an msi base model, what else can you ask for? Price to performance is mediocre but with this gpcrisis every card is full MSRP or more so I snagged what I could. Overall, for a very regular gamer on 1440p this card was a really big upgrade. Even from an asus 2080. The cuda cores make the difference for frames/textures and most of my games run gorgeously. Ill run upwards of 200 frames on most anything so it was definitely worth the buy. Id say if you can get this card msrp and its your only option, you wont be disappointed performance wise. ... MoreI won the MSI ventus card in a shuffle and was only disappointed it wasnt a 3080 and that it looks a bit ugly. After months of searching for a 30 series card, I decided to camp out over night at the local micro center. I wanted the 3080 because of all the hype surrounding that card and the overall great price to performance but it was all sold out. I decided to buy the next best option for my budget which was the 3070. I’ll tell you what, this card is great. I’ve been using the 1060 3gb for a while now and have been trying to dabble in vr games like half life alyx, and boneworks. It didn’t run well at all on the 1060 but the 3070 can run it very well with little to no hiccups. Overall the whole experience so far is perfect. All I need now is a new monitor to be able to experience the 3070 at its full potential.P.S. excuse the cable management, I really wanted to use it so ... MoreAfter months of searching for a 30 series card, I decided to camp out over night at the local micro center. I had issues installing this on two different systems, but with two seperate sets of symptoms. For my medium-sized gaming rig we had an issue where the system would just stop. I assumed it was processor overheating, so in addition to the fans on the 3070, and the case fans, we installed a 2-fan water-cooled radiator, but the problem never went away. The temps on the main processor were well withing normal operating range, but we still had issues using this graphics card.So I moved it to a different platform where it seems to work perfectly, except at every boot-up I'd get a bios hardware error. I eventually found the short-term fix was to disable the Compatibility Support Module (CSM) setting on the motherboard. After a bit of research it seems that this is an error that is across the GTX 30-series so far.Nvidia finally issued a studio version of the driver for this card less than a month after release, so they're catching up, but to me, this just seems a bit buggy because of the need to get them released.Overall it's fine, and once they work through the initial bugs it seems like a great product.
