I am upgrading from the Ryzen (1st gen) 1700 lol yes I left it late. what can I say?Scan Bundle vs Oveclockers: Scan wins hands down no matter how I tried I could not get the price any more lower.Performance: Massive difference not just in the core differences of the Ryzen 9 5900x vs Ryzen 1st gen 1700 but in the technology too.Temps: runs hotter than my previous CPU which did make me on edge however turns out this is nothing as the 5900x is rated to run a lot higher than 60- 70cdelivery of product: Excellent even the dpd driver was friendly.personally I would say if you want friendly advice and to find out more about products scan are very helpful and I was originally a overclockers shopper (not anymore).

On main screen all is well, english script until you click on overclocking settings. Then everything turns into japanese characters (I'm assuming). I tried to update via msi center, bricked the bios. Flashed to most recent stable version and problem persists. Also RGB not as advertised only in bottom right hand corner, no where else on board.

Be prepared for possible flaky performance.

Bit of a Hassle
20 January 2023

Bought this off of pcpartpickers thinking it would outline any incompatibilities with other parts it recommended, but I was wrong. Spent the last few days trying to track down decent enough RAM for this board that isn't eye-watering, after accidentally buying incompatible ones. My fault; I should've checked, but now everything that IS compatible I'm paying nearly double what I originally did, or needs shipped from around the world. Not even had the chance to use it obviously cause I've still not got the ancient, expensive RAM that this board needs... But I'm sure it's great!

Does what needs to be done
28 May 2022

Purchased as my Asus PRIME X570-PRO looked to have developed a fault with chipset. Went for MAG as it didn't need a fan for the chipset, it supported the GSkill 3800Hz, and was a good price. Worked out of the box, was able to run the Memory at correct hz no problem. The board had a good feel and did not look cheap. The packaging wasn't quite to the same standard as ASUS.

Good Mid Range Motherboard.
1 November 2022

The MSI Tomahawk Max WiFi X570 is a reasonable priced mid range motherboard. It has good audio output, along with WiFi. The only downfall is the limited number of system fan headers. Four PWM system fan headers, along with two 5 volt ARGB headers and two 12 volt RGB headers. This motherboard also has a Bio Flashback. It's well made and i would recommend this motherboard.

Good heat sinks plenty fan and rgb connectors. The rgb in the board have a switch for turn it on and off. Over all is a great board and a great price

I must tell everyone DON’T USE SCAN COMPUTERS

While I had used Scan Computers for many years, I must tell everyone DON’T USE SCAN COMPUTERS. The customer services is appalling as they refuse to acknowledge a Dead on Arrival (DoA) expensive motherboard and after three weeks continue to refuse to issue a refund in accordance with the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, even though the component has been returned. As an IT professional I have been involved with IT for over 3 deceased and built and recommended numerous systems. I have also been involved in the design, development and distribution of IT components, so I do know what I am talking about and the dismissive attitude of Scan Computers is terrible to say the least. After recently receiving an MSI X570S Tomahawk Motherboard bundle and other components from Scan Computers, I set about my normal routine to unpack and commission the components. When commissioning, I found the motherboard registered a CPU failure code. One thing which I did not immediately identify, but should have done is that the motherboard’s anti-static bag was not sealed. I had thought that perhaps MSI were cost-cutting and why should you doubt what you have been shipped by the retailer as being new stock? However, when I subsequently received a new MSI X570S Tomahawk Motherboard from another retailer, the motherboard's anti-static bag was sealed with the typical tamper-proof tape. So this tends to point to the likelihood that this motherboard as supplied by Scan Computers was not new.So back to the saga - rather than immediately reporting the CPU fail LED to Scan as a DOA, which in hindsight I should have. I decided to do some troubleshooting myself, leveraging my 30 years of expertise. I spent 2 days getting alternative components and frustrations trying to get the FlashBIOS and the motherboard to work. After receiving alternative components, I was able to confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that the motherboard was faulty and had been shipped as a Dead on Arrival (DoA) product. So the motherboard was returned to Scan Computers under an RMA6??177.Then started over 10-plus days of appalling customer service, where they tried to blame me as the customer and dismissed any of my troubleshooting. Quite clearly the component was faulty from day 1, and anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that the motherboard which Scan Computers shipped was not new, but an open box or returned item. However, Scan Computers still refuse to issue a refund as I have requested multiple times in accordance with the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.So if you want appalling customer service and to have weeks of your time wasted – then purchase your next IT component from Scan Computers, otherwise go elsewhere.

Motherboard
3 December 2022

Bought product back in late January, not used the bios from MSI as this is my first motherboard from them, especially when looking for xmp location but as far as I can tell no issues yet. Haven’t overclocked anything yet as I haven’t had too, my Video card came oc already and the frame rates I get are amazing as well as the speed from new 1 gig Samsung plus NVME drive. The board sees everything I have in it and hasn’t skipped a beat since I’ve owned it.

Thoughts of Motherboard and PCCaseGear
20 June 2022

Hi, just a quick one, I'm very happy with my MB but my main reason is to compliment PCCaseGear, I've used them for years and have always had super quick deliveries and have also had one product fail to which they promptly checked and replaced faulty products. I rate the MB good but I rate PCCaseGear the best retailer I've ever dealt with. I know I can always buy with confidence. Cheers
