I was sent this product to review - however it was only after receiving that I read the labour abuse scandal hitting Mutto and Conserve (Cirio). Reviewing just the product I gave it 4 stars, good flavour and consistency but could do with a bit more basil but thats a personal taste. However if you care about where your products are sourced and how they are sourced then you may wish to avoid a Mutti product at this time.
Nice passata and basil is a good addition but does reduce it's uses somewhat; not so good in Mexican or Indian food. I will probably stick to the plain one. I am also concerned with what I have read about the company practises and will look into this further and it may mean I do not buy this brand again - a shame as their plain one is my favourite passata.
I adore this passata. Used to use it in Italy but couldn’t find it in the shops here, although no doubt it’s somewhere. It really has the best flavour of the many I have tried over the years and the price is excellent value for money.
