NARS Powermatte Lipstick Indiscreet

I have been wanting to purchase this since its release, time and time again I am drawn to the color and how pigmented and beautiful it appears and effortlessly seems to apply. I finally own it and I have a few things to report for anyone who is, perhaps indecisive about the product. I will walk you through some of the claims posted by the company, and whether or not I believe it to be true. 🍁Transfer-resistant: False, unfortunately it does transfer; right after you apply and allow it to set it transfers only a tad bit, and the loss of makeup isn’t noticeable but three hours later it has transferred on to anything I’ve taken a sip out of and by this time has faded into a lip liner, the inner areas of my lips no longer have lipstick. 🍁Matte lipstick that glides on: Somewhat true, it does glide on effortlessly and the application is beautiful but it isn’t a 100% matte, it has almost a satin finish not shiny or glossy but also shines far more then a matte would. 🍁Delivering bold color: Absolutely! In one application the t color is bold, full, and breath taking! The first color I have ever obsessed over. 🍁All-day comfort for up to ten hours: It is extremely lightweight, moisturizing, and comfortable, I love the formula…. It will last about 4 hours at best, doing the basic everyday eating, snacking, or drinking. (I only applied one coat): I did three tests, the first I let the lipstick set and pressed my lips down hard with a tissue; the second I wiped my lips not softly, but also not brutally….I wiped them as if I wiped off food; the third I went the entire day with my lipstick and forgot to take a picture but again I ended up with a lip liner, the inner parts of my lips had no lipstick. For reference; I have a light, neutral skin tone, normal skin, and natural black hair. Now, it may not meet all of its expectations but it is an amazing formula, it is vibrant and beautiful in one application, it makes my lips feel great and honestly a little setting powder seals it and gives you a longevity that certainly comes close to 10 hours if you wish not to have to reapply it. The color selection is also beautiful and worth trying.

Bold and Powerful

Out of the box, this lipstick features a casing that is color coded to the shade. Which is really nice if you you have several shades you know which color you're reaching for and would look pretty in your makeup display.This shade "Dragon Girl" packs a punch. It's an extremely lovely bold red shade that is super pigmented.I applied one layer and it was such a creamy formula, I feel like it looks so beautiful on the lips. The shape of the bullet makes it easy to apply if you're going for a more soft rounded upper lip. It will take more finessing if you'd like a defined cupids bow, my suggestion would be to take a lip brush with the product instead for that look.I did have some transfer when doing a kiss test on the back of my hand but it was extremely miminal. ... MoreOut of the box, this lipstick features a casing that is color coded to the shade. Taking a sip of water from a glass and then a second sip it did transfer more which I expected. Matte lipsticks have a tendency to be drying, which while this was much better than I expected, I did still feel slightly dry after applying but it wasn't enough to be a deal breaker for me.Overall I could see my self owning the whole line. The packaging is gorgeous and the formula delivers! Such a beautiful color that made me feel bold and powerful.

Gorgeous intense color, a little hard to apply

This lipstick is very beautiful— intense color with one swipe and a velvety matte texture. I have thin lips and find it a little hard to get it to stay inside the lines- especially compared to using a matte liquid lipstick. I think using a lipliner would help but i dont like the feeling of wearing lipliner. I think oart if the issue with application is that the lipstick is not very creamy— it doesn’t go from creamier to a dry down like a liquid lipstick would so it pulls at the skin a bit, and that makes the edges fuzzier, for me at least (see picture). This lipstick is a little bit drying— i think that is normal with matte lipstick but i have occasionally found matte lipsticks which are less drying. Color will transfer if I wipe at it with a napkin (vs dabbing it) or if I apply more than gentle pressure when putting on the color.BUY, BUY, BUY OR BYE-BYE:* This is a product I would recommend, but it's not necessarily one I'd consider a 'must have.'* I like the shade range enough to pick up another color at some point, but this line may not be my first choice for this type of formula due to the dryness. Again, it's not uncomfortable but it is present and there's probably a couple of other similar products from different brands that feel more or slightly more hydrating. Even so, it's a BUY!

So glad NARS decided to listen to feedback received on Powermatte Lip Pigment and released this bullet lipstick.There are quite a few pros here compared to their liquid formula:- simpler, precision application- no smearing, smudging, product pooling and settling in fine lines around mouth- creamy, comfortable formula you can forget about as it wears evenlyI do feel however that there are some cons in here:- color intensity and payoff nowhere near as bold/vivid as with Lip Pigment- very little product for a higher price tag- much shorter shelf-life (only 6M vs 24M)- needs reapplied oftenIf you're a massive fan of NARS and can't live without this new release, I'd say go for it. Solid, Reliable Choice for Bold Colors

I have been a long-time fan of Nars lipsticks for many reasons. Their formulas are great, they tend to be far less drying than other long-wear formulas, and their formulations do not contain any off-putting fragrances. One of their older formulas - Nars Pure Matte Lipstick - was always my go-to for special events because it looked so immaculate, didn't dry my lips, and wore evenly throughout the day/night. This lipstick performs quite similarly but feels lighter and smoother on the lips. After application, it requires just a moment to fully set. It will wear well while sipping beverages and will perform solidly when eating meals. It is not transfer-proof, but it also doesn't completely melt away immediately if you're eating. long lasting and minimal transfer!
