I bought this machine last week and planned to replace it with an older model of the Vertuo that I have. The reason I wanted the Pop Plus was because it brews more sizes like alto/XL, and my current Vertuo only brews four cup sizes. I have use it every day since I purchased it. So far compared to my older model this machine seems more cheaply made. I struggle with close and lock feature each time. Every time I close it down it seems like its not locked in placed and you have to fiddle with it to be sure. The plastic used here just seems cheaper while my older model had a sturdy locking system. Secondly, when I brew coffee this machine seems to produce triple the amount of foam then my other machine when brewing so your left with less coffee and more foam. Secondly, when I brew coffee this machine seems to produce triple the amount of foam then my other machine when brewing so your left with less coffee and more foam. I am good with an inch or so of foam but this more than half the cup. I have stir each cup to settle the foam which is annoying when I am in a rush in the mornings. Lastly and most important the machine spout is set so low you cant fix your alto (nespresso cup) or a taller cup under the spout! Why oh why if its suppose to brew even larger sizes than my other machine is the spout set to low on this machine. My other machine only brewed up to 7.7 oz and there was still plenty of room to place a large cup underneath. It is so inconvenient and annoying that I have to use two cup when it is process of brewing and then transfer the two cups it brewed into one large cup simply because the spout is set too low to fix my tall cup under it! I regret buying this machine, and having two large sizes to brew was not worth the inconvenience of the short spout and my current nespresso cups not fitting underneath.

Don’t use damaged pods at all.Second, I selected the VertuoNext because of the combination of variety in brew sizes and the water reservoir size. I’m finding that we don’t use the larger brew sizes as originally anticipated and stick to 8 oz coffee or smaller. Even with the coffee size, we are refilling the water reservoir frequently - generally after 3 brew cycles because we don’t want the reservoir to run dry mid-brew. Letting the reservoir to run dry mid-brew upsets the programming and has resulted in inaccurate amounts of water in the next brew cycle and potentially another cause of water on the counter.Lastly, closing the lid is a two handed operation to get adequate pressure to pierce the pod and lock the lid properly. Not a show stopper but you have to pay attention to make sure it is done correctly or face the blinking red error light. The VertuoNext brews decent coffee and espressos. However, in hindsight, I wish I had heeded the other reviews and gone with the machine with the automatic lid, larger reservoir and fewer reported issues.

Great Coffee Quality but Troublesome Troubleshoot
12 November 2024

I purchased this machine a while ago because I wanted something compact and simple, and I'm not a heavy coffee drinker—I only use it about four times a month. For me, that’s perfect; I enjoy knowing I can make a good cup of coffee whenever I feel like it. The quality of coffee is great, no question about that. However, I’ve run into some issues with the machine, despite my limited use.Since it only has one button, it can be hard to diagnose problems when something goes wrong. For example, when a red light appears, I usually have to try several different solutions before I can figure out what’s wrong and fix it. This can be frustrating because it’s not always clear what the issue is. This can be frustrating because it’s not always clear what the issue is. Even though there’s an app, it doesn’t give specific troubleshooting guidance, which I think would be very helpful, especially for a one-button machine like this.I have seen reviews mentioning that the machine is loud, and it definitely is, but for me, the quality of the coffee makes up for that. Overall, I’d still recommend it, especially if you’re looking for something small and stylish that consistenly delivers great coffee. But for anyone considering it, just know that if it stops working, you may have to go through a bit of trial and error to get it running again. I really hope Nespresso considers enhancing the app to provide clearer guidance on what each error light means in the future.

Leaked with very poor customer service
28 January 2024

I bought my verturo next a year and a half ago. Because of the poor reviews from others, I took meticulous care of it: I cleaned it once a week, I made sure to only use filtered water, I ensured that it was opened after every brew and clear the capsule so it would not get clogged. It worked perfectly until today, when it wouldn’t brew coffee and I found it had leaked so badly it destroyed four books that were next to it.I called customer support to inquire if it was still within warranty. He said that they would need to troubleshoot the issue before telling me if it was in warranty, despite the fact that I told him the timeframe in which I purchased it. He said that they would need to troubleshoot the issue before telling me if it was in warranty, despite the fact that I told him the timeframe in which I purchased it. The person who troubleshooted my issues was condescending and short with me. He ran me through all of the cleaning routine twice. Every time anything brewed the machine continued to leak out the bottom. It was then that I realized the water was leaking from where the cord connected to the machine, water was pouring out over the electrical. He continued to try to tell me it was coming from the capsule container until I showed him the dry capsule container and the water pouring out the bottom. Finally, after an hour, he said my machine was out of warranty and he could offer me 35% off the same machine. I would have been more appreciative of the offer if he had told me that upfront and was a bit kinder with me through our interaction. I asked if I could think about it because, at the moment, it was hard to justify the cost even with 35% off for a machine that would turn into an electrocution risk in less than 2 years. He then told me that it wasn’t time but instead it was likely somehow my fault that the machine was broken and leaking, even though he just saw that I kept the machine as clean as possible. He suggested that if I purchased the descaling product more often then this wouldn’t have happened. It would have been nice to have heard about the warrant options before I spent an hour getting gaslit on the phone when it was very clear that there was no way to fix the machine.2 stars because while it worked it was great and I very much appreciate the recycling program.

Luxury Price, Paperweight Performance

Even the initial cleaning cycle was a disaster, taking a full 20 minutes, which should have been my first red flag.My husband had been eagerly waiting all day to enjoy the first cup of coffee from this machine. However, because of the overly long cleaning process, he had to leave for coaching before we even got a chance to try it. Determined to start our next morning off right before a long five-hour drive, I set everything up for the following day. Instead of enjoying a fresh cup of coffee, I spent 45 minutes troubleshooting the machine on a Saturday morning, only to give up in frustration as we rushed out the door.To make matters worse, I had to open a sleeve of pods just to test the machine, only to discover that it couldn’t read them properly. And of course, opened sleeves can’t be returned. So, here’s a tip: always test your machine with the welcome pods before opening any coffee sleeves.Given the price of these premium machines, the frustration and hassle are beyond unacceptable. I’d expect these kinds of issues from a budget machine, not a luxury product. Although these machines can perform wonderfully when they work, the constant headaches just aren’t worth it. I’ll be returning this machine and ensuring my friends know that it’s far from a quality investment.

I was just not satisfied about my experience that I had with the machine. I have such a positive mindset even when looking at the reviews prior is this statement and thought it was few customer and it seems like it all the machines or this model in particular that last less than 2 years. I read a review yesterday that a customer bought 2 models and they both stopped working a little over a year. That is all I need to see or know.Comment: Nespresso may hold a good reputation for their coffee but their lifespan on their machines are very short lived.

I am really enjoying this machine! I was very hesitant to purchase it due to a lot of negative reviews from people. I don't often write reviews but I felt it necessary for this one to help anyone that might be considering a purchase of this machine. One of the complaints that I read was the machine stopped working after not long of people owning it. As if today I have not had any issues with it and I've had it approximately for one month. I do want to know that it says it has Bluetooth connectivity . I personally would never connect my coffee pot to Bluetooth I don't think it's necessary and I think that is just begging to have issues. So that would be my recommendation don't hook it up, just press the one little easy button and call it a day . Another issue that a ... MoreI am really enjoying this machine! So that would be my recommendation don't hook it up, just press the one little easy button and call it a day . Another issue that a reviewer noted was the noise. I had also mentioned that to my husband and he explained the reasoning is because the machine has an air pump which is what gives that beautiful fluffy foam on the top. I personally love this machine! I also have a single cup Brewer from Ninja which I recently switched to from a keurig. That is a more affordable cup of coffee of course. But when I feel like having a treat or a really nice Midday pick me up I use the nespresso. The pods are more expensive but they are truly delicious and a treat. I enjoy the larger pour over style pod and the Columbian pod the best so far. I would say for $99 go ahead and try it! You will definitely save money by Brewing these at home instead of going somewhere to purchase coffee they truly are delicious and just like something you would get a coffee house.

Why do they keep selling this defective machine?

First, let me say that I LOVE Nespresso coffee. I have recommended it countless times, and even got my mother hooked. This, Next, machine is attractive because it has such a large range of drink options one can take advantage of the full range of Nespresso Vertuo pods. Unfortunately, I have now had trouble with 3 Next machines within the span of about 14 months. The first was with my Mom's, about 6 months in, after running the 4th or 5th scheduled descaling cycle. When we would insert any size pod and start a cycle to brew, it would not stop until all the water in the tank had been used, no matter how much was in there. I even ran one cycle through 2 full tanks to see if it might "reset". The person I spoke with was AMAZING. When we would insert any size pod and start a cycle to brew, it would not stop until all the water in the tank had been used, no matter how much was in there. I even ran one cycle through 2 full tanks to see if it might "reset". The person I spoke with was AMAZING. He sympathized while running me through two (2) hours of troubleshooting. By the end of the conversation, he said he could send me a new Next, or he would exchange it for a new original machine. I cannot tell you enough how awesome that was (and how much more amazing that machine is). Of course, I still had quite a few pods of various sizes that would not work in that machine, so I, stupidly, risked it and bought a new Next during a pretty good promotion. In addition to daily issues I've experienced trying to get these TEMPERAMENTAL (on a good day) machines to work, I've had to have the machine replaced TWICE, once for the "flashing red light of death" issue (x 3 calls and a total of (no lie) 3 hours of troubleshooting), and, just yesterday for the "just not powering on AT ALL" issue (after about 45 minutes of troubleshooting, including moving it to several rooms throughout the house and resetting the circuit breaker). I will say that I appreciate the customer service, especially with my Mom's machine. But, in reflecting on my experiences and reading the abysmal reviews (the good reviews are likely from those who are enjoying machines that are not more than about 6 months old), I have to ask, "Why are they still selling this machine?" WHY? Either Nespresso should fix the issues or take this machine off the market completely. All the collective headaches and frustrations really do add up to an overall negative experience for customers at the expense of the reputation of this company that really does have GREAT coffee options for people to enjoy at home.

[Rewarded Review] Oh, and That Crema!

Coffee is an important part of my day. I have wanted a Nespresso coffee system since I first tasted the coffee Nespresso produced from this machine. That was back in 2012. As a senior on a limited income, that was a luxury I could not afford. The coffee pods were almost as expensive as buying that famous coffee shop coffee. Although I have owned other machines that produce equally delicious coffee at a lesser price, I recently had the opportunity to buy a Nespresso coffee system. Yes, it is expensive, especially when the pods produce such a small amount of coffee, I find I need 2 pods to equal my normal 8-ounce pour. Oh, but that rich tasting crema that tops each and every cup of coffee you brew, is what sets it apart from the others. It is delicious!I have had this machine for almost a month and have tried at least 14 different varieties of coffee. I can honestly say, I enjoyed them all.I would recommend you try Nespresso next to your favorite coffee house coffee. If you feel it is expensive, think …every $5 you spend on that cup of coffee, you can get 4 Nespresso pods.If you are concerned about recycling those coffee pods, as I was, Nespresso does recycle the pods. Nespresso provides a postage-paid recycling bag.
