A Beautiful New Beginning

I live in an area where cable and fiber is impractical or simply nonexistent. 20 years ago my only options were Hughes Net satellite or Verizon ADSL . The encryption that Hughes Net uses is not compatible with my work VPN so the only option was ADSL. It was ok in the beginning because I transitioned from a 2400 baud modem to 1Mbps to 3Mbps…Whoopie! Time marched on and data transfers increased in size over the years and my satisfaction hit rock bottom when frequent outages became the norm.I finally ditched the ADSL and went cellular. AT

I am extremely happy with my purchase! Not only does this single router replace my Google Wifi mesh system, I am also getting much better speeds! Also I live in an apartment building where internet outages are common. Being able to have backup internet using 4G/LTE is a lifesaver. I work from home so having backup internet is a must!I definitely recommend this product.

I live in the country and this provided the best option for getting broadband internet. The problem I'm having is that throughout the day the internet connection is dropped. The device says the internet connection is good (LTE connection is green) but there is no internet connection for the wifi network. Rebooting the router seems to fix the problem but takes 5+ minutes and needs to be done several times a day. Have not found any solution yet.

As a consumer router with a cat6 LTE modem it is an adequate product. Both my wife and I telework for major corporations and performs to task.Because we live on a farm outside of cable and fiber internet coverage I've had to teach myself the ins and outs of LTE modems. This is the first integrated router/modem I've used. Previously used a cat3 AC341U modem connected to a Nighthawk AC1750 using a Cradlepoint CBA750B bridge router. The detail over information available to evaluate connection quality is disappointing. I would expect a product with older technology (cat6 modems are several years old) that purports to be capable of carrier aggregation to at least have the ability to show me what bands it sees and which it is using. More specifically I should be able to see detected signal strength and signal quality for each band detected. Ideally there should be an advanced function to allow for band locking.I'll be the first to admit that I was spoiled with the detail level of the Cradlepoint bridge routers interface. But that detail level greatly aided me on several occasions to diagnose issues with my carrier provider were their issue vs being an issue with my equipment/network. Event logging being one of those things I no longer have.

Only for T-Mobile

We live in a area with no internet, none! So I Purchased this router because it said it worked with ATT Sim cards. It does not! Twice went to the ATT store and they activated 2 different sim cards for me and neither worked to give us a hotspot. Finally one ATT agent attempted to set up router manually and it came up requesting a TMobile login. The app for Nighthawk is terrible! You can’t do anything on the app until you have internet connection, well what about the people who have no internet and trying to set it up?!? Frustrating! No paperwork or manual in the box, had to go back to website and look up PDF for manual to find out that you needed LTE antennas. The to top it all off and weeks of trying to get this thing to work and it didn’t, I called to return it and they tried to tell me that I only had 14 days! They did finally let me return it, but only because I told them how it says compatible with ATT and it clearly isn’t. Why don’t you make a simple router that works for hotspots for all us rural people who don’t have WiFi of fiber.

Outstanding for RV
6 December 2022

I recently replaced my Verizon Jetpac with the Nighthawk AX4 in our RV because our Jetpac’s battery needed to be replaced twice in a year. Very glad that this device worked with our Verizon sim card. Having the Nighthawk plugged into electrical power means that we don’t need to worry about any battery issues. I was able to easily connect all of my on board devices to the Nighthawk with relative ease. Very glad we made the switch!

Perfect for my setup.
30 June 2023

Great signal and did exactly what I needed it to excluding the SIM card functionality but that could be because of some configuration issues with the service provider. I just plugged in my nighthawk M6 into the WAN port of this one and it bridged over perfectly and I still have functionality of the gigabyte switch to run dedicated hard lines to my server and tower. which was the real purpose of the purchase. Ironically, the nighthawk took over control of the WiFi completely so instead of having 4 broadcast SSID’s I still only have the 2 SSID’s.

The router buffers way too much
12 March 2023

I recently upgraded my internet service to fiber 500 up and down. Since making the switch and putting this router in place all devices will randomly buffer. This happens more then when I had Spectrum 300x10. All of my cabling is cat 5e or cat 6 and all of my devices are directly connected to the router via cable or wifi. I had a few switches in the network too but had to removed them because the router doesnt seem to know how to stop a broadcast storm. I fully expect that I will need to replace the router and with a different brand.

Works perfectly on AT&T.

Simply put the SIM card in and it works on AT&T. Might have to register IMEI and have specific plans on other carriers, but unlocked LTE-A devices simply work on AT&T. The app is simple to setup the device and can then be used locally or remotely to change settings. It’s nice that it can be used with standard modems for internet as a router or for cellular to either fall back on from your normal internet or even exclusively for cellular. It is unlocked so it should work fine with any compatible carrier, tested with updated firmware on AT&T and Verizon and worked as intended. Might have to confirm device/plan on Verizon but mine simply notified that a device was changed for the line. Only thing I wish was included as a newer product would be 5G capability but I understand it would increase the price. At least LTE-Advance works for improved service and speeds. I have gotten over 100Mbps with typical speeds 50+Mbps and 10-20 for upload. Maybe a future model will include 5G antennas but it’s not required for solid service or alternatives if you have limited options. Also, the availability to buy external LTE antennas with extensions is nice to pull even stronger signal. They’re standard TS9 antenna connectors that are fairly cheap if the signal isn’t great in the area for better placement of the LTE antennas for improved serviced.

Works with EiotClub!
13 February 2023

Finally! A “truly” unlocked device that works with the budget friendly EiotClub triple play service (works with att, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks). Includes a lot of nice features including LTE service selection and signal meter (dbi), data tracking, remote access, and more. All of the top cellular/LTE cameras on the market failed me because none of them are fully unlocked (for a budget service like EiotClub). This device lets me run multiple WiFi cams (much cheaper and better quality than the LTE cams on the market) vs just 1 sim per camera with trail/LTE cams. This device is saving me hundreds of dollars!
